I am writing on behalf of Lawrence of Destination Real Estate. Lawrence recently showed me an apartment in Carroll Gardens and facilitated the rental process. My decision to rent this particular apartment was influenced by the fact that Lawrence was helpful and cooperative throughout the process. He always picked up the phone whenever we called with a question and picked us up where we were staying in order to look at places. They showed me a place early in the morning before i had to go to work, and then my roommate at 8:30 at night. I'm glad they were able to work around my schedule, which is something hard to find . yes they found me a reasonable apt at a reasonable price. however, doing business with them, particularly the lease, was a nightmare. it was one issue after the other. i also could hardly understand a word of what the realtor was saying to me--literally. not the brightest bulb. do yourself a favor. go somewhere else. the agent i dealt with just seemed sleazy/he needed to retire. (however the younger agents seemed to know what they were doing). moral: refuse to work with the older agent and you should be okay. maybe. With many low priced listings that sometimes lack in detail, I sort of expected this place to be a nightmare. ""You never get something for nothing"" I always say. I honestly must say that I was surprised with the level of the service here. I met at the office one morning and my agent took me around in his car to see a 2 bedroom apartment in Park Slope for me, my wife and my 6 year old daughter. The agent was very understanding to my 6 year olds patience level, which had been a problem with other brokers in the past. After Living and Working in the UK my entire life, I received a promotion/transfer opportunity to come the U.S.,The only conflict was that I was unable to come to the to view any living space. Luckily I did all communications via e-mail and with the help of my agent, I was able to get pictures, video walk-throughs, and floor plans along with information about the the area. Destination Real Estate has been handling my rentals since 2001. They have always screened my tenants above my expectations. They verify their place of employment, check their credit and does a housing court check. They treat my building as if it was their own by ensuring that the tenants are aware and follow the rules of my buildings. If there are any ambiguities Destination Real Estate is the first one to clear them up. They even goes a step further by having the tenant agree to show the apartment for re-rental at the end of a lease term while they are occupying the apartment, so I do not miss a day in rent once a tenant decides to leave. We highly recommend Destination Real Estate for all of your real estate needs. They were extremely helpful in finding me and my boyfriend our first apartment! We made one phone call after seeing their awning and made an appointment for 15 minutes later to check out a few places in Carroll Gardens. We fell in love with the second place they showed us. Me and my boyfriend explained that our credit had a blemishes from when we were in college (loans & over spending), but they assured us that they would do everything they could. As promised, We had a signed lease and keys within a day. They couldn't have done more to help. Great place, highly reccomended to all! These guys are really great, they managed to get me, my wife, and new born son into an apartment with keys, lease, full paper work, and credit check in about an hour. On top of that, the apartment was everything I could ask for and not that expensive either. Amazing service. When I moved last year, it took the broker over a week to get everything done. I was shocked to find out that I'd be able to move the same day, but I didnt mind, as I was in a hurry to move. When I moved into the apartment (a few hours later), the landlord had told me that he had just listed that apartment with them that morning which was pretty impressive. Hats off to Destination. To start off, these guys are probably the hardest working people in Brooklyn. The 9-5 workday does not exist for them what so ever. They will come as early or stay as late as you need them to. Tell me what other real estate will stay open till 12am on a friday night to just finish off your deal? ... That's what I thought. A+ to these guys, they are the definition of dedicated workers. This company is incredible. I saw all I needed to see within the first 3 apartments. The quality was so much better and at 10%, their fee was cheaper than most of those other so called ""name brand"" real estates.
