Editorial review from Citysearch 9/8/2013

This was the WORST place that I've lived in - Especially for how much I paid for so called luxury living. I've had years of apartment living and had to deal with rude and ineffective leasing girls. Circa Green Lake not only had rude and incompetent leasing girls, so was the management.\r \r For the first 6 month of living at Circa Green Lake, there were 9 false fire alarms. Since it's a fairly new building, the fire alarm is Extremely Loud, and in my unit, there were Bright, Bright Strobbing Lights. The fire alarm went off in all hours night (and day). Apparently the fire alarm went off a total of about 13 times over the course of 9 months - that should be a blatant sign of the incompetence of management. There was a quiet period of a couple of months, then the fire alarm would go off multiple times until the Fire Department forced Management to do something about it, because otherwise, they would not. It was only after a group of residents began talks of legal action that management took sufficient action to stop the false fire alarms.\r \r So between the numerous false fire alarms and a loud, rude neighbor, it was impossible to consistently receive a good night's sleep. \r \r There were other examples of the incompetence of the leasing office. In order to get a parking space, I had to go to the leasing office half a dozen times. One of the reasons for this is their incompetent tracking system for which resident is in which parking spot.\r \r In general, the leasing staff just said what residents wanted to hear (so lying yes), and were rude at times. I hate living in a place where the leasing staff/management are rude because I want my home to be a place that I look forward to coming home to, and that I associate with being a peaceful place. But at Circa Green Lake, home became a place where I couldn't expect to get a good nights sleep, where I had to deal with rude, lying, incompetent leasing staff. \r \r To add insult to injury, Circa Leasing Office, did not close our my electric bill until a few weeks after the end of my lease, so they stuck me with Their bill.\r \r more

I disagree..... 5/20/2011

I disagree Xman7601. I have lived at Circa for a year now and have loved it! The office and maintenance staff have been friendly and make coming home from work enjoyable. Whenever I have a maintenance need it is repaired immediately. I will admit, I did not have my keys after returning from a trip once and I as well was locked out. It was a pain and I was really mad at the situation. But, it is not their responsibilty to let me in at 2am. I slept in my car since I had to be at work 5 hrs later! LOL The staff let me in at 8am and offered me coffee and helped me with my bags. The afterhours maintenance was for emergencies only. As for price, I refuse to live in an old apartment ran by some private owner who won't care if I need a light bulb changed. I attend the monthly Circa gatherings and enjoy having friends in the community. Well, I just wanted to express my feelings just as you did. Well wishes to you Xman7601 but you do not speak for everyone. In my line of work I know it is more likely someone complain than compliment. Peace, love, happiness, and prosperity unto you and everyone that may read our postings. more

Run the Other Way! 5/15/2011

Lived here for 1 1/2 years. Staff ranges from clueless to downright dishonest. Circa advertises 24 hour maintenance but forgot to tell their maintenance staff - twice I had a emergency in the middle of night or on weekend and no one responded. Once I came home late from an all day flight from Europe and couldn't get the gate to open - I finally gave up waiting for someone and spent the night in the hotel (no, they didn't reimburse me). This place is way overpriced for what you get. I can't believe what I paid for a studio apartment. I now have a newer, nicer 1 BR just down the street for less money. The apartment finishes and appliances are very low quality. The dishwasher is so loud you have to leave the apt while it's running otherwise you can't hear yourself think. Washer and dryer are tiny and also loud. Very little cabinet space in the kitchen. They advertise free wi-fi on the roof or clubhouse but it rarely works. The final insult to injury was the keeping of $50 out of my security deposit for "miscellaneous charges". I left the apartment so clean and pristine you could eat off of every surface! It was just one more excuse to suck more blood before I left. Good riddance. more
