Great brisket 8/20/2009

The beef brisket was perfectly cooked, but the barbeque sauce has been watered down with vinegar. It almost looked like they poured barbeque sauce over it and then poured vinegar on top of that. Still amazing barbeque, though. Pros: Meat extremely tender; a little fatty Cons: Too much vinegar more

Worst BBQ in Colorado 5/18/2008

I went here the other day hoping for so good BBQ I was wrong. I had the overpriced brisket which was fatty and greasy, not to say the BBQ sauce was bad to. The guy took 20.00 from my friend so he not get to eat there gross food. That not good for buiness to steal from people who are buying food from you. My other friend ate there food to and said the chicken was very greasey. I do not recomend the place to anyone. Worst BQQ I had better at a fast food place. The owner was very rude to my friend that he stole the money from. Pros: nothing Cons: greasey food, rude staff. overpriced more

My first experience dictates that this guy needs money and business is not good. My buddies ordered and paid for their food. My mistake was giving the owner/server money before getting my food. He said I did not pay. My suggestion is that you pay after seeing the food in your hand. I was accused of not paying and after a brief tirade with the owner, I refused ""the supposed change,"" lost the $20 bill and walked out after being told to calm down. I refused the food. There's no reason I would walk into any establishment and walk out without receiving anything for the cash; unless I was straight out accused of stealing. Which I was. I spoke to his neighbors and they say the don't like the owner themselve. Contacting the business bureau. Cons: bad service, bad food more

Good ol southers style BBQ 6/6/2007

Growing up eating a lot of BBQ, this girl has a finicky palette. But if I ever get a hunger pain in the bottom of my stomach for BBQ, I go to Daddy Bruce's. It reminds me of my childhood when my cajun daddy would slow cook a big brisket and slop on the sauce @ serving time. Smokey meat and Tangy Sauce! Not to mention the man behind the name makes this little place worth visiting time & time again. more

Best Bar B Que in Colorado 4/11/2007

Daddy's Bruce's combines two great things together -- good food and good people. This is the same Daddy Bruce family that for so long ran the thanksgiving and christmas food programs to feed thousands of homeless. Daddy Bruce Senior was received humanitarian awards from Pres. Clinton before his death. As a small company, they have made Colorado a better place. Even if the food was just average, I'd still say go. Fortunately, this is the best BarBQue I've had anywhere in the US - even better than Texas BarBQue. The food is great and the people are even better. Pros: Great food, Great people, Quaint environment Cons: No parking, catering requires you pay cash more

Gee, it's kinda like pickled jerky! 3/28/2006

It's a beautiful spring day and I'm in the mood for some BBQ, but where to go? Not here, while the service is friendly and the atmosphere is just right for a good messa'ribs-I'm soon to be disappointed. With the wafting smells of BBQ and beans dancing in my head I purchase the ""Rib Plate"". This consists of 4 ribs, baked beans and slaw with some stale white bread for about $14 with tip. In and out in less than 10 minutes and some friendly service are the best I can say. I will admit that I only had ribs. I am going to back to try the pork sandwich in hopes of success. Pros: FAST, Cheap, Good Atmosphere Cons: Cash ONLY!, Not much on the menu, Sauce could use work more

Best Ribs in the US! 6/10/2005

I have been all over the united states and I have yet to find any rib even close to his. I wish that he would open another BBQ pit back on the east coast. Colorado is along way from NC just to get ribs. Pros: unique, down home, quick service Cons: too small, no location here more

Great BBQ 5/22/2005

This place has fantastic BBQ. It reminds me of the BBQ restaurants in Texas, with no AC and fairly small. I highly recommend this place to anyone who likes BBQ with a nice, rich taste. However, be sure to bring cash as that is all that they'll accept. If you have a large group be sure to get the food take-out. Pros: Great taste, Fast service Cons: A bit pricey, Only takes cash more

A Classic 8/29/2004

You go to Daddy Bruce's for good, traditional bar-b-que and you take it home to savour the flavors and share with friends/family. You won't find better que in Boulder. This is not really a sit-down joint, but, there ARE two stools, 1-2 small tables, and a piano if the spirit moves you. It's easy to miss Daddy's so look carefully on the south side of Arapahoe for his small white building and enjoy. Pros: Tasty bar-b-que more

Boulder has the best Texas BBQ 1/8/2003

I grew up eating BBQ in Austin, Texas but now live in Boulder, Colorado. I love Daddy Bruce's BBQ but always fondly recalled the great Texas BBQ of my youth. I took my family to central Texas over Thanksgiving and we visited every BBQ joint we could. Daddy Bruce's is better! Nobody can touch his ribs, the beef brisket has an intense smoky down home flavor, and his BBQ sauce is to die for. Pretty good coleslaw too. On the other hand, while BBQ joints are supposed to be funky, Bruce takes things a little far. His chicken is only fair, beans bad and forget the bread. Strictly take out. Pros: Best ribs anywhere, Great BBQ sauce, Take Out Cons: Limited menu, No beer!, Too funky more

My heart belongs to Daddy! 8/9/2002

Great food and a wonderful man who tries to feed the poor on holidays. I now live in San Diego but always go to this restauraunt when visiting my family. Pros: food, price, Daddy Bruce Cons: long wait for food, no real atmospher, restauraunt is small more
