We had the sangria, the duck pate, the brie en croute, the tuna tartare.. MMMM! Their signature drink menu was ASTOUNDING. Will definitely go back but watch out--it gets pricy q...

not quite russian 8/15/2005

Russian themed maybe? But menu is quite diverse. The food is served with lots of class but not necessarily high. Very pricey and hard core cocktails that are extremely tempting because the decor and staff seem quite extravagant. Bring your feather boa and diamonds. We all know the place is all for show but might as well dress up and enjoy it anyway. more

Odd fare 8/12/2005

Talk about tapas type food in every style. The beef stroganof is a bit odd. All the portions are tiny and meant to be shared, I think. We arrived a little early, before their dinner start. The place fills up really quickly. Food was a little salty. Amusing place to bring friends, but a little pricey. Parking is readily available and is close to public transportation. more

Editorial
  • The Scene
A glass brick wall between the dining room and bar produces space for two different scenes, one focused on food, the other on chatter. The decor mixes design cliches -- half Art Nouveau bistro, half PoMo bar -- but decorating sins are swept away by convivial drinking and dining.

    The Food
Cuchi Cuchi points to tapas dining for its inspiration, and a handful of dishes (garlic shrimp, grilled asparagus) are classic. But most plates show more finesse than your average Spanish bar food. A couple of plates per person makes for a fine meal; it's up to you if you're willing to share the braised duck shank or the fruit-stuffed pork tenderloin slices with your tablemates. The wine list is artfully chosen, and the designated driver can drink sparkling Normandy cider.
