I requested an estimate from Custom Painting Inc, and the owner is the one who came out to give it. I had a series of questions I asked him, as I asked the other companies I interviewed. I liked the straightforward answers he gave me for the specific questions I asked. I didn't get that from the other two people I interviewed. I felt he was direct and honest, and I had a gut feeling. So right there on the spot I accepted his offer, or he accepted mine. It was the first time I used Custom Painting, and it was actually the first time I hired anyone to do painting. I was having a problem around the perimeter of most of my walls. It was peeling up near the ceiling, and nobody seemed to be able to figure out what it was. In the meantime I had the idea of having crown molding installed, and I asked the owner of Custom Painting if he thought that would work. He said it would work perfectly, and they installed the molding as a part of the job they did. They really did an excellent job! The three young men came and worked here for about three or four days. It ended up taking a day less than they estimated it would be. The three young men were very polite and went about their business. They didn't do a lot of chatting, but they had really good teamwork. They were very considerate, and they cleaned up after themselves. I was very pleased with the entire experience! It wasn't the lowest bid I got, but they did an excellent job! more

Custom Painting Inc. has done two jobs for us so far. They painted our entire house and did some repair work. We were so pleased with our first experience that we hired them again to do more paint work and repair work. Everything came out looking good. The workers were very professional. We were very happy with the service. This is an honest and reliable company. We would recommend them to friends and family. more

Custom Painting Inc. painted the entire exterior of our house. They did a really great job. We were recommended to them by a neighbor who was also pleased with their work. We dealt mostly with Mark. He provided us with a quote, which matched the final price. He was also very helpful with the selection process, as we were completely changing the color of the house. He gave us some starting points to look at. It was much easier than trying to visualize what we didn't know. The painters arrived at our home when they said they would. They did very neat work. They covered everything they needed to, as promised. The project took a couple of days, but all of it was completed on time. Mark came by on the last day and did a walk through with me. Custom Painting Inc. has done a lot of jobs for me. They have done the exterior of my house totally and they have done a deck for me. They have done a number of the interior rooms of the house, including removing the old popcorn-type application from the ceilings in several rooms. The house is quite old. They have also put in molding for me. They've done just about everything you can think of. The jobs have gone from very well to excellent. They've been here many, many times and they are never exactly the lowest bidder, but they have proven to put in probably a superior job. The gentleman I dealt with in terms of the supervisory activity is Mark. The young man who did the last two jobs is very good and comes back later on if he can't be here the entire time to go over everything. If there is an issue with anything, he will take care of it. They're not necessarily the lowest bidder. They're always somewhere in the middle. I don't get bids anymore, but I used to get two or three bids for each job. Custom Painting isn't the cheapest, but they always turned out to be by far the best. I would tell people that they should really consider them even if the price is a little bit higher. They should consider the back up, the follow through, and the general quality of the job. more

Working with Custom Painting was very simple and easy. Mark came by and gave us an estimate. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. He helped pick out the color of the house. His crew was efficient, looked clean, did a great job, and cleaned up after themselves. We didn't pay until the job was done and there were no unexpected costs. It was a wonderful experience. We got a couple of estimates from other companies, but we were happy with the information he gave us and the service he recommended we do. Our ceiling turned out lovely. This company was great. This is the second time Custom Painting paints my entire condo. The first job they did for me was about six or seven years ago. I needed the second paint job because I had some re-piping done and there were big marks all over the walls and ceiling. I liked them the first time, and that's why I called them again. They did a very nice job both times. They do their job well, they clean up before they leave, and I have no complaints about them. They have been in business for a long time, so they know what they're doing. I'm so pleased with them that I've recommended them because they are very worthwhile recommending. more

I got the name of Custom Painting Inc. from my neighbors across the street. I got their number and called and spoke with Mark. They quoted me a quote that was substantially less than another company I had gotten a quote from, I'm not sure if it was because I had said I knew the neighbor or not but the quality of the work was fantastic. There were 2 young men that came and they were fabulous. The prep work, power washing and filling in the paint all showed superior workmanship, they worked their butts off. The paint job was wonderful. After that job, I had built a studio in the back yard that I planned to use as an office and I had them paint that too. Two different people came that time but the work was still fantastic. more

