Food was amazing!!@

Worst

The chicken pieces were too big, and not evenly cooked.

Not worth your money!! 2/4/2008

I didn't wanted to go to Chutney of Bellevue after my horrible experience at Chuttney of Seattle but for my friend, I had to go. They have a good bar and we ordered Tandoori platter, taste was amazing but it had only six piece of meat in it. I ordered chicken biryani, it hardly had any chicken in it and the worst part, rice was tossed in red tomato sauce. Now cmon, since when biryani is cooked in tomato sauce??? and it was a sweet tomato sauce. My advice, stick to appetizers and drinks, NEVER ever go for the main course. they are not cheap, it will hurt you bad. Pros: Good ambience Cons: food, expensive more

Worst Service, High Price, Average Food 10/24/2007

I got to say that this one of the priciest Indian restaurants I have been too and I have been to some pretty pricey ones in LA. For the price, the service and food are not worth it at all. I would rate the food average or slightly below average. My biggest complaint is it has THE worst service. I ordered spicy food and ended up drinking all my water and when I asked for more they did not bring it until about 10 mins later (and there were less than 10 customers at that point). I was almost dead at that point. NEVER GO HERE. more

Never again!!! 9/11/2007

I went there for dinner. The food was poor. The appetizer I had was Bombay Tikki, which was quite good, but everything else I ordered was quite poor, except for the naan which was fine. The service was abysmal; it was almost impossible to get the attention of the waiter, even though there were only two other tables occupied while I was eating. At one point had to ask for the same thing twice as the waiter forgot to bring what I asked for. At some point during my meal, a different waiter started serving me, for no apparent reason. One of the two waiters apparently preferred standing in a corner and chatting on a cell phone instead of looking out for the customers' needs. At the end of my meal, I asked for the check at the same time as my dessert. Neither of the waiters showed up to take my payment. After waiting for a while, I had to go to the front to pay up as I was fed up of waiting. I highly recommend that you go elsewhere. more

Best Indian food in the world 8/23/2007

Have eaten at top and high end Indian cuisines across the world-New Delhi, London, Paris, Chicago, Boston, NYC etc and let me tell you-this is the best food we've ever had. Service is top notch, ambiance is classy and high end. Try their Chiken Tikka Masala or Baigan Burtha or Bhindi Masala - all these are just over the top delicious. Owner and servers were very curteous, professional and made sure we were comfortable dining there. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Seattle, only 11 miles from the city. Will be surely eating there everytime I am in Seattle area. Pros: ambiance, food, service. Cons: little pricy compared to other regular Indian restaurants but well worth it. more

Best Indian in Bellevue 1/2/2007

As an avid Indian food enthusiast, I can say without reservation that Chutneys is the best Indian in Bellevue. Granted, I haven't eaten everywhere, but since moving here last year I've done my due diligence in finding the best Indian food around. Chutneys is it, hands down. more

Absolutely the worst service!! 12/21/2006

We waited about 15 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge us to seat us. It was only till there was a line of several people waiting did they seat us. There was no apology for the wait either. We then sat for another 15 minutes before we had to flag down the busboy to find a waiter to take our order. We then ordered our food and waited about 20 minutes while others who sat after us were served. We sat there for so long that at one point, another waiter asked if we were interested in dessert. We haven't even received our appetizer yet. Then we look over to another table of 4 people to find that they were being served by 2 waitstaff. I was amazed by the varying levels of service. I left there very frustrated and disappointed. more

The Best Restraunt with CLASS AND STYLE 10/26/2006

This place is the best place to go. The owner has opened restaurants all over the world and this time he has perfected the place, Open Kitchen - You can see how the food is made fresh, right in front of your eyes. Romantic Lighting sets the mood, Great Indian Culture shown with stautes of all the famous Indian Legends. The spice level on a 5 star basis and you chose what you want, and the food is made however you want it to be made. The staff is extremely humble. It is the best place to be if you live on the other side of the bridge and dont want to drive down to seattle where you can have more choices. I HAVE BEEN COMING HERE SINCE 2001 AND I HAVE ALWAYS WALKED OUT OF THIS PLACE MORE THEN SATISFIED Pros: If you want to have great food, with a partner, or just go for a night out to try different things. THIS IS THE PLACE Cons: None more

OK food, but I had similar experience to the last reviewer few months ago. I am not going there anymore. more

Worst Service ever 3/16/2006

Went there for the buffet last weekend. The food was ok: not nowhere close to some other indian places in the area.. However the service is really terrible. They do not have bread in the buffet area, and bring it directly to your table. We got one basket (~one piece per person) when we got there. After that, the servers basically disappeared. They were chatting in one corner and ignored us. Finally one of use walked up to them and asked for some nan and was asked ""how many""!! After that, we had to wait about 15-20 minutes before they came with the nan, by when of course we had mostly finished eating (rice). I am not going to this place again. Cons: TERRIBLE SERVICE more

Awesome Restaurant 8/14/2005

Well, Taste the food to believe it. I don't agree with offensive reviews by DDev or others. Prime location of Bellevue DownTown. Ample parking space and no chaos to driveto this place. Close to Microsoft, Major offices in Bellevue ,Seattle Downtown. I405, 520 is round the corner. The food is great, it is close to home(authentic) and I feel they have better choice in both vegeterian and non vegeterian cuisine than any other restaurant I have been to. Nice place for lovely dinner with your girlfriend/wife, or for big lunch/dinner parties and family gettogethers. The service is great. Good chefs who really take good care of ya. Service is awesome. They never make you wait. Buffets are filling and good value for money. Experience it yourself to come up with your own reviews. Overall, I would give it ***** ( On a 5 Star rating) and all the way thumbs up. Pros: Good parking, Value for money, Great Location more

BAD, BAD, BAD, BAD 8/9/2005

There's a reason why there are so many negative reviews of this restaurant....it sucks. Although the food is average, the service and staff are horrible! The staff are arrogant and ill mannered. There are several other indian restaurants with better food and far, far, far better service...don't waste your time and money at chutneys. more

User review by bcfoodie 8/7/2005

Waited an inordinate amount of time for service. Finally, when server arrived, asks simply what we want to order (no request for drinks, even though we were intending to order wine). Noticed the host going around all night visiting other tables and ignoring ours (assume it's because we're Indian and he feels he doesn't need to make the effort). When the food finally arrives, the saltiest chicken tikka masala I've ever tasted (had to return, redone was fine). Other dishes were fine but nothing special. On asking for the bill, waiter suggests we can take the remainder to go. We said fine, he grabbed a styrofoam container left it for us to pour the leftovers into. I would expect that kind of service in a neighborhood ethnic restaurant, not one the purports itself to be upscale dining with waiters running around in French service aprons. more

Below aveage food; terrible & rude service 6/26/2005

We waited for 10 minutes (on a not so busy night) before they seated us. The server came late - did us a favor by taking our order. We complained to manager - he appeared to listed and then we heard him smirk on his way back. Food came after about 35 minutes - lukewarm and tasteless - appeared to have been reheated in the microwave. We left a poor tip and got the third degree. WILL NEVER EVER GO THERE AGAIN Cons: poor service, horrible food more
