Good food, well presented... and QUIET!! 4/3/2009

A good bar should have a lot of wood, a good beer selection, few tourists, and-- if there's music. It should be at a volume where it's easy to talk over. Pros: Good food, well presented... and QUIET!! Cons: limited draft beer choice more

A good bar should have a lot of wood, a good beer selection, few tourists, and-- if there's music. It should be at a volume where it's easy to talk over. Ear-splitting music works at a disco or a live show. It's STUPID at a bar. (And where you find ear-splitting music at a bar, you usually find lots of STUPID people.) This bar has plenty of wood, traditional Irish food (bangers and mash, Shepherd's pie, Chicken p*t pie (Citysearch will not allow the word!!!! Can you believe it?), presented beautifully, in large portions. The food was hearty, the drink good, if not in great variety, and the customers (except for us) seemed like regulars who enjoy conversation and drink. It's a nice relaxing choice in midtown. --Drinkclub NYC is a roving group of NYC drinkers. Pros: Good food, well presented... and QUIET!! Cons: limited draft beer choice more

Slow Service 11/16/2006

My girlfriend and I came here on a Wednesday. It was reasonable crowded drawing a mix of people, early 20's to late 40's. There are several tv's located throughout the bar and 1 larger screen. There is a decent food menu and the food is okay. The main problem was that the 1 bartender working the bar was very slow and instead of taking our drink orders decided to gab with other patrons. That type of service drops the rating a point or two. Cons: Poor service more

Great Dive Bar/ Restaurant 6/19/2005

This is truely an original NYC Irish pub. It has great food including fish and chips and soda bread, cheap drinks, and is open until 2AM and later (including the kitchen) seven days a week. more

It's conviently located in the heart of New York City right just steps away from lincoln center and columbus circle. It has warm and friendly atmosphere. The long mahogany bar stretches throughout the entire place offering a selection of thirteen beers on tap, it has a very cozy dinning room. This is an excellent place to come and enjoy a sporting event on one of its 6 plasma Tv's. The jukebox plays music all day long. The cuisine varies from mouth watering burgers and Dublin Style Fish & Chips to sizzling Steaks and Chops, Fresh Seafood dishes and a wide variety of Desserts. All at reasonable prices!