Very competitive price. They showed up when they were supposed to, as scheduled, and they were very professional. They cleaned up on a daily basis and got done within the time-frame they said. I even scheduled them for some extra work thereafter, some things out of the scope of the project that I thought initially were going to be included. more

Custom Painting Inc painted the exterior of our house. They showed up on time. They did what they said they were going to do. They were very helpful. I actually showed them a house down the street that I liked and he was able to match the house exactly. My husband had a couple of things that needed to be addressed and he came back the next day and fixed them. The whole process was smooth. more

Custom Painting Inc. did our ceiling. Our neighbors found them and used them first and liked them, so then we used them. They worked quickly and were finished ahead of schedule. They were very good at touching up the paint and cleaning up after themselves. We would definitely use them again for any future work we might have. more

The owner of Custom Painting Inc. underestimated the costs of the paint job and I felt the whole project lacked good communication. When the workman showed up, he asked me how many sidings the owner estimated had to be replaced and I told him I did not know the number of panels, just the price, so he replaced whatever he saw fit. He did 22 or 23 panels instead of the 13 or 14 proposed in the estimate so it was an extra $4000 dollars. I did not feel it was an honest estimation and I feel he gave a low bid to get the bid. When the worker asked me that question, I was shocked he did not already know the answer from the owner and he should have come prepared to do the job. It was not a truthful transaction and I would never recommend them. RESPONSE FROM Custom Painting Inc: Custom Painting removed sheets T1-11 siding and 1x4 trim around windows and doors that had dry rot and we painted the exterior of her home. Marjorie was very happy with the quality of our work and also very happy with my employees. She was not happy with me (Mark Thissell the owner of the company). Marjorie said that I gave her a bad estimate on the wood repairs. The cost of the wood repairs did get higher as we started removing the bad wood, and I did tell her when I gave her the estimate that the wood repairs can go up in price because we may not be able to see all the damages from the surface. We did discover more damaged wood once we started the repairs and I did tell Marjorie that her cost of the wood repairs will be higher than originally quoted. The total cost of the repairs to the damaged siding and trim was not determined 100 until the work was completed. Marjorie thought I under estimated the original cost of the repairs but it was impossible to foresee all the damages to the house. more

They do the work as asked and on time. I did consider other competitors but went with Custom Painting. They were prompt, courteous, and professional. I would recommend them. more

I originally got an estimate in July of 2011 and did not get the paint job done till September, due to roof damage. He was willing to stick to the original quote. He even came over to the house and picked out the colors with me, which all our friends have complimented us on. The painters with Custom Painting Inc were at our home for more than 8 hours a day, and came back to cover any spots. The price wasn't cheep but it was worth the extra money. more

Two guys from Custom Painting came when they said they were going to come. It took two days to complete our house painting project. On the second day, one guy left and one guy stayed to finish it up. I was really impressed with the work they had done and the work the last guy completed. It looked great. I appreciated that the owner came by to check out the job before signing off on the finished job. Overall, I liked that they really cared about doing a good job. I highly recommend them to anybody! This was the second time we've used Custom Painting Inc. Overall, the experience was great, just like the first time. They are very responsive to our phone calls and were able to fix it right away, we didn't have to wait weeks for them to schedule us in. Our upstairs neighbor had a major leak and it came down into our place. We called Custom Painting to come out and give us an estimate for the damage to the baseboards and walls. There was one minor issue, and they came out quickly to fix it. They might be a bit pricey for some, but I think it's well worth the money you pay. They are professional and fast at getting the work done. Everything looks beautiful! more

Custom Painting was great! It was a difficult job to do because of the timing: they had to do it at night, and the lighting wasn't always the best. Also, with items that could have been sprayed they could not because of food around so they had to use a brush and work around that. They did a great job! Overall for their painting, I'd give it a 4, and I'm quite particular. more
