Skilled and Caring Eye Doc! 2/27/2009

I have been a patient of Dr. Super's for many years and have referred friends who are equally thrilled with him. Dr. Super is an incredibly skilled and caring physician - a rare find! He takes the time and has the knowledge to understand his patients' overall health in order to provide the very best solutions. He is proactive and he educates you, which is hard to find in this day and age. The office is fun, beautiful and vibrant. The selection of glasses, sunglasses and contacts is outstanding. It's unusual to look forward to going to the doctor, but with Dr. Super, I do! Pros: The best care imaginable more

Expensive, Yes. Professional, Yes. Good Results Questionable 9/20/2008

A Positive...Exceptional Staff. The True Reality...I am a very difficult fit as I have Keratoconus and had to undergo transplants a few years ago in both eyes. Rigid contacts are the only option for (those of us) after transplant and for me, rigid contacts have been extremely uncomfortable and this is why I chose to go to someone that charges $2000 for 6 mos of care, this is also to include contacts. After 6 mos I still was not able to be fit correctly with contacts. My left is slightly better however the optometrist said months ago he would work on this eye again to make it with better prescription; this did not happen. My right eye is extremely painful with contact he has prescribed; the eyesight is very dim in this eye. ...the conclusion, the right contact I came 'originally in wearing' is a better fit than any of the ones I tried at this place and it too abrades my eye just after a few hours of wear. more

hip, diverse, great place to shop 8/21/2008

What a fantastic practice they have there in Brentwood! Dr Super was super and so were his staff! I had the best eye exam ever and couldnt believe how thorough the exam was covering not only my vision, but my health and how my eyes relate to it! I have suffered with dry eyes and allergies and this is all over!! Yay! Pros: best eye exam ever! Great choices for glasses! Beautiful store! Cons: parking costs at the valet .....or street parking where they will help feed the meter more

Reliable Eye Care 8/7/2008

I?ve been seeing Dr. Super for the past two year and half years. He has helped diagnose and treat Keratoconus which involves a very challenging contact fitting due to the placement of Intacs within my eyes. He is well known among his peers and has come highly recommended by every eye care professional that I?ve seen. I?ve been happy with his service and he has very patient but determined in finding a resolution for me. I?ve recommended him to my friends and family who have also been happy to be under his care. I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs any type of eye care. more

Expensive with questionable results. 8/5/2008

Even if you have vision insurance, they will only apply it to the cost of contacts or glasses. It also took a few trips to get a prescription that fit. more

Terrible! 2/21/2008

This is the first negative review I have ever written, but the Eyesite left me with such I bad taste that I feel I have to warn others! I went there for contacts and glasses in 2007. The bill was OUTRAGEOUS, and yes, I have insurance. But insurance doesn't cover the ridiculous fees you incur here. I have been a contact lense wearer for over 15 years and I have never had a ""lense fitting fee."" Regardless, I would have happily paid the bill if I had been a satisfied customer. That I was not. I was prescribed some terrible lenses that were not right for my eyes. When the lenses both broke after a month (first time this has ever happened to me), the staff at the Eyesite told me I was out of luck due to my own ""mishandling"" and they could give no warranty. I replaced the first one out of pocket, but when it happened again I was fed up. The staff and doctor were anything but sympathetic, and after NUMEROUS phone calls, nothing was done to remedy my situation. more

Bad Customer Service 12/6/2007

Eyeglasses/frames were not ready after repeated promises. Cannot reach a person on the phone. Not a wide variety of frames to select from. Pricey (comes with the location). Still waiting for glasses to come in. Very disappointed. Pros: Great ambience. Stylish. Cons: Un-responsive. more

Don't go for contacts! 11/16/2007

I have a good vision plan that covers the exam and up to $100 for contacts. When I went to Eyesite for my first exam I was informed that they would be charging an additional $125 that insurance wouldn't cover because ""contacts are more difficult to fit"". I've worn contacts for 14 years and never heard of such a thing! If this optometrist finds contacts difficult to fit, maybe he should find another line of work. I just walked out. Cons: Outrageous charge for contact exam. Hard to find street parking, garage costs $1.90 every 15 minutes. more

Experienced doctor, friendly staff, and wonderful location. 10/3/2007

I am a contact lens and eyeglass wearer, and have been since I was 13 (I am now 47). I have been to dozens of optometrists, and this one has turned out to be the best fit (no pun intended). I had been to the eyesite when I first moved to LA, and had a less than perfect experience. The doctor was fantastic, but I couldnt say the same for the staff. After shopping around for a year, I realized that the doctor alone was enough to keep going there, made a second appt, and was prepared to deal with the rude staff. Boy was I surprised when I got in that morning. The receptionists were two new young ladies, and they were so friendly with this old man that I was caught speechless. They moved quickly, but still managed to have a conversation with me. The doctor was on time, and was as SUPER as I remember. Then, when I went to pick out my frames, the saleswoman was patient, not pushy. All in all, it was a wonderful experience in a hip, professional (yet not overly clinical) setting. Highly recommended. Pros: Hip locale, close street parking and valet for us lazy boys and girls, experienced doc, very detail oriented opticians, friendly and attractive staff Cons: none I can think of! more

Outstanding, Patient-Focused Service 9/17/2007

I have a very hard-to-treat eye condition requiring me to visit the eye doctor many time more frequently than the average person. After months and months of research, seeking word-of-mouth referrals, and trying out four other LA-area optometrists, I was very lucky to have found Dr. Super's office. I've now been an extremely satisfied patient for over four years. Dr. Super is a very caring, intelligent, and charismatic doctor. From my first visit, it was abundantly clear the health of my vision was the top priority. The breezy, sunny, stylish office vibe is terrific, but for me, it's about getting the best treatment for your eyes, and with Dr. Super, there's no way you can go wrong. Pros: Will go the extra mile to do what's best for your vision more

Super! 9/17/2007

The staff and the Dr both lived up to the name of Super. I will be recommending everyone I know to go to the Eyesite for their eyesight. more

Horrible experience 6/4/2007

Best Eye Doc in town!! 7/12/2006

Friendly staff and a ""SUPER"" doctor...someone finally got it right!!! Love my new glasses and the contact lenses I was fitted with :) The place has a really cool vibe too..check it out!! Pros: Ambience thumbs up!! And way cool sales people!! Cons: Street parking...so watch out for Brentwood's finest...they'll get ya!! more

Excellent Optometrist (Eye Doctor) 6/16/2006

With his South African accent, Dr. Super totally impressed me, not with his ""HI-TECH"" office but with his complete attention for my concerns with contacts and glasses. This office has a lot of new gadgets that I've never seen before. Besides the ""state of the art toys"", they had this lively salsa music playing in the background that made me want to salsa while I was trying on sunglasses. Their frame selection was enormous with very stylish and trendy frames - ranging from Fendi to Prada to Gold & Wood. Pros: Ambience, Staff, Hi-tech instruments more
