OMG! I just had the most A-MAY-ZING cut/blowout at ENVY! Most stylists find my hair a challenge: it is baby-fine with a wicked cowlick in front that I have to straighten into submission every day in order to wear my lash-grazing bangs. Even though I always take a picture with me when I try a new stylist, my hair has never turned out quite right, and the stylist tries to talk me into the same old chin length bob that has ben kicking around for decades--YUCK! Not so with Riz! I sat down in his chair and instead of rushing to get started, he actually *listened* to what I wanted, asked a few questions, and didn't bat an eye at the challenges my hair presents. I was quite impressed with the care Riz took with my cut; he made certain every aspect of my cut was just right. After he finished blow-drying, I was amazed how pretty he had made my hair look! He even went back in for a few style-perfecting snips once he saw how my dry hair would lay. I must say, I have have NEVER left a salon this satisfied with my look! I've also never had other clients walk up to the desk while I was paying just to ask who did my hair. One woman booked her own appointment with Riz right on the spot! Needless to say, I'll return again and again, for results like this. more

You know when a friends hair looks good after a cut and color, you get a case of where did you get your hair done-itis..and think to yourself -I have to go there.. well I asked who did her hair and she mentioned Envy on Mineral.. I was like Really?? I havent really heard too many things about the Salon recently.. back in the day it was the place to be.. So I looked up the website and saw alot of changes on the website, and I decided to go to City search and look them up to see what other ladies had to say, the company profile, who the stylist where, etc.....and all good from what I can see... Until I made the call.. I got some miserable woman on the phone, I asked for one of the stylist that was on the website, I was THEN told they all no longer are with the company..and I was like why are they still on the website, isnt that false advertising?? Well the woman went on to tell me that she was just as good and I could walk in or make an appointment with her... Really what does just as Good mean?? Does it mean I might walk out of there with partially blue hair... I am dissapointed... if anyone knows of a good salon..can you let me know? more

My stylist Michelle is GREAT at what she does. She has been doing my hair for over 3 years and always keeps me looking fresh and in up to date styles. Michelle makes time when i need her without notice and always with a smile on her face. The 30 min trip each way was worth it to get her quality work, but I am so glad she is now in RI. Call and ask for Michelle today and you will leave loving her work as much as I do... more

