Competitive Gymnastics 7/15/2011

My daughter is a level 4 gymnast at Elite and she absolutley loves it! There is two coaches for her level for the most part, The head coach Emily can be extremly tough but she gets them to perform the skills, she is really good at conrtolling 15+ gymnasts at one time, something I dont think I could ever do. My daughter also really enjoys the assistant coach, Tori. She has a high level competitive background so the girls know that if they listen to what she says they could be as good as she was. She is closer to their age and since she has experienced this sport first hand, she understand what it is like to go through tough daily practices. She has really good examples and analogies when she is trying to help my daughter learn knew skills. My daughter is young so she doesnt always get the skill right off the bat and Emily sometimes gets frustrated but Tori never does. I watch her interact with the gymnasts and they all love her and she is awesome at giving them hugs when they are upset. I have seen so much improvement in just the last 2 months that it is outstanding. Just the other week my daughter didn't understand what oposititon was on balance beam so she put a hair-tye on her wrist so that way she knew what arm to put out. Its simple things like that, that makes a mom confident in the gym she sends her daughter to. She also has taught my yougest daughter's preschool class and man she is amazing at interacting with even the 3 and 4 year olds! One day out of the blue, Tori brought in some of her old Leotards for the level Fours and Fives but was kind enought to save one for my youngest who isnt on the team. Thanks so much for having amazing coaches Elite! more

Son's Birthday Party Was a HIT! 2/3/2010

I had my 10 year old son's birthday party at Elite last weekend (Jan 30, 2010). It was a perfect place for 12, 10 year old boys to run around. The staff was friendly and helpful. My daughter now wants to have her party there in April. They also have a pool there that they use for parties and swimming lessons. more

Swimming Lessons 4/22/2009

Drown; -verb to die under the water. "Near Drowning" implies that one was near death. In reference to the incident mentioned here, the child required no medical attention and actually remained in the water to finish the class. Elite has worked with children for over 35 years; our main goals are to help children grow up safe, happy and healthy. At this time, as well as the time in question, Elite ensures the safety of its students by staffing its classes in such a manner, that there is a Red Cross certified life guard in the pool during class times. In addition, Elite has on staff a certified EMT who is often on the premises during swimming lessons. The EMT was asked to asses the situation on the night in question, and it was his professional opinion that there was not a crisis situation. While Elite appreciates and respect a persons right to free speech, we ask that care be taken to insure that the facts be disseminated correctly. more

Swim Lessons--or Near Drowning 4/15/2009

Elite Aquatics doesn't secure the safety of your children during swim lessons. While sitting in the observation booth during my child’s swim lesson. I saw a mother frantically run out of the room. Her four year old almost drown during lessons, when her teacher was oblivious of 1 of his 2 students who had fallen under. The teacher was oblivious to the entire situation! Her mom made it poolside in 30 seconds from the upper deck waiting area, thank goodness the mother was watching since no one else noticed! I overheard staff talking about how ‘she should have stayed on the step’, while the teacher went to the deep, opposite end of the pool. So at Elite Aquatics, the consequence of not following directions is drowning I guess. Please don't put your children in the same risk this young child was placed in. more

We had my sons party at Elite and it was great. There was lots for the boys to do. Its a great place for the boys to be boys. There was a large inflatable, big enough for two people to work their way through an obstacle course. There was a zip line and lot of things to climb on, swing from and jump into. The price was the best in town. We'd do it again for sure. more

Great Party Place 12/28/2005

Elite Gymnastics and Aquatics has two separate areas for great parties or you can do a combo party. The swimming pool has a net over the pool that you can climb on and two slides. There is also a zip line and a water walker to play on. The gym area has many things to climb and swing on. They also have a club house in which to play that a slide comes down to the lower level. The kids just love going to Elite for their birthday parties. The only downside is that the gymnastics side smells like sweaty feet. The price is reasonable. more
