I enjoyed my visit w/ the doc and staff. They are very open and honest. A lot of fun to be around. Did a great job helping me pick out glasses. Many styles to choose from. And if there wasn't one in of the color I liked, they were able to special order me one. Great customer service!! Sending all my friends and family to this office. more

After my first visit I knew I'd not go to any other doctor again. The doctor was great explaining my prescription, and he really makes ya feel like he's concerned about you to the fullest. I had fun picking out my lenses being they have enough styles to choose from... after narrowing it down to 4 different pair I finally chose one that I absolutely adore. The staff is friendly and helpful... and the office is clean and makes ya feel right at home :) I'd recommend to everyone!!!! more

I had problems in the past with other doctors not getting my prescription just right. I was frustrated about this and my friend recommended me to this office. The doctor really took the time explaining and making me understand my eye condition. And the staff are wonderful! They make you feel right at home and always have a smile on their faces. They have a great selection in frames and the staff helps you get the perfect fit! Thank you!! more

Recently I needed help with my vision and I usually go to the chains. You know in and out. Decided that I need to upgrade my doctor. Well I made the right choice. Staff was friendly and helped me with everything. I called around to other offices and much of the people I spoke with on the phone either did not care or were rude. The doctor was very good at explaining that I did not have any major problems. Why did I rate 4 stars. Well they could not see me until 4 days after I called. But I have to admit it was worth the wait. Will use them and I recommend them to all my friends. more

Dr. O has seen all of my family members and we love him. He is very personable and really cares about eye health. I had a recent experience with eye pain and Dr. O was very dedicated to finding the source of the pain. He didn't just hand out an Rx without finding the cause of the problem. I was very pleased with the experience and would recommend him to anyone searching for an optometrist that cares about eye health. Don't settle for someone that is only in business to dispense glasses and contact lenses! Your vision is more important than that and Dr. O really seemed to care. more

My husband and I are very please with Dr. O and his staff. They were very kind and treated us like VIP's. The doctor listens to you about any eye problems and does a thorough check-up when you come in. They have state-of-the art equipment compared to other optomistrists. They don't rush you in and out of the office. When we picked up our glasses 1 week after our appointment, the glasses fit well and the prescriptions were correct. We have gone to other eye doctors and our prescriptions were always wrong and they had to redo our glasses. My husband and I are very pleased with Dr. O and his staff. I have never been in a place that will give you so much time and attention, all of the staff are very helpful. Dr. Oevermann was very good, I did not have to wait a long time in the exam room before he came in. He answered all my questions and was very reassuring. I spent a long time in the office after my exam picking out glasses and the ladies there were very nice. I have a very high prescription and I can not really see the new glasses on my face when I try them on, they have a camera there that they can use to take a picture of you with the glasses you pick out and you can put your regular ones back on and see what the new ones look like on the computer screen. I was completely impressed all of the technology in their office. It made the exam and the whole experience pain free and actually quite enjoyable, I will deffinatly be back next year and I am reccommending Cypress Family Eyecare to all my friends. more

Don't be deceived by the impression of the office when you first step in. You should only expect something totally opposite to what you see. Staff are extremely RUDE, LAZY & UNPROFESSIONAL in every way! I gave them almost two and half days to verify my insurance information, they did nothing but wait until you arrived there to start working. When they start working, they simply mess up everything. Can you believe that you will have to wait for over a hour for your 8:30am appointment in the morning? If you have better way to consume your time, please never go visit them. There are plenty of nice vision doctors in the area. At least I will never visit them again. more

Dr. Oevermann was a very nice person...his staff in his Cypress office are extremely RUDE & UNPROFESSIONAL in every way! If you buy a pair of glasses and have to take them back for any sort of corrections thats when the nastiness starts to show. After paying for my problem purchase the receptionist slapped my credit card hard on the counter. There were three front desk workers and all were rolling their eyes. Felt like I was in New York while in the small glasses boutique. more

