This is one of my favorite parts of Long Beach. I am a staunch bargain hunter/tight wad/thrifty person. We got a Queen room with a giant jacuzzi tub in the living room for the lowest price I have seen anywhere in my LIFE. Staff was friendly and the rooms were clean looking and there was no lingering strange smells you might smelThe purpose of our trip was a leisurely, weekend tour of Los Angeles beach communities. My husband booked the room on the Internet and we knew the commitment involved. I was skeptical after reading the reviews and contacted Days Inn president’s office personally. We found the hotel on a major thoroughfare, not the best part of town, but certainly NOT "seedy" either. One of the first things I noticed was onsite security. Our room had been recently remodeled, was clean, the windows barred, and the neighborhood was quiet that particular weekend. Upon arrival and inspection, we did request newer sheets as those on the bed were very thin and pilled. Our request was responded to immediately. We stayed in a room with two beds and was perfect. TV reception was good. We found the refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, and a trip to Trader Joes sufficient for our needs. My husband was happy having a Wifi Internet access so most of his time was happily spent surfing the net. It was a very good value in our opinionl in other hotels. You can smell the beach from this hotel and it is with in very short walking distance from Walgreen's and Jack in the Box so you can walk down at any time of night and get something to eat. Also within 2 minutes driving are about 3 supermarkets, banks, and shopping centers. It is the nicest lowest priced hotel in the area and I'm already planning our next stay when we visit Long Beach again in June
