The supervisor Lonnie is a racist sexist pig. He called a patron the n word and told her to S*** H** D***.. He is very bold for such a coward. The management is also very dismissive and racist. People of color shouldn't patronize this bar. more

great location, cozy atmosphere, perfect date spot. Very romantic. Ask for the key lime martini if its not on the menu. Soooooo good. Pros: key lime martini Cons: hard to get a seat sometimes more

Best Mojito 4/2/2009

I have lived in NY for the past 12 years and cant believe I just found this place! The bartender suggested one of his latest creation ""the CIBAR MOJITO"" cant remember all of the ingredients,basil and spiced rum is the best I can do...but Im going back to find out! 2 fireplaces, cozy couches and the cutest garden,and get this..a polite staff. The bartender made me feel so comfortable while I was waiting for my lame 40 min late first date, even though he was very busy..nice touch. Great music too! Pros: really nice staff,excellent drinks, has garden too! Cons: hard to find more

The drinks are still good, but I have gone a few times in the last couple months, and the frat-element to the scene seems to be on the rise, and the atmosphere is more obnoxious than it is chill. more

Great place to have a get together... 9/15/2008

I recently planned a birthday get together at Cibar and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Lenny, the manager, was very helpful and efficient both behind the bar and in greeting all my guests, making them feel welcome. The drinks are sooo good (yummy lemonade martini) and the food is surprisingly really delicious... Everyone that attended said they loved the ambiance, the laidback lounge vibe, and smoking garden... and I have to agree, which is why I chose to have my party there! If you feel like getting away from the throngs of NYC, I'd have to say this is the perfect place. Pros: Friendly staff, great ambiance more

This place has great martinis, they maybe pricey..but they are so worth it. Definitely well made. It's not the largest space, but it trendy and cool. Check it out. Pros: Yummy Martini Cons: Not that big, seating is limited more

This place is great.....fabulous atmosphere, great drinks and very friendly and attentive service. The crowd is made up of locals, and the drinks are average priced for a martini bar ($12). Won't be back! 8/3/2003

This is one of the worst places that I have ever been to. We went on a Saturday night and it was SOOO crowded you could barely walk. There was no place to sit, barely room to walk around, and my eardrums throbbed from the very LOUD music. My friends and I WILL NOT BE BACK! Pros: martinis Cons: crowded, small, too loud! more

The best Martini's in Town, particularly the Key Lime Martini. The atmosphere is just very chill, and the bartenders/waitresses are very helpful and nice. Its a really good place after work, and an excellent choice for a first date. Check out the garden in the back. Pros: Chill Atmosphere, Great Drinks, Good singles scene more

My friends and I are ALWAYS at Cibar. The staff is wonderful, the decor is swoonily gorgeous... very romantic, pleasant spot. My only complaint would be that it does get too crowded sometimes; getting pushed and jostled takes away from my enjoyment of everything else. But overall it's fantastic. more

cibar used to be one of my favorite bars in all of nyc and i have to say i was glad to hear that others were offended by the perpetual private party going on inside. after being turned away 4 times (and im embarassed that it took that much!) i have to say there are many other places in this big city that are going to get my business. sorry cibar, but the great (expensive) martinis cant make up for selling yourselves away. more

Martini Heaven! 12/13/2002

OK, So What- you can find an Apple Martini at any bar- the ones here are really d-lish! & that raspberry kamikaze is another Cibar favorites! Check out the place if you are in the Union Square area, the fire place, nice decor, and the comfy seats-if you can snag one all guarantees a nice night out. Service was attentive, just avoid grabbing a drink when it's a party night. Pros: Apple Martinis, Good sel. of Martinis Cons: avoid party night more

Amazing martinis. If you don't drink martinis now, you will after you have theirs. $10 bucks a drink, but totally worth it. Atmosphere very plush. Good date place. Pros: Amazing Martinis, Outdoor Seating, Plush Cons: Pricey Drinks, Somewhat Small, Limited Seating more
