Never appreciated Indian food until now! 6/18/2005

I've had Indian food in the past, but I never enjoyed it that much. Not until I visited Chutneys in Bellevue! I never liked lamb, but the owner/manager was so great in making recommendations that I tried their homemade cheese fried appetizer to lamb to the vindaloo dishes. I've been eating their every week now. I constantly have craving for their dishes! Their drinks are great, too! I personally like the gin and tonic. more

Terrible Service OK Food 6/11/2005

In our experience, the food was strictly OK. No one came to our table with water after the first 30 mins. No one came to take the order for another 30 mins. The food didnt come for 45 mins - 1 hour. And food wasnt anything special. When we expressed our concern - The owner and staff were very unhelpful. Instead of being apologetic, they were rude. There are much better Indian restaurants in the vicinity. This was inspite of the fact that it wasnt a busy evening for dinner on a weekday. Terrible Experience. Would never go there or recommend to any one. Pros: None really Cons: Poor Service, Not so great food, Unhelpful Staff more

Best curries in town 6/8/2005

Great food in this wonderful restaurant, where the curries are wonderful! Smooth and wonderful textures that amazed the 4 of that dined there last Saturday with the paneer tiki masala, bombay potatoe's and tandori lamb being the best of the amazing dishes we had. They interior is very modern and well done and the aromas as you enter stunningly wonderful. Bill the owner makes his presence felt and is very gracious to new guests and regulars, and his food is truly amazing!! Can not recommend this place enough!! Pros: Romantic, foodie paradise, ambiance more

Indian food and hospitality at it very worst - that is the most accurate way to describe Chutneys. Food was oily and tasteless, servers were extremely inattentive ad somewhat rude and the menu was overpriced for the value it delivered. To top it all, when we left a poor tip, we got the rudest treatment. NEVER EVER GO THERE AGAIN Cons: , bad service more

bad and oily food and poor service - rude staff. expesive also went there for a new year party - the music system went dead at 11:15 pm. and everyone left by 11:45. later on they were extremely rude and said outright no refunds and were extremely rude on the phone.
