Purchased a Suntouch electric heating mat from this company on Ebay via its rep, Gary Reid, in December of 2006. The advertisement indicated shipping would be via UPS or US Postal. Before and after purchasing, I requesting shipping via US Postal to Canada.
After paying for the item and the quoted shipping costs, this company advises it has sent the package via UPS to Canada. That same day, I explain to Reid that this will result in a brokerage and duty charge of probably $75.00. Christian Brothers does nothing to get the package returned to it and instead ship via US Postal.
Sure enough, it arrived in Canada with a $74.56 charge payable to UPS to release the package to me. Christian Brothers has my money for the product already, so I am not going to refuse the package and be out both my money and the goods.
After I paid the COD charge, Christian Brother reneged on an agreement I made with Reid to pay $25 to compensate me for half of the UPS brokerage fee of $50.57 (the rest of the $74.56 was duty). Reid blames me for not insisting he use only US Postal and that he was not to ship via UPS.
Use this company if you want lousy customer service and to be blamed for the errors of its employees.
