Horrible Service 5/19/2010

Me and my friend went on a great pub crawl. she was in from out of town, and I took here to some great bars with awsome atmosphere. We were having a great night, and we thought double daughters would add to it. The bartender with dark hair was very rude from the begining, took us over 10 min, to get served. the place was hardly fulle maybe 5 people other than us. The dj had a great ambient set, However my friend asked about the bar being curius, and the bartender honestly said "This is Marios now go f**k yourselves" we were so taken back, and were so polite from the moment we walked in, that we imadietlt left, and will never return back. I have several friends that take people to this bar/lounge, that will never give them service again, and thats a shame because if the staff was not so rude AND NOT CHARGE MY CREDIT CARD FOR UN-NESSARY CHARGES, this establishment would have alot more going for them. Never again Pros: Great Decor, and ambiance Cons: Staff very rude, Unauthorized credit card action by resturan more

Favorite spot in Denver.. 4/18/2010

I had eaten at Two Fisted Marios a few times before we took a peak behind the curtain. It was like walking into The Nightmare Before Christmas meets The Chocolate Factory. So we decided we definitely had to come back for cocktails. So on a Saturday night we came back. It was pretty packed but there were lots of cool people there. Had many interesting conversations! I also really love that you can order pizza by the slice from next door. Nothing like a peice of veggie pizza when you're feeling a little buzzed. ^_^ The drinks were yummy; I had the Punctual Rabbit. All the drinks have whimsical names like that. I tasted my girlfriends drinks as well and they were all delicious! The service was pretty prompt, although the girls that worked there were't very friendly. The location is also a good point because it's easy to hail a cab or grab a bus! Overall, this place is great, besides the somewhat pretentious staff. Pros: Really cool atmosphere, great martinis and pizza! Cons: Unfriendly staff. more

A response to a review and a word of caution to credit card customers 12/5/2008

This review is a response to the review posted about the "shady waitress." I am the manager at DDS and was contacted by the husband of the young lady who had a tip posted to her credit card without her permission. I researched their complaint and found that there had been no tip posted to their account by our waitress or our establishment. When I called back to confirm this with the couple, they acknowledged that, indeed, there was no charge to their card other than the charge that was authorized by the cardholder. They then apologized for the accusation. Unfortunately, most credit card processing companies will "hold open" or "ping" a debit card, and sometimes a credit card, to make sure there are sufficient funds in the account to hold open a tab at a bar. This "credit check" has nothing to do with the establishment and seems to be a universal practice among credit card processing companies. Usually, this amount is $50, but it can vary. This is not a charge, but if one were to go home straight after visiting an establishment and check their account online or by phone, they would see a 'pending" charge. Often, this charge will "disappear" after a day or so. If it does not, then you should contact the establishment where the charge was processed and the bank that issued your card. It is unfortunate that this patron's review was posted before we at DDS could research and remedy her situation. I hope that they will return in the future and have a more satisfying experience. more

Good place but the waitress is shady 11/28/2008

My husband and I went to Double Daughters for a bite to eat and drinks. We enjoyed the pizza as always, and the DJ was pretty good too. We didn't stay long as we were moving on for the evening for dancing, paid with a credit card and left a tip in cash. Unfortunately, when we got home, we found out that our waitress had added her own tip to our bill. It was only the two of us, so there's no way it could have been an automatic group charge. Be careful with your waitress!!! more

Best palce in town 7/25/2008

not only is the staff amazing but the drinks are impeccable and the pizza is to die for. when you go you walk through two huge gold doors and come to place like Alice in wonderland. its got dim lighting that accentuates the red bar stools and tear drop like booths. behind the bar is a concoction that looks bl00d red they call it the house drink and it comes out of a space age type cylinder. but be weary when ordering this drink they only allow two per person. when your there be sure to say hey to Spencer you cant miss him he's the tall lanky blond mo-hawked manager who is l-a-1-d back and very impeccably dressed. out of all the bars on Lodo I'd say this is the best because they don't expect you to be anything more then who you came in as. as one of the best regulars i suggest you go check it out you might be surprised how amazing this place is and while your there have a teddy bear 0-r-g-y or a six toed kitten two really great martinis. Pros: Great service, amazing atmosphere, and awesome decor Cons: the yuppie crowd who comes in after specials more

Mediocre bar. 7/13/2007

The atmosphere at this bar is great. Unfortunately while my girlfriend and I were enjoying martinis there, a "patron" attempted to pick her pocket. Additionally their admittance policies are terrible. Two separate times my friends and I were denied entrance because we had temporary drivers licenses with us. I am well over 21. The management of this establishment needs to get their act together or their bar will suffer the same short lifespan of so many businesses in LoDo. more

Fantastic 3/22/2007

I LOVE this place! The atmosphere is unlike anywhere else in Denver. The staff is great, it's filled with interesting people, and you can always get the best pizza in Denver from Two Fisted. Definitely a jem among the usual LoDo clubs. Pros: atmosphere, staff, drinks, food, everything! Cons: in LoDo...? more

Tim Burton would be proud 9/25/2006

GREAT ambiance and drink menus, and Two-Fisted Mario's next door is delish (if only they delivered!) An absolute must for all your out-of -town guests. Pros: Ambiance and staff has personality plus Cons: Parking can be bad on weekend nights more

One of the coolest places in Denver 3/25/2006

Very cool place. I wish I would have found it before last call. I'm definitely going back to hang out there. The pizza next door is good too. Pros: Unique Decor, Cool Crowd, Non-smoking more

Awesome bar (railing)!!!! 3/28/2005

The fact that they have a BATTLE AXE railing, immediately stuck out in my mind; and solidified Double Daughters as my all time favorite bar. The staff were fast and friendly. The drinks are amazing and once again, the environment made it even better; escpecially since i didn't have to lose a lung in the process (non smoking)!! Pros: great drinks, Two-fisted Pizza, rad decor Cons: usually packed more

Denver's unsung best! 1/13/2005

Going to daughters is like stepping into another world. Everything is complete; the chilled-out music, the lighting, the incomparable decor, the distinct lack of pretentiousness among the sophisticated crowd (and staff), the interesting drinks, the fact that they serve pizza from Two-fisted! Really every time I have a friend in town this is the place I absolutely take them to show off, because it is the best thing Denver has to offer. Well, Double Daughters and Swimclub Ill write a review there too. Next time youre in Daughters try the rabid monkey, its made with sake, and it tastes like nothing else. Hats off to the people who work there for keeping this a solid haven from the rest of the lodo-frat & V.I.P. wanna-be type crowds. You are truly fortunate if you know about this place. Oh, great happy hour too (because thats important :-)! Pros: Happpy-hour, solid design and vibe, people Cons: , -, non-smoking? more
