Dance 'N Things

We have three daughters and are very active in the dance and gymnastics communities. I would NEVER recommend this establishment to anyone. They have an absolutely horrible return policy. On one occassion, one of our daughters was sized inaccurately for tap shoes by the elderly man (I do not call him a gentleman because he is VERY, VERY rude) the shoes were too small for one daughter and too big for another. When we went back to get the right sizes, they did not have them in stock. We had to wait for them to order them and they would not allow me to return the unused shoes for the money we paid, exchange or store credit. We have ordered acro shoes and they come back with what looks like poorly cut rubber on the bottoms and glue all over them. He uses an X-Acto knife to cut out the rubber bottoms and the edges are all uneven and overflowing with glue. When you bring this to their attention, you are given nothing but attitude. I have two very young dancers (under 5) to buy for, and took them to Dance 'n Things for their attire and footwear at the recommendation of their instructor. I am very happy with how we were treated. There is a large variety of attire, shoes, and bags to choose from - definitely something to make everyone happy, moms and picky dancers alike. The shoes were fitted professionally, saving me from wondering if I chose the right size. Most of all, those working there couldn't be nicer. They were lovely to me and my children, and they continue to be so every time we stop back in. I know we will continue to purchase from this store for years to come. more

The staff at Dance 'N Things had usually been friendly. However, when I had a pair of shoes that I bought that were the incorrect style and I tried to return them a week later with the receipt, I was told no. The woman I spoke to was very rude and said I could only exchange them. However, they didn't have the right size and style in stock and had to order them. It would have taken 2-3 weeks to get them in. My daughter needed them the following weekend for a competition and another dance store in the area had the correct ones in stock. The woman said they would not do returns for cash even with the receipt because so many people bought them on Ebay and tried to return them as the originals to get cash back. While I understand the issue, I think that somehow they could mark the inside of the shoes somewhere to recognize if it is the one they sold. I took both of my daughters here for ballet shoes and the oldest was fitted w/ shoes that were really too wide for her. (her ballet teacher said) The youngest was fitted w/ shoes that were too tight on her toes. I had to go back the next day to get a bigger size. I'd rather do the fitting myself. \r Leotard selection was eclectic. Couldn't find the same style in more than one size. more

Dance N Things had everything I needed. Their selection of dance wear and shoes was amazing and they had professional shoe fitting on-site so you didnt have to worry about getting something uncomfortable. Employees are nice and the pricing is very reasonable. Their ad (Its worth the trip to Englewood) is trueits well worth the trip and time! more
