Mateo is the only person I let touch my hair! I always feel extra beautiful when he is done..:) I have thick Mexican hair, which is a pain to get right, but he does every time!

This place has changed my world. They make me beautiful and are artists. I have tried every salon in Spokane and will never leave this place. The Best Salon in Spokane - Hands Down :-) 12/2/2009

This is my 2nd review of Dept Z - once was not enough :-) Michael is my stylist and as long as he is here, I will never see anyone else. He listens to what I say (and I am a pain, I really am...trying to tell him what to do, how to do it, sheesh!), and I always walk out the door feeling like the prettiest female on the planet (OK, well at least in Spokane lol). He knows how I like to wear my hair and respects that, but being the amazing stylist that he is...he always throws in his own experienced twist on my look, and its always perfect! As a newly (2 yrs) single woman in my ... OK ... not saying my age LOL I very much need to feel like I have a current hairstyle and good color in order to feel good about how I look. Thank you so much to all of you who have posted your thoughts and support on city search. I am so moved and inspired by reading all of the reviews. We at dept. Z have an amazing team and are so thankful that all of you think so too... Mykul who gives the best bang in town...;) Jessica with the AMAZING personality, Elise the beautiful make up artist and myself who apparently gives a great Zoe job... ;) are so excited and hope to continually take care of all of you, make you feel great not only when visiting the salon but throughout the time until we see you again, hope you always feel welcome and honored, and that we all have fun and celebrate beautiful hair and fashion! Going to Zoe for a Consultation, Cut & Color is an experience every woman should have. It is like having a sculptor create you. Correct cut for face shape & correct color for skin shade is her forte. I receive compliments & inquiries all the time as to who does my hair. I can honestly say ""I don't know of ANYONE else I would allow to do my hair"". I have complete trust and faith in Zoe, Her Salon, Her Daugher Elise and her Staff . I am Proud to say ""Zoe @ deptz does my hair"" Pros: Zoe takes pride in her work & genuine care for her Clients. Excellent haircut 12/1/2009

Zoe has been cutting my hair for about two years. She is very professional, likes her job and does it well. I love the fact that I can be in and out in about 35 minutes. I only wish I could style my hair as well as she can. I've lived in Boston and San Francisco and seriously Zoe is a great find. I'm actually loath to tell anyone but I know that she wants to grow her business. When you do a good job you deserve the reward....Go Zoe! Pros: Zoe knows how to cut hair! more

Wouldn't go ANYWHERE ELSE!!! 12/1/2009

I have been going to Zoe for years and the new additions to the crew are fabulous! I can count on the perfect haircut even when I can't describe it and the perfect color even when I describe colors that I'm not sure really exist. If you're looking for a salon where it feels like family AND the final product is AMAZING look no further than the professionals at Dept Z. I won't go anywhere else! Tops. 12/1/2009

Over the past four years I have had my hair cut and highlighted by Zoe at Dept. Z. I am always treated hospitabliy-- surrounded by talented staff. Zoe has never sent me away without a proffessional cut. She is clearly an artist. She examines my face, considers my personality, and then goes to work-- designing with color, lines, and layers. Dept. z is the best salon that i have ever been to. Out of all of the salons that i have visited in spokane, Dept. z stands out the most. They have a great space and an amazing atmosphere. The people there are always very professional, get down to business, but still keep it personal. Every one there has a fantastic sense of style and i always feel like i am in good hands. i know that they people at dept. z will always keep me in style. i will never go anywhere else to get my hair done. Best Bang in town! 12/1/2009

OMG! Your going to die! I am a new client at Dept Z and the secret is out! Everyone at the salon wears a huge smile and tight jeans....and the salon feels like a little piece of Brooklyn. Zoe and her team are PHENOMENAL 11/29/2009

After hearing NUMEROUS referrals to Zoe from people both in the industry as well as her clients, I finally booked an appointment. Not only does the salon have a great atmosphere, but the entire staff are kind, courteous and professional. Being a bit obsessive about hair, I was surprised that Zoe was the first stylist of mine to ever really consider my facial proportions and explain which cuts could best accentuate my bone structure, as well as really being able to pinpoint colors that would best bring out my features and skin tone. I am so thrilled with my service, and am SO GLAD after two years, and 8 different salons and stylists, I have finally found someone who is truly talented! If you are tired of your hair and are looking for something different, Zoe is your stylist. Her consultation world class. She will spend however much time is needed to fully understand what you are trying to change before she begins. Then all you need to do is sit back, relax and let her work her magic. I've been a client of Zoe's for ten years for a reason, she's simply the BEST!!! Her talent and artistry is unsurpassed. I'm not exactly ""gifted"" when it comes to styling my hair but she always takes the time to show he how to make her fabulous cut look great, even when I'm the one behind the styling tools! I used to go to the local beauty school to get my haircut,I was never able to find someone who understood what I wanted until I found Jessica.She was a couple of months away from graduation ,I was so happy to hear that she was staying in the area.When I first walked into Dept Z I was made to feel special and was treated the same by everyone.Jessica and all the other stylists are very professional and fun.Of course I am very fond of Jessica, Ms. Personality.If you're looking for a new salon Dept Z is THEE place ! Amazing Find!! 11/24/2009

Wow was I happy to find Dept Z. I was i impressed the moment I walked in the door. The salon has a great feel to it. I was lucky enough to have booked an appointment with Jessica, and was very impressed by her attentiveness and professionalism, along with her great personality. She listened to what I wanted and proceeded to give me an incredible haircut. I've had so many compliments on my hair and am letting everyone who asks know about this super salon. I've gone through several hairstyles over the last few years and have finally found a true artist in Michael. He really takes the time to listen to what I want and then works his magic. Why would you go anywhere else? 11/24/2009

Like most of us, I have gone to many salons throughout my life. Zoe at Department Z is clearly the best. She understands design, and what looks best on each individual, at a level I have never experienced before. She takes the time needed to totally focus on the person in her chair, and the end result is spectacular. She is truly an artist, and a friend. Don't miss Department Z! Best haircut ever! 11/19/2009

I just got a haircut from Jessica this morning. She's new to the profession, but she is a total professional who takes her work very seriously. She takes her time to ensure that you are getting the best haircut ever, and her personality is wonderful. Pros: Attention to detail in the hippest salon in town. Cons: None that I can think of. more
