Best

We arrived before going to the theatre. Service was lackluster and the beef was gristle quality. If you want to try different kinds of sake they have quite a collection, but if yo...

Worst

The food was ok, good. Not great. The service was terrible.

Consistantly over-rated 10/9/2004

I finally checked this place out after many people raved about it, and I just wasn't impressed. We went for the Dim Sum which isn't Dim Sum at all. The food was average (except for the sushi, which was rather tasty), the service was terrible, it was cold, and the price was a bit high for what we got. I'd say give it a shot, but don't go in there expecting the rating this place has on citysearch. It's not that good. Pros: No longer hungry Cons: , Parking, Service more

Let's be honest! 7/29/2004

The Dragonfish is a nice place to eat or get a small plate maybe before a show or other function downtown. However IT IS NOT AN 8.6 for after work bar. There are some entries that make sense, but I think the Citysearch method for ratings is poor and misleads those who might think they are going to place for rating that is not given correctly. Also if your going to name a after work bar I would suggest the Garage on Capitol Hill seeing has how the place is usually packed especially towards the end of the week. Great food, a deck, billiards, and bowling...... It's all good! Pros: Apps, Dim Sum, Location Cons: , Mixed Drinks, Location more

Nice place 2 kickback when you're around 6/8/2004

The food and the service quality is average... But the location and late happy hour time (10PM-1AM) make this spot worth stopping by when you're on the late night prowl. The selection of sushi is a couple bucks a plate, but the size and quality is less than conveyor-belt-restaurant sushi. Don't expect to get full off of the other small plates, but the selection and taste is overall good enough to be worth trying a variety. The environment compensates for the soso sushi, making Dragonfish a good location to sit back and have a few laughs with your buds. Just make sure you make reservations, or you may be waiting a good 20+ minutes. Pros: laid back environment, happy hour menu, attractive decor Cons: , seating wait time, unimpressive sushi more

Decent but pricey 2/3/2004

A bit pricey for the small selection of sushi that you get, but there are a wide range of other dishes to chose from as well. The place has a nice authenic feel to it with great decor and a good vibe. Not a place I'd go every day unless Im trying to burn a hole in my wallet. But none the less, and nice place for a night out down town near everything Pros: Ambiance Cons: , Pricey more

Way overpriced 12/12/2003

If you're into the ""trendy"" thing, this is your place. To me ""trendy"" means you're paying 10 times more than you should. The food is way overpriced and limited selection. Forget about the Asian title, tt is mostly just Japanese. It's a good place for a group hand-out for late night drinks, but don't go here for the food! You've been warned. Pros: lively crowd, fun environment, late night handout Cons: avg overprice food more

It Serves A Purpose 10/13/2003

It's a cool, chic place that is good for eating and socializing. The food is not that good unfortunately. Look at my other reviews, I am usually pretty easy. The sushi is a notch above grocery store sushi. The other items are ok, but at least a couple of notches below Wild Ginger. This place is good for late night munching and socializing. Pros: late night hours, comfortable and chic, sake sampler Cons: sushi, authenticity, overall food quality more

Trendy and fun 9/18/2003

Went there after a show at the Paramount without having had dinner prior to the show. We had to wait about 15 minutes but it was worth it. It was lively, fun, trendy, chic, friendly, tastey, and a decent value. We frequent Seattle and Vancouver BC and eat out alot (too much actually) and would definately go here again. My only complaint is the edammame pods were over salted. This is a sure bet on my late night post show dining choices in downtown. (Last Saturday the patio dining during good weather looked inviting on our walk past on our way to another dining experience.) more

Let's go back! 7/14/2003

I had read the mixed reviews and was curious. The restaurant itself is quite attractive, with a nicely done Asian decor and comfortable seating. The service was gracious, helpful, friendly and prompt. And the food? Wow! We loved it. We ordered plate after plate of dim sum till no one could eat another bite and THEN we shared several desserts, which were also wonderful. The bill (excluding the bottle of wine) was $80 for four people. Our friends said it was the best night in recent memory, and we have decided to make this a regular event. Pros: elegant decor, flavorful dishes, excellent value Cons: none, really. None more