Nicole, Is the best hairdresser! If I had a dollar every time someone asked me who cuts my hair, I would be getting my yearly salon services for free. Nicole is excellent at cutting hair and she really likes her job and you can tell by the end results. I am never frustrated when fixing my hair myself because she cuts it so well it just makes my job easy. My only regret is the salon is about 1 hr away from my house. However, it is so worth the trip!!! Everyone at the salon is so nice , friendly, and helpful. Every time I get my hair foiled, cut ,or styled Nicole continues to amaze me and my friends and people I don't even know complement my hair daily. BRAVO Nicole!!! Lynn de Carlo is absolutely out of this world! I followed her to the Envy salon from the place she worked before. I fell in love with her after our first encounter …that was a while ago. I had my own hairstylist that was very good; I was satisfied but not thrilled. I always thought that amazing haircuts/styles are only for the Hollywood people, there are certain hairstylists that go to certain schools….…I always wanted a red carped hairstyle, where every strand is perfectly trimmed , colored, styled and in the right place. I met/tried soooooooo many hairstylists until now, but she is by far the BEST one. Lynn De Carlo is the whole package- not only she does amazing haircuts /hairstyles but she is a perfectionist that would not let a strand escape her brush until is not PERFECT, no matter the time it takes. All this would not be possible without the passion she has for what she is doing and her continuous hard work to learn and keep herself updated with everything that is new in the hair fashion world. I noticed that only very smart people are studying continuously, this being one of the reasons they are so smart and she is one of them. I never saw a hairstylist that goes to so many courses and reads so much about her job. This is one of the many things that make her stand out of the pool of stylists. More than that, you enjoy being in her chair: she knows how to make you feel important; you are treated like you are the center of the universe; she always takes the time to listen what you say and makes sure she understands exactly what you are looking for/ or that what she did was what you wanted.. Usually, you get what you wanted and a little bit extra! She always makes the effort to give you the perfect experience. By all means, she is a perfectionist in the good sense! In her hands your hair is treated with respect and professionalisms, even more, you hair becomes an ongoing project for her. She will individualize the shampoo/conditioner depending on your needs at that particular moment (dry-scaly scalp, dull/tired color or just a itchy scaly spot). Let’s face it: all hairs look better after a shampoo and a trim: but only a perfect trim, color and styling would make your hair stand out and make you feel so much better about yourself. Even though I’ve known her for a long time, I continue to be impressed with her tireless attention to detail and desire to make you happy. I love Nicole, from day one. I get stopped daily and asked where I get my hair done. I have even had people take pictures of my hair. Even when my bangs are too long people still think my hair is gorgous, thanks to Nicole. I always tell people about the wonderful services provided by Envy and fantastic staff. The place is very clean with friendly staff. Too bad they don't listen to clients OR know how to cut hair. I am absolustely not bashing the entire place but I can say that my first visit was my last. I asked her to just give me a trim, (opting to see how she cut before doing anything drastic.) Instead what I got is completely uneven layers with it taken up at least 2in. on the sides. Not a trim. It's horrible and reminds me of a mullet (the longer in back and shorter in front.) Unfortunately there is nothing they can do because 1. This was my first visit. I had just moved and a friend from R.I suggested that I go here. I was on the hunt for the perfect blond shade. Jeanette nailed it. I described what I wanted and viola! Within a few hours, I walked out with THE blond shade that I have chasing for years. Love the cut and she was kind enough to show me how to do a new style. I REALLY liked her customer service skills, felt comfortable with her and trusted her right away. I can't express how positive the results were. The environment is chic without being cold and faux snobby. Very clean and they carry a plethora of cool products. The price is very reasonable and the owner and the woman who works at the front desk are nice ladies as well. Pros: Excellent vibe and very talented hair stylist Cons: None that I know of more

