Breakfast at Circa 55... I had the Huevos Rancheros.. this is one of my favorite meals for breakfast, I was all excited. What a let down!!! I thought the portion was perfect, but the taste was bland and soggy..for the price I expected so much more! The Atmosphere is what makes this place, the food comes in second at best. Our host and server were very nice, but overall - Don't believe the hype!! more

The Place Not to Impress 6/28/2010

I can no longer entertain clients at the Beverly Hilton's Circa 55. Cons: Terrible food; non-existent service more

Not bad for a hotel restaurant 5/20/2008

The evening service was horrible. A waiter with a superiority complex ignored us most of the evening. Instead of coming over to the table to ask if we were okay, he'd mouth it from a distance. When we wanted to ask for something, he would take his time making his way over to us. It wasn't just us; he did it to others in the restaurant. I know; I know; it's a hotel restaurant, what do I expect? Service--good, attentive, respectful and courteous service. The food was fine, as was the wine selection. It's a shame they don't have the same wonderful wait staff that covers breakfast working in the evenings. Better to get room service! Pros: If one is a hotel guest, the convenience of location; breakfast service staff is outstanding. Cons: The evening (dinner) service. more

Just not getting it right 3/5/2008

Went there with 5 girlfriends for Restaurant Week. Firstly, the menu they advertised for dineLA had totally changed and they had taken off the foie gras option and replaced all the other options with much cheaper dishes - we were told that because the Golden Globes was cancelled, it was a huge loss to the Hotel and so they were taking budget cuts everywhere - DEFINITELY not something you want to tell someone - basically telling us that we were getting cheaper food for the same price. Most of chose the sirloin option which came with an inedible attempt at risotto and terrible sauce on the steak - we actually had to ask for additional steak sauce and ended up with A1 as our preferred option. Drinks were weak. When asked if everything was ok, we gave several listed items of constructive criticism and yet, other than a ""I'm sorry"" nothing was comped - we didn't even get a free drink. Waiter was good.. but the whole experience left a terrible taste in our mouths. The food was very mediocre and the atmostphere was definitely lacking. Would not go back or recommend to anyone. Pros: Nice Decor Cons: Food, drinks, customer service more

One Word- WOW!! 8/16/2007

My husband and I heard about the new Circa 55 many times from our friends but never had the chance to get down there. Finally we were kid free and made it. OMG! the food was delicious and the services was wonderful. We started with the Dim-Sum (so tasty I wanted to order another one) and the Lobster Tempura was yummy! I had the Halibut for my entree and I like spices in my food this was to die for, just the right taste. My husband had the Seafood Fried Rice, he told me that he will never order any other Fried rice but there's, the seafood was very fresh and the shrimps were HUGE! The drinks!! We order some from the Trader Vic's Lounge and they were very tasty with just the right amount of alcohol in them. The DJ was pretty good as well. Over all the whole night was wonderful the atmosphere was great with the pool view so relaxing and enjoyable. My husband and I can't wait for another night out at Circa, were actually thinking of staying in a room this time the hotel looks amazing! Pros: Parking is $5 bucks! can't bet that in BH! Great place overall! Cons: Not kids friendly (but thats okay) more

Nice Pool View 8/10/2007

We had dinner at there last week with some friends and had a great time. We had some great appetizers, I recommend the crab cake. We also tried the Halibut and the Thai noodles; both were great accompanied with friendly service. We loved the retro decor. Pros: Parking was only $5.00 with validation more

Good Food, Drinks & Music Poolside! 8/8/2007

We had dinner and drinks on a Thursday night and had an amazing time! We started off with sushi for appetizers, the Lobster Ceviche roll was divine, tangy ceviche layered on top of a delicious lobster roll and split the sashimi for 2, which had a good mix of fish and was a decent portion for each of us. They have a new menu they are starting to roll out, which was terrific, more of a pan-asian flair. I had the halibut as my entree, it was excellent. My friend had the Mahi Mahi which was okay, my halibut was much better. Throughout dinner there was music playing somewhere near the pool, as we were heading out we noticed a DJ playing in Trader Vic's lounge, we ended up heading over there and finished our night lounging poolside, listening to an awesome DJ, sipping Mai Tai's! I definitely will be going back! Pros: great food, good service, poolside location! more