Skip This Restaurant All Together 6/11/2003

The food is awful. Once, I ordered their bento lunch box and my orange beef tasted musty. Ick. Drinks are also week. If you are in the mood for Asian food, skip this restaurant and take the bus to the International District. Pros: Location Cons: Food, Drinks more

best happy hour in seattle 4/5/2003

this place has the best happy hour with cheap drinks and food and great and friendly service more

""It would be rude to ask for 7-11"" 3/31/2003

The wife had been to the Dragonfish in Portland, and she wasn't impressed, so I didnt expect much from the one in Seattle. It looks like it was stuffed into the bottom floor of the hotel at the last minute. Service was very friendly though. It was the only place in town where 19 year old people could eat at 10pm on a sunday. Kind of sad really. Presentation, and flavor was varied and exciting, but the size of the portions for the price left us hungry. The cocktails had some creative ingredients, but not too long on the value. If you have the money and have already eaten, or arent very hungry I highly recommend it. It is a treat for the eyes and tongue, but the stomach may be disappointed Pros: Creative display, Good Flavors, Late Hours Cons: Poor value more

Great Experience 3/28/2003

I had never been to the Dragonfish before and was delightfully suprised. The diversity of the menu offered something for everyone in our party of five. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone wanting a unique dining experience. more

YUCK! 3/27/2003

This place is awful! bad service & terrible food, the dim sum is just their appetizer menu (basically), and since when did Japanese dishes become dim sum? Yuck, Yuck, Yuck! more

Better to go elsewhere 2/17/2003

This place is oversold and overpriced for its mediocre dishes. If you're looking for good duck, DON'T order it here...Wild Ginger is your better bet, or go to the International District for the authentic touch. Lettuces cups are uninspiring - PF Changs in Bellevue does this dish better. NOT a good place for parties of 10+. Get reservations before a show and make sure it's before 6:30 PM for an 8:00 PM show. 2 positive things...you can't beat the convenience to the Paramount and they've got Kirin beer on tap. Pros: Close to Paramount, Trendy decor, Satisfactory service Cons: Overpriced, Cramped, Mediocre dishes more

Terrible food.... 1/27/2003

The food was not impressive at all. The salmon we ordered tasted fishy. The almond crusted halibut was dry/overcooked. Our neighbor's fried rice looked liked it had way too much soy sauce. The stir-frys didn't look appetizing. more

something about merry 12/13/2002

We ate at dragonfish last night. They are sooooo busy. We were so lucky to have a reservation. Food was delicious and service was attentive. I can't believe busy restaurant like this can provede such a wonderful service. this was my 2nd time which was great, but this time was even better. more

The waiter was a real dragon 12/11/2002

The food was ok, good. Not great. The service was terrible. more

Went in for a drink, stayed for the food 9/18/2002

The menu has changed since the Blowfish days, for the better. The menu is more diverse, and the fresh sheet rocked. The small plates have always been good, but the entrees now have caught my attention, The thai noodle dish was great, and the asparagus beef blew me away. Even the dessert were good, like the chocolate heaven cake. The ambience was not intimate but fun, lots of energy in the place. I look forward to going back and seeing what they do next. Pros: fun, great food, inexpensive more

Busy, but worth it 7/25/2002

This place is usually bustling, but their creative drink list makes it worth the wait. It's a great place to unwind and people watch, but without the ""scene"" that you'll find at other bars. Parking can be tricky, but if you work downtown you're set. Pros: Good atmosphere, creative drinks, great food Cons: crowded, sometimes a wait more

GREAT menu! 7/22/2002

Went to Dragonfish recently for the first time for dinner. I can't eat much, as I recently had surgery, so we ordered from the Dim Sum menu which is on the dinner menu. There were 3 of us in our group. The waiter was great in describing how their menu works -- family style -- and making recommendations on how much to order for 3 people. We tried 5 items from the Dim Sum menu, which was just perfect. All foods were excellent, and the pricing was good as well. I just wish I hadn't waited so long to dine there! Pros: excellent menu, ample pay parking more
