A good friend first referred me to Catherine at Colour Room, and I was really happy with the results. I first was shampooed and received a very relaxing scalp massage by one of the technicians. Next, Catherine performed 4 processes on my hair -- root color to hide my outgrowth, highlights, lowlights, and a shiny glaze. She then did a blowdry and flatiron job for free. The total cost for my visit was around $160 -- and I have many friends who spend $200 for highlights alone. I'll definitely return! more

I had my hair cut and highlighted by Catherine, the owner. I wasn't sure what I wanted, so I just told her I was in the mood for a change and left it up to her. I am very pleased. She gave me natural highlights (I have black hair and she just lightened with a brown) and a short cut that complemented my features. She also trains her staff weekly, so I would feel comfortable with any of them. more

This is a very popular salon that fills a niche. It does nothing but hair coloring. They have a great reputation, and the salon is modern and chic. The color room can offer hairstyles, but usually they are designed around color streaks, a bold rinse, or just covering your grey. It's a little costly, but you wanted your hair to look natural and be done by an expert, didn't you? PROS: specialists in color! CONS: more

I recently moved here from Chicago (where I spent big bucks on high-end salons), where hair is a big deal. Catherine, owner of the Colour Room, is an expert in the science and art of coloring and cutting hair. I am EXTREMELY happy with both the color and cut she gave me and would put her talents up against the best. The salon itself is chic, yet comfortable, and it was an all around win. catherine, the owner of the salon, is simply the best colorist you can find. i lived in new york for years and went to the most highly ranked colorists there - catherine is better than any of them. i've referred multiple people to her, who have similarly been completely thrilled with her work. the rest of her staff is A+++ as well. more