I would agree with the other comments made about this place and the doctor. Top of the line place. I had been to two other doctors with my eye hurting and the other doctors kept saying it was allergies. When I went to see dr. Overmann he said I had allergies but I also had a condition blepharits (sp?). This was the underlying problem and the allergies were a symptom. I was not too sure, but I followed his advice of the warm compress with lid cleaning for about 2 weeks.\r \r Guess what? the problem went away without any medication like the other doctors had prescribed. \r \r Dr. O told me he could prescribe better medication but it would not help as much as the therapy he told me about. I found that refreshing that he gave me alternatives, instead of prescribing some medication and getting me out of the office.\r \r Oh, he did say that this condition would get better and get worse with the allergy seasons and I would have to keep up this routine off and on to keep in under control. I don't think I like that. He also said if I find a better method to let him know so he can share this with the rest of his patients. :-) Pros: Solved my problem and more Cons: he can be blunt and to the point more

I have VSP and was trying to find another location that took my insurance. I googled cypress optometrist and got cy fair eyecare called them and they were rude and short on the phone. Called cypress family eyecare the second one on the list. They were nice and took my insurance. Nothing big or unusual. Wanted a saturday appointment because I work all week long. did not have one for 2 weeks took the appointment because the person on the phone was nice and sounded real friendly. \r went to my appointment and wow was I impressed. this place looked expensive and new. i asked how long they have been here and they said that they redid the place about a year ago. doctor was good, staff was better answered all my questions and was not pushy at all. Pros: great staff and office Cons: had to wait 2 weeks for my appointment more

I have been having dry eye problems for the last 7 years. Every time I go and see someone about my dry eyes they give me tear drops and tell me that will help. THEY NEVER DOOOOOOOO! finally I found doctor overman after a friend of mine had seen him for her dry eyes.\r \r He did a thought exam and prescribed natural tear drops as the other doctors but he also prescribed restasis which I had never heard of before.\r He explained that the restasis would help, but it would take 1-2 weeks before I saw a difference. WOW, it has been 3 months and for the first time in 7 years I CAN WEAR MY CONTACTS AGAIN.\r \r Pros: helped my with my dry eyes!!! more

I saw the other reviews and wanted to see if they were true or not. I was getting tired of wearing my contacts and wanted laser correction. Dr. O talked to me about what laser vision could and could not do for me. He was up front and honest that it would not correct my near problems. He said I would still need to wear store bought readers to see up close after the age of 40. I asked, If I could get my prescription somewhere else and he said ""OK we don't live in Russia, you can do what you want"". He said that he would provide better service than the other places that I went but it was up to me. Pros: honesty Cons: had to wait 1 week to get in more

I was having a problem with my vision and thought I need to have a new prescription for my glasses. I saw the other posts and though I would give this person a try. Nothing unusual about the place, nicer than others that I have been to. They took pictures of the inside of my eyes, which was different.\r \r The real surprise was when the doctor finished the exam and told me, I had diabetes and that is why my vision was changing. He showed me on the pictures little red spots and said that these were bleeds in the eye.\r \r He referred me to my internist and after having a batter of test confirmed that I was diabetic.\r \r Every other optometrist that I have been to in the past just wanted to sell me glasses. This doctor did something different. Pros: Honest and upfront Cons: did not sugar coat what I had. more

I have been seeing doctor Dr. O (as I call him) since he was downtown. I live in clearlake and will travel to see him. When he moved from downtown, I swore that I would not drive out to see him. After seeing 2 other doctors and wasting many visit with them, I found my way to his office. With one visit, he was able to fit me in some new bifocal contacts that have been working great! I recommend him to all my friends! Pros: Always solves my vision problems with a great attitude. Cons: His office is way to far from my home, but worth the drive. more

What an experience I had at this eye doctors office. Staff was wonderful. Ask for laura. she went out of her way to find this great pair of glasses that no one else had in town. You just don't get this type of service from the big chains or may I say the W word. Pros: Great customer service Cons: hard to find more

I was eating at a restruant next to this office and got something into my eye. Dr. Overman saw me right away and took a peice of plastic out of my eye.\r \r THANKS for being there. I live on the other side of town and will drive all the way to see this doctor. I have told all my friends about this truly amazing doctor. Pros: Highly educational and down to earth more

I have always had trouble with contact lenses. Dr. Overman fit me in a new type of lens that you can sleep for 30 days. wow. it has been so wonderful not to have put my glassses on in the morning. He also told me that I was a canidate for that laser stuff. maybe next year.!! Pros: First time contact and bifocal wearer Cons: what took me so long to find this place more
