Dr. Louis Belingante did surgery on my daughter (underbite) and after waiting over five hours, he never came to let me know how the surgery went. He even left the hospital without speaking to us. I found out later why... The surgery went wrong. I rushed up to her room and she had blood coming from her mouth and I rushed out to have the nurses come see what was going on. He didn't want to tell me that her surgery went wrong. I was told he had a student perform her surgery. The results are with her for life. Paralyze on her right face side, right eyebrow won't move, she can't smile wide anymore, and we live with his error everyday. Even tho my daughter has paralyze on her right face, I'm grateful because it could be worse. She worries that as she ages her face on the right side will drop. I pray that this doesn't happen to her. I know patients never get to hear or see those patients when the surgery goes wrong. And no, she didn't get any monetary retribution from this because I could not find not one attorney that was willing to bring a case against him. The statute of limitation has passed, and we still live with his mistake everyday. I was trying to have her underbite fixed, and got paralyze on her right face and nerve damage. My heart breaks!!!!
