This company is evil. I worked there 5/29/2012

This company is evil. I worked there and a few weeks after being hired I was diagnosed with cancer. They kept telling me not to worry and that they would work with me, then they let me go while on medical leave. On top of that they tried to tell the Unemployement office that I was not capiable of doing my job. The problem was that the only person who knew how to train me went on medical leave a week before I was hired and the manager was clueless and not capiable of training me. Very low class company! more

Do not pay Dura Medic a PENNY!!! 8/19/2011

Dura Medic has been harassing me to pay for an arm sling which my son received at the La Palma Intercommunity Hospital in Orange County California. He broke his arm twice and received a sling both times. Medical paid for the first one, and then Duramedic insisted I pay for the second one. Using simple logic, I questioned their billing practices and asked why they only need the money for one arm sling, when both identical arm slings were paid by my insurance. If one was paid for, then why pay for the second one? (In regards to the second arm sling, in the ER I specifically told the nurse, ""We do not need that, my son just broke his arm and we have one at the house."" She kindly said, ""Oh its ok, we have one right here for you. Just take another one, he probably grew anyways."") Fast forward after months of harassing me, and now let me tell you what happened...A woman who calls herself LILY MARTIN hung up on me when I asked for her supervisor! When I asked for her number, which I did in two separate phone calls, she gave me the DIRECT TV number! I am writing this to all patients who are preparing to pay Dura medic for a fake hospital bill. Keep your money and do not pay this company. more

Preys on Disabled ER Patients - Profiteering off of the Weak 7/1/2010

Wanna know how to make millions in this economy? Buy cheap canvas arm slings in a foreign country and sell to a captive, disoriented and disabled audience in the emergency room for a 6000% mark up. Normally, this sort of practice is called ""price gouging"", according to Wikipedia and a host of other sources. Other words that might qualify are ""usury"", ""racket"" and ""ambulance chasing"", you be the judge... Dura Medic llc is apparently making anywhere from ""$2.5 to 5 million"" a year according to Manta (dot) com while only employing a skeleton crew of 5-9 employees, including the owner David Bryant. Their ""success"" comes from providing medical supplies in emergency room settings and billing separately from the hospital 30 days after you've been released from the ER. They don't put price tags on their goods so accident victims who are in a super vulnerable state and often disoriented have NO idea they're going to get ""raped"" by the bill later. At that point, accident victims have no choice but to pay the bill, which is in the ballpark of 700% more than the actual retail price for the item. You tell me: is this an ethical practice? Or is this akin to selling earthquake victims a gallon of water for $50. Accident victims in the ER are not counseled about having options to the sling (or other item) the nurse literally puts on them without asking, there is no price tag and it's being supplied under the auspices of benevolence and ""care"". Yeah, David Bryant seems like a genius. Look how much money his company makes off of unsuspecting accident victims in a captive environment. Unfortunately for him, with the net such an integral part of our lives, this price gouging racket is easily exposed by a quick Google search for ""arm sling."" My complaint call to Dura Medic was met with the answer ""this is what Medicare allows."" Great. Not only are YOU getting ""raped"" with the price gouging that Dura Medic engages in, so is our bankrupt government by paying $60 for a $7 canvas sling. And guess who's laughing all the way to the bank... that David guy. Pros: nada Cons: 700% markup. No choices given in the ER more