I can not tell you how many times I have gone into a salon to get a cut, and have come out in tears...hysterical crying that i looked like a mushroom head... I had heard that Envy salon had a few new people and I thought hey - lets give it a try.... WELLLLLL.. I got Lynn Decarlo- THE BEST SYLIST IN MY BOOK, Very Well Educated Stylist, who not only LISTENS to what you want, but also educates you about maintaining beautiful hair, and insider techniques that are priceless . She is the Best colorist that i have encountered, and let me tell you-I have had ALOT of colorist. She gave me a cut that fit me not only in the face, but for my busy-mom/career lifestyle. I was treated like an old friend - someone who they valued as a client - not like a few other salons around here who only want your cash and tell you to screw if it isn't what you asked for. Lynn is sweet and accommodating, she changed her schedule around to fit my needs - i am blown away with the respect that i was shown by the owner as well, she is sweet and sincere and very welcoming at the front reception area. The staff at this salon was extremely friendly. My stylist , Cassandra listened to what I wanted and did it exactly. She always checked with me to make sure she was cutting enough here and there and put in suggestions along with my own to make my style better. I haven't gotten a professional haircut in a long time because in the past stylists haven't ever given me what I wanted but here she got it exactly right and I love it! Well ,this is a first for me. I have never been so impressed by someone to write a review about them.But after a year with Lynn she is deserving of this. I am 52 years young and I was so tired of finding a stylist that could cut but not color, color but not cut,or did hair great the first time but lost interest and became lazy once you became a regular. Now that almost a year has past I can honestly say that Lynn is fantastic! It all started when I received a bad haircut and no one could see the problem,they would just say to grow it out. I found this site and saw the good reviews. I made an appointment to get a trim and color. I was fortunate enough to get Lynn. After listening to me for 45minutes ,she UNDERSTOOD! Finally,someone had taken the time to listen and didn"t pass me off as someone who didn"t know what she was talking about. I believe this is what sets Lynn apart from all the other stylists-SHE HAS RESPECT FOR THE CLIENT! Whether you are young (I heard she gave someone a great colored mohawk!) or old ,she respects what you would like for your hair. She may not totally agree ,but she"s willing to try if that what you truly want (after discussing the pros and cons with you). To put it simply she takes an interest in you,and that has not changed over this year. Lynn is a great colorist AND cutter and if we don,t get it exactly right she does her best to make it perfect. I said I was 52 years young because I was tired of being treated like I was old and was not suppose to have long stylish hair. No one in R.I. thinks a woman over 35 wants to be stylish and APPEALING!! Well thanks to Lynn , I have grown my hair to shoulder length and have beautiful highlights! The proof of Lynn"s work came when I helped at my son's school art show (which I always do). The amount of of women that came up to me to say that my hair has been looking SO GREAT was unbelievable!! Lynn has NEVER lost her enthusiasm for being a hair stylist,this is what puts her above the rest. But ,please remember ,it is a two way street. My name is Amanda, and I have visited this salon on several occasions for several reasons and have never had a bad experience. It's in a great location, with great people, great services, and great prices! The receptionist is always wonderful, Amy, I believe, with highlights and a great smile, I wish I could be as great as she is by remembering her name but she is petite and has worked out front the last couple of times that I have been in. Jeanine always gives me the cutest haircuts and my boyfriend and family always compliments when I come home after a cut. She always entertains me with fun stories and conversations but of course I work in restaurants and love to talk food. Victoria gives me the best and most relaxing facials I've ever had in my life!! She has magical hands and is always so gentle and kind. THe prices are so reasonable too! If I could afford to have Victoria give me facials every day I totally would! I also recently had my teeth whitened at thier salon through a special offer. It was the easiest, and the cheapest offer I had found through my search. I had been wanting to get my teeth whitened for a long time but everyone was asking $300+. THis visit was only $150! How great is that. The doctor who whitened them was so friendly and welcoming, she made sure that I was comfortable throughout the entire 2o minutes of my visit with her. I also had immediate results and although I have very sensitive teeth, I got the highest level of treatment and barely felt a thing. The staff there is so friendly and welcoming, I will really miss them. I just moved to N.C. today, back home from work and my boyfriends college. I hope that I can find a salon here in N.C. half as great as everyone there always was. I recommend this salon to anyone, you deserve to treat yourself once in a while, and I think everyone in rhode island should honestly check this place out! Pros: everyone here is wonderful! more

I've had my hair done many times with many different stylists-Cassandra, Lynn, and Maryann at Envy. Each time they give the exact hairstyle/color I am looking for. Most recently I colored my hair a deep, rich chocolately brown and it came out with a beautiful sheen and soft texture. I have received countless compliments- from both friends and strangers- and have been told my hair works with my features very well. The stylist Nicole often shapes my eyebrows, and she does an amazing job, with no pain and barely any redness. I always enjoy the deIicious goodies offered at the coffee bar and the reception staff is exceptionally welcoming. I highly recommend ANYONE- man or woman; teen or adult- to trust their hair and beauty care to the lovely professionals at Envy. more

Pam is an amazing stylist. She actually listens to what you would like done to your hair and then GIVES it to you! I have had more trumatic hair dresser disasters because they would give me what THEY wanted or thought looked best. Pam listens to you, she gives you a great consultation that consists of the products you use on your hair and styling tools etc. She is an amazing colorist and can work wonders to give you just the right hair color you desire. She is consistently keeping up on trends in the industry. She is truely talented and you would not be disappointed. I have never, ever had so much faith in my hair dresser until I met Pam. I booked months in advance to get my hair and makeup done for the wedding, and my bridesmaids' nails done as a gift. They wouldn't provide a discount for a trial run. When I went in to get the trial done, the woman who did my makeup told me only after she had finished that she wasn't available on the day of my wedding! Then they tried to charge me full price for the useless trial. They switched the person who would be working on me several more times after that, so I had no idea who would be doing my hair or makeup at any point. They first told me they could make appointments at certain times, but kept calling me back to reschedule. The services were fair, not great, not terrible, and they charged too much to give me the runaround like that. more
