The unit itself has for the most part worked fine and has served us well. We had a year where it wouldn't blow cold air and different techs would come out telling us different things. But the third visit fixed it, but we never heard what the problem was. To maintain warranty they require you to pay $100 to $175 yearly for 2 "service visits" that are essentially sales opportunities for them. Like I said the last year has been better, but I've had techs who offered to sell me discounted filters for cash under the table. I've had techs literally threaten to put in the paperwork to void my warranty if I didn't purchase a $600 upgrade. I imagine their service techs receive perks or bonuses based on their sales. I understand the need for a business to make money. But then they should require me to have an hour visit with their salesperson (in a 4 hour waiting window of course) twice a year and not call it a tech visit. Also, the original sales visit said we would have top of the line allergy filtering and we would have to buy a $150 filter once a year. After the first visit, they began to tell us we needed to buy a filter twice a year and offered upgrades for top of the line allergy filtering. There were other things that were promised only to find out that once installed, it wasn't like the original salesman discussed. I originally went with Econo Air because they advertised on radio stations that led me to believe the company operated with integrity. I've been mostly disappointed but have no other companies to really compare them to. Perhaps, unfortunately, this is standard operating procedure in this field. I would not recommend someone go with Econo Air.
