Make me feel at ease 10/27/2010

The staff is always friendly and knowledgable. Our dog has a skin allergy and the vet recommended several different types of food to help with her licking. The associate we spoke with at Dog Lovers was not only knowledgable, but actually recommended a LESS expensive food for us than the one we told him we were originally considering. I, for one, would much rather shop at a family owned business than a big chain like Pet Supermarket, etc. I feel better knowing there are still some family owned, small businesses in the area. more

Great Place 10/25/2010

What a great locally owned store! They make you feel welcome and spent all the time I needed to get my questions answered, make a product selection, buy a treat, just anything. I was sent there by my vet because he said their knowledge of food was amazing and he was right, they helped me select a food that cleared my dogs skin problems right up. Thank you Dog Lovers, you've made my dog stop itching and he now has a beautiful coat! After reading some of the bad reviews I wonder if those people got up on the wrong side of life that day, and as for breaking something in a shop, shame on that person if they didn't offer to pay for it! Dog Lovers is a great shop, with a great selection, a big heart for the community, we need more like this in Tampa! more

They love your pet 10/18/2010

The female owner of the store is very knowledgeable about pet food and so is much of her staff. Yes, the food is more expensive than what you pay at super markets or low end pet stores, but that is because they handle higher quality pet food which is good for the health and well being of your pet. If you enjoy frequent visits to the vet and a shorter life for your dog buy Iams, Science Diet and Purina from the super market. If you really love your dog and care that he gets the best in nutrition for a long, healthy life pay the little extra for some good pet food. Your dog will love you for it. more

Dog Lovers, The Ultimate Dog Store By far the best specialty pet supply store in the Tampa Bay Area. For anybody that's ever had diet or allergy issues, this is the place that can provide sound advice. This place has everything for the novice, to the professional, in both supplies and education. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Fair prices. Extensive selection. Since I found it, I stopped having to search for special foods. I will continue to do all my shopping at this store to support a local business that can provide ""real"" guidance. Completely different experience than at the chain pet stores. more