Beautiful setting 4/16/2007

Co-workers and I went to Circa 55 after work. Very good experience with the appetizers, drinks and ambiance. We were able to sit both inside and near the pool and enjoyed ourselves with conversation. In the evening they had a DJ on the roof who played fun music while displaying videos on the hotel wall. more

Hip, Unique poolside spot! 4/10/2007

I went here for a work happy hour and was very pleased. The ambiance is so relaxing. The food and drinks are very unique and fun, very different from your typical bar fare . You really feel like you are a Californian when you are sitting poolside with your martini and the lights hitting the palms. The service was on top of everything. A very nice place to go in Beverly Hills. Pros: Nice amiance more

Beverly Hills 90210 5 STAR World class taste in SPIRITS, FOOD, and SERVICE!!!!, Sit by the Pool and ENJOY the EYE CANDY!! 4/10/2007

WOW!!! What a cool spot!!! I had the Mojito and it was done up with sparkling water that added an even extra flair to the drink. All of a sudden both of the big V.P.'s of my company decided to order it as well after seeing how much I was bragging about it. It is a very elegant and even hip spot to have a happy hour with friends and or coworkers. Your parking is validated for FREE for 4 hours in BEVERLY HILLS..That alone makes having one drink seem like it is on the house. The outdoor patio by the pool is perfect for big groups that want to be loud and jovial and or just chill out and take in some meditation as you look at the eye candy all about you. I had a taste of the Spicy Tuna and California Rolls and they were impeccable. Above all, the service was first class as all the servers went the extra mile attaining to our big groups needs. One server was even carrying a coffee mug giving refills to people that thought they had one too many..If you are in Beverly Hills..Check it out the CIRCA MARTINI with a splash of Pomegranite and Orange was defintetly delicious as well.. Pros: Ambience, Parking, Service, Fine Cocktails and Martinis, SUSHI!!!! Cons: They Need Patio Heaters on the breezy california nights. I was to go back inside more

I love this place!!!!! 4/10/2007

I've been to the Beverly Hilton many times and I recently popped downstairs to Circa 55. What a find! Overlooking the pool, the restaurant and bar have totally been remodeled and are beautiful. My girlfriends and I went on a Thursday late afternoon and took advantage of the tasty treats they had to offer. The mojitos are delicious and the free snacks are just as good. I cannot wait until summer so I can take full advantage of our new hangout. Pros: Great Place to Relax for the Summer! more

awsome atmosphere 4/10/2007

What a great place for a bar-- around a pool at the Beverly Hilton! Wow. The food was as good as any restaurant in town and the drinks are great. It's the perfect place for a date, or to just go chill with friends for Happy Hour. Good service and no attitude. more

Loved It 4/10/2007

This was one of the best lounges I have been to in LA. The atmosphere was great (cozy couches, indoor & outdoor seating). The staff was exceptionally nice and attentive and the drinks were phenominal. I am going to have go go back in the summer to take advantage of the beautiful pool side. I loved it and will be back. Pros: pool, drinks, service Cons: absolutely none more

When you think of LA.... 4/10/2007

Circa 55 is the type of spot you think of without the attitude. A great retro feel to this establishment complete with poolside couches, palm trees and Olympic sized swimming pool. We had a post work happy hour gathering with outstanding service and excellent cocktails. This is a super gathering for small or large groups, social or business situation. I will be back again! Pros: Ambience, Valet Parking, Service, Poolside more

Great atmosphere and service 4/10/2007

The cocktails were delicious and service exceptional during a recent business event. The music was kept at a volume that allowed conversation while at the same time providing an upbeat atmosphere. The staff is approachable and enjoyable to be around. I would hold another event here. Pros: Fantastic mojitos Cons: Limited wine selection more

Great ambience/awesome cocktails/staff 4/5/2007

I have never been to the Hilton before, because it seems to look old from the outside. Recently I went for a happy hour to Circa 55 and WOW! What an amazing place for cocktails. We all enjoyed fabulous drinks and food by their pool. I loved the atmosphere! I would highly recommend this place for after work drinks and the staff was very accomodating. 5 stars for Circa 55! Pros: Cocktails/Staff/Ambience/Pool more

great lounge 4/5/2007

Recently went here for happy hour, its a great space and I cant wait to actually go back when the weather is a little nicer, as you can sit either in the lounge or pool side - even while in the louge you feel like you are outside. The staff was very attentive which was great because we were a very large group there. Also there were all kinds of people there from us ""afterwork types"" to people in jeans...I would say check it out. Pros: staff, pool area more
