Stay away from Dutton Plumbing! 9/20/2010

They charged my elderly parents over $500 simply to install a couple of standard bathroom sink faucets. $500 for LESS THAN 1 HOUR of work - then further ripped them off by selling them a one year ""service plan"". Scamming the elderly - way to go Dutton. more

Dutton Plumbing, a total rip off 9/6/2010

Dutton Plumbing is a rip off. Get another plumber do not waste your time. A PVC broken line repair should not cost over $750. That is want they try to charge. They have a book of job charges and the prices there make me want to be in the plumbing business too. more

Great Personality! 5/6/2010

I called Dutton Plumbing yesterday for a leaking pipe in my ceiling, it was so bad it started to buckle because it got so soggy. They sent their technician David Walker out who made the fix look easy, he was a great guy to do business with, we could have been friends! He also checked our pressure to the house and deduced that because it was so high, it was most likely what started our leak. He also installed a pressure regulator for us and now everything is working perfectly. Thank you Dutton Plumbing!! more

What's with all the negativity? 4/29/2010

Having grown tired of calling around getting inaccurate phone quotes and handymen who have really no idea how to do plumbing, I called Dutton Plumbing to handle major backups at my residence that have been reoccurring periodically. Right away I had a technician at my door who obviously knew everything about the problem, he ran a camera for me and discovered I had roots in my line. We went over several options and finally went with their hydrojetting service. It worked great and was at a very reasonable price considering the machine they used and the time it took. They blasted all the roots out and I don't have problems anymore, better than the handymen that get their snakes stuck and give up! Rip Off !!!!!!!! 4/16/2010

Called to just have my toilet tank assembly replaced, as the tank failed to refill after flushed. Since they bill only by the job and not the hour, the cost was over $327 for about 30 minutes of labor. The technician then proceeded to try and talk me into an ongoing service contract. When speaking to the customer service agent concerning my grievance, he stated ""we believe that charging the customer by the job and not the hour actually saves our customers money"". If you believe that $327 is a justifiable expense for something I should have purchased at Lowes for $30 and installed myself, by all means, call them. What I also find amazing is that almost every negative review on this site was rated as ""not helpful""...hmmmmmm FIND YOURSELF ANOTHER PLUMBER, THESE GUYS ARE A RIP OFF !!!!!!! Pros: Nothing that outweights the costs Cons: Costs more than twice any other plumber I called afterwards more

Worst experience. 4/6/2010

Please beware of these people as to what they charge for parts. The prices that they charge are exorbitant. They came down at my place to replace a leaky flapper. The flapper cost they charged from a book was $125, apparently due to the fact that it is branded flapper vs a generic one in home depot. I paid that price and was okay as this was my frist time ever interacting with a plumber. Guess what my leak is back in couple days. This time the guy visits again as they offer 90 day gurantee. This time he tells me that there is some other part that has gone bad and now it is going to cost me additional 300 dollars. They were taking into consideration the $125, as their original cost is 425 and change. What a rip off. I simply asked the guy to leave. Please beware of them. When you speak with them on phone make sure you enquire about their entire cost. Pros: Kind service person. Cons: Rip off in terms off prices. more

Return Customer 4/1/2010

I bought a new garbage disposal for my kitchen sink and tried to install it myself. Well I made a few mistakes and figured I couldn't do it myself. I called Dutton Plumbing and they came out within the hour because they had technicians right in my area! They had it installed and ready to go for me quickly! I would certainly use them again. more

First Rate Work - Affordable Prices 3/12/2010

I have worked with several plumbing companies in the past, and the plumbers at Dutton Plumbing are by far the most knowledgeable and hard working in the business. They installed a new faucet in my kitchen the other day and it looks great and feels sturdy! They really are the community's most trusted plumber, I've recommended them to my neighbors. DO NOT USE -- HIGHWAY ROBBERY 2/22/2010

I had a gushing leak from bathtub faucet on a Sunday and was over a barrel because I needed it fixed immediately. Dutton charged $356.18 for a part that they told me ""was difficult to get."" I had no choice. Two days later, I had a good handyman take the part to a hardware store and found that it cost $6.49!!!! A discrepancy of about THREE HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS. When I called to speak with a supervisor, they told me that all supervisors ""were not in."" I'm still waiting for a call . . . . Cons: GROSSLY INFLATED COST OF PARTS more

Price Gougers - Use at your own risk 1/17/2010

Brian with Dutton Plumbing acts like he is here to help you as he stabs you in the pocket book. Very shady services.....Paid $1400 2yrs ago for Dutton to install new water heater. Water heater leaks and Brian with Dutton wanted $900 to change out heater that is under a warranty. Lowered to $736 said I should be happy they are doing me a favor. Said he would ask Owner if he could go lower and would call in the morning. Never heard from him until after 10 a.m. so I called water heater manufacturer and he gave me another dealer, which Brian stated I could only go through Dutton to keep warranty. We Brian called I told him and he said oh I was going to make you a deal and now I am not cause you went somewhere else. Very poor service and unprofessional. Found out Dutton didn't intall a drain pan or pull a permit for the $1,400 water heater first time. Got the job done elsewhere for $350 including permit and drain pan. Use at your own risk. We had a flood on Sunday morning, called 6 plumbers..... no luck, we called Dutton, and a real person answered, she was polite, and professional, and they sent a plumber to our house within 45 minutes, what great service. Our plumber Oscar was the best very nice, and as clean as a doctor, he stayed half the day until the problem was totally fixed, he then sent someone out to clean up all the flood damage that same day (Sunday). We were treated like royalty at Dutton plumbing, we will be customers for life. more

Dutton Plumbing 8/6/2009

I had a plumber named Brian out and I was so appreciative of the special care he gave us on his last visit. It involved our kitchen water filter and he was able to correctly diagnose the problem as not having to do with the filter at all but with the water pressure coming into our house. Its that kind of comprehensive thinking we really value. Over the past three or four years Brian has been out to our house for various things and have always been helpful and generous with his time. I feel like he is a member of the family and I always tell him to stop by for a cup of coffee when hes in the neighborhood. more

very high quote .. 100% higher than other quotes for the job ! They definitely are comfortable with taking advantage of the consumer.I would not use this company for any plumbing jobs more

I had Dutton Plumbing out and I was pretty surprised. Their professionalism blew me away. They were very knowledgeable and fixed a leak with no problems. horribly expensive and not very nice either\r \r they are scammers....they charge a $40 fee that they wave if you go with their estimate. they estimate very very very high. just be prepared to either get screwed or get screwed.\r \r I called for a minor gas leak that took the plumber 5 minutes to replace a 1/2 pipe 5 inches long. He charged me $500. Half a grand for 5 minutes of work. Ouch. I spoke with other plumbers after the fact and they said it should have costed $200 at max for the work they did. I didn't have the option to go with another, because i was leaving and couldn't leave a gas leak. \r \r They may have ripped me off for now, but karma will get them back. Prompt & Reliable Service 10/1/2008

Dutton Plumbing is terrific. My husband and I had a leak in our upstairs master bath and Dutton came out and quickly fixed it at a reasonable price. Their technician automatically checked all our bathrooms while he was there to ensure that no other problems would come up after he left. Good job! more
