insincere hipsters 5/30/2011

They have good frames but what they first do is to show the most expensive and really beautiful frames, and then the reasonable priced ones are just ok, nothing special. I bought two frames from there, one sunglasses and another frame with lenses. After I bought the sunglasses, I noticed that it does not fit well to my face and it wasn't a special frame. Two days after the sale, I went to the store to return. They said 'no' and showed me the small sign they had on the wall. But that wall is literally covered with posters and signs, it's impossible to see it. And another notice comes with the receipt, which is written really small. You know these tricks. I feel nautious. These guys looks like an ethical local store but their insincere and superficial hipster image transformed into violent walmart consumerism when I asked the sunglasses to return. Even walmart accepts returns but this store rejects returns without even looking at it. more

No returns!!! They are cheap!! 5/30/2011

These guys are really cheap... I bought two pairs of glasses and wanted to return one of them after 2 days. I was told no returns were accepted. They showed me a 5 in by 5 in sign on the wall saying no returns are accepted. You can not even see it because they have at least 30-40 different frames, posters, etc on the wall as well. They don't even tell you that they do not accept returns when you are buying. They make a lot of money from people supporting local stores. But I think these guys do not deserve any support. I do not want to repeat myself but they are really cheap. more

Best, best, best place to get glasses! 9/24/2010

Oh, how I enjoy shopping at Eyes on Fremont. The opticians have an amazing knack for matching frames to faces, and I've never left disappointed. It's a little bit of a bummer that they don't accept my VSP (or any insurance), but the time I spend filling out forms for reimbursement is well worth the finished product. Kinsey Miller's quote, ""My little face needs Eyes on Fremont!"" is right on -- I have a pinhead too, and their selection is wonderful. Also very stylish -- from the more conservative like me to the totally wild. I love the fact that they work with smaller frame manufacturers like Portland's phenomenal INhouse eyewear/Aero to Zoom. Great staff, great product. more

My little face needs Eyes on Fremont! 2/9/2010

There are a few reasons I only go to Eyes on Fremont for my glasses and frames. The first being, I have a little face, they are the ONLY people that can continuously find frames that look great on me. (looking good is important when you wear glasses, they are on your face after all) Pros: stylin frames, funky staff, huge selection Cons: parking, and price more

Poor service, good selection 3/30/2009

I got a fair amount of attn while picking out my glasses here. (they ran me 400 bucks!!) But when I picked them up I felt rushed and ignored. The guy that helped me did not sit me down at a table; I was standing at the counter the whole time, and he was leaving me in the middle of the fitting to help other people. I was/am having trouble seeing and they insisted it was just me or a problem with my prescription and made me feel rushed. When I called to request an appt they informed me apts are not an option unless you want to pay for a doctor's apt, and you just have to go in and hope its not busy and someone will devote to you the time it requires to properly fit and check a new pair of glasses. Not only is my vision messed up, they didn't even fit the glasses right! I got better service at Lenscrafters, which is kind of tragic if you ask me. Pros: cool glasses Cons: poor service more

Knock-your-socks off frames and down-to-earth service! 8/13/2008

I've been in glasses since age eight and have been going to Eyes On Fremont for the last ten years. I decided long ago that if I have to wear glasses, I want to WEAR glasses, so I am always on the lookout for the striking and unusual frame, (and by that I don't mean crazy or flashy, although they have a few of those two). I'm also of the old school that not only appreciates excellent customer service but expects it and I will not spend my money where it does not exist. These two requirements have made EOF my go-to for frames and lenses. I have never failed to encounter caring, friendly staff and, by this time, know them all. They also know my tastes and that makes our collabarations a joy. To illustrate the level of service. My last pair of new frames, (about 18 months ago), were purchased after a staff member noticed a new pair that came into the shop, immediately knew they would be great for me and called to let me know I must come in and see them. She was so right ! I feel great wearing them and I can honestly say that not a week has gone by since that I do not receive at least one favorable comment on my glasses. What more could I ask......I'm happy, EOF is happy and apparently we're making at least one person a week happy too........lol. For those of us who wear glasses, Eyes On Fremont is an opportunity and a gift, don't miss out! more

Customer Unfriendly 1/17/2007

I found the frames I liked there, but then the options narrowed considerably. They won't have anything to do with your insurance, won't give you an estimate you can take to your insurance before you actually buy the glasses and, the final insult, they would not even tell me the manufacturer of the frames or give me any info about them so i could check myself. I ended up going somewhere else just because of their attitude. Pros: Good selection Cons: They are customer unfriendly when it comes to all other details more

great glasses! 1/11/2007

I love Eyes on Fremont! The salespeople are very friendly and helpful and Dan (one of the salespeople) picked out absolutely the most perfect frames for my face. I have had them for over a year and I still get compliments on them from total strangers. The prices are reasonable, especially compared to Market Optical (well, every place is reasonable compared to Market Optical... Eyes on Fremont frames are about 1/2 the price of Market Optical frames, and the prices for lenses are comparable). I have gotten such great service and love my glasses so much, I went back and got a pair of prescription sunglasses from them too. Oh, and they have a great selection of frames-- they'll have a style to suit your face and personality. Pros: great selection, knowledgeable and friendly salespeople, great service Cons: limited weekend hours more

Great selection, not so great service 8/15/2006

Eyes on Fremont does definitely carry a great selection of frames, but I have to say that I would only purchase a pair of glasses from them again under duress. I purchased a pair of frames that had been suggested to me by one of the many salespeople. Pros: good selection of frames, plenty of staff Cons: lousy return policy - especially for problem merchandise, at times too many staff more

Great service! 8/25/2003

The service here was very friendly and incredibly capable - they helped me find glasses that really suited my face. I've been to a lot of opticians, and no one has ever been helpful in selecting frames until Eyes On Fremont. I get compliments on my funky glasses every day! Pros: Service, Service, Service Cons: expensive frames more

Caveat Emptor - NO RETURNS! 6/27/2003

When I returned a pair of frames one day after I purchased them, I was denied a refund and was told that the frames are one of a kind and they issued an in-store credit. If they're one of a kind frames, they still have them and can resell, then why not refund? Pros: unique eyewear Cons: no return policy more

HIGH EYE FASHION! 7/29/2002

People at Eyes On Fremont were all very, very friendly and really, really helpful. They can find glasses perfectly fit for people who has any type of faces. I found the cutest and coolest, slammin' glasses thanks to Eyes On Fremont!!! I love the place and I'll continue to go there to find another pair of beautiful glasses!!! Pros: closes on Sunday Cons: beautiful interior, friendly staff, nice atmospher more
