Billing fraud 6/17/2011

My husband went to this facility for a screening procedure. I also had the same screening procedure at a different facility. The bill for my husband was $2,000 more than my procedure; $600 of that bill was considered our reasonability. When I called the customer service and spoke to R.R. and asked him how two screening procedures could have such differences in cost he explained that while Multicare tries to stay competitive, they cost more than other medical healthcare facilities. R.R. said they would do an audit. I contacted Blue Cross fraud department. They discovered that Multicare had falsely billed it as a medical procedure, not a screening procedure. A call to my husband’s physician verified that this procedure was ordered as a screening, not medical procedure. The bill was adjusted. A couple of weeks later I received another bill from Multicare for $600as well as their audit. Their response is as follows; The audit found that all items were billed correctly for the account were billed correctly and have supporting documentation in the Medical Record. Health systems set their own unique prices for procedures, which would explain the difference between the other facility. Therefore, no changes will be made to this account. I again contacted R.R. in customer service. He stated the bill was sent out before blue Cross findings. When I expressed concern regarding his investigative audit and it’s lack of correctness he stated it was upper management that conducted the audit . more

Worst Customer Service! 4/29/2011

There has been several occasions that I've called and was treated poorly. I have absolutely perfect insurance and don't pay anything out of pocket so it wasn't like I was mad about billing. I am a very reasonable normal person, and all I wanted was to be seen for an illness, but the receptionist said that because I didn't go to the doctor on a regular basis I couldn't get in to the Family Practice to be seen. I have no other Doctor! What is she talking about? So I was forced to sit an wait in Urgent care. Not only did this not make any sence to me, but she was completely rude to me about it. But of course I was nice back! Ugh..\r Another time I called to get a prescription filled for my husband, She called him and have him attitude about how he hadn't been seen by Dr. Chan since 2009 and so she wasn't going to fill the prescription. My husband was seen 6 months ago by him! The receptionist said that was a different Dr. Chan. ???? What??? Does this make any sence??? Well not to me. I'm pretty sure he has only gone to one Dr. Chan. After all the crap I am now happily going to Auburn Valley. Now I can actually see a Doctor when I need to instead of constantly going to Urgent care whenever anyone is sick and dealing with that crazy receptionist. Is customer service truely dead? It is in the medical field! more

MultiCare - Horrible customer service and no accountability 4/23/2008

I went into a the Covington MultiCare urgent care clinic in November 2007 for a cough - 6 months later, I am still trying to resolve billing issues and have nearly $400 in charges, after insurance coverage. I filed a dispute because I received three bills for one visit and was told it would be resolved in writing within 45 days, per the MultiCare Patient Rights & Responsibilities policy, which is posted on MultiCare's website. It has been nearly 60 days, and I had to call three times for them to tell me that my dispute was basically ignored, and they didn't care that my patient rights had been violated. \r \r I was told that I should have located and read the sign they have somewhere in the clinic stating that I would receive multiple bills; a supervisor I talked to actually said to me, ""There was no way our staff could have known that you'd never been there before and didn't know how our billing works."" Ironically, I had actually told the admitting staff that I had moved recently and...had never been there before! To top it all off, my cough was misdiagnosed, and I ended up back at the doctor a couple of miserable weeks later (luckily I found a better place the second time around). Thanks for nothing, MutliCare. Stay away, whatever you do. Cons: Long wait, poor care, doctor was rude and misdiagnosed me, billing problems, exorbitant charges, and poor customer service - this business doesn't care about you more
