Go see Ashley Kennedy 8/25/2010

I've Been getting my hair cut by Ashley since we were in High school together, and have followed her from shop to shop. I drive all the way into the city just to see her because she doesn't just cut my hair, but styles it. She always cuts it how I like it, and even makes great suggestions when I'm clueless. Ashley is very gentle and focused on what she's doing, I never have to worry about getting nicked or cut like I do at other places. With her your paying barber shop price with solon results more

Ashley Kennedy, Great Stylist 8/24/2010

I usually just go wherever to get my haircut, haircuttery's and the like. On a whim I dropped in to the local Chop Shop and I have to say, I am never going anywhere else. My stylist Ashley was wonderful, very sweet and my since my hair is really thick and curly I usually just buzz it off. She talked to me about doing something a little different and I have to say wow. That was one of the greatest haircuts I have gotten and she is now my go to stylist. I definitely recommend her and ask for her by name every time. more

Johnny Valentine is the best! 8/19/2010

Johnny has been cutting and coloring my hair for over a year and I am hooked! He works with the texture of my hair and the shape of my face to create the best cut! I am in love with the color of my hair too. He understands that I can't come to the salon every month and gives me a beautiful low maintenance color that looks totally natural! I can't say enough about Johnny and his work! Highly highly reccomended! more

A Cut Above the Rest! 8/18/2010

I recently met Johnny Valentine for the first time when he gave me a Brazilian Keratin Treatment. Not only was I extremely pleased with the results, but with the service he provided as a whole. From the moment I met him I felt totally comfortable with Johnny....he is conversational and just one of those people you like instantly. He answered all of my (many) questions in a very user friendly way...he explained everything he was doing along the way. My hair turned out just gorgeous and I already have plans to get my first Johnny haircut next week! He just began working at the Chop Shop in Manayunk and they are lucky to have him!! more

The best with Blondes! 8/16/2010

If you're looking for fantastic hair treatment with a very personable professional, I fully recommend Johnny Valentine. I have been a hair stylist hopper until I found him! My hair has never been softer or more vibrant. My color has held very well and was exactly the outcome I wanted- the blonde is not trashy, nor brassy! My hair is also rather thin and the ends split easily, however, since my cut, the ends have held strong and my hair is growing in beautifully. I promise you won't be disappointed! more

I have had Mr. Valentine do my hair on many occasions. Unlike some other stylists, he does what YOU want not what HE wants...LOL. He is a gentle natured kind soul which makes the whole experience relaxing. I would highly recommend Mr. Valentine for your hair care needs!! more

Johnny Valentine, hairstylist 8/11/2010

Johnny Valentine has been my stylist in Rittenhouse Square for over a year and I am so indebted to him for being so competent, professional and accommodating as my hairstylist. I am a former cosmetologist, and with my insane schedule, I don't have the time to deal with divas and wannabe stylists who don't have the knowledge, experience and creativity to work with my hair. From my first consultation with Johnny, he made me feel at ease and delivered exactly what I wanted. My hair has been blonde, brown and many shades and lengths in between- and I get nothing but compliments and stares. He's one of kind and truly gifted at what he does!!! He definitely gets my vote and recommendation for anyone that's looking for reliable, friendly, consistent, and beautiful results! more

Johnny-Rocks-It! 8/10/2010

I've had Johnny cut my hair many times until I relocated to California- but I still wait to have him cut my hair when I go back to visit because the cuts I've had in California have been terrible! John ha given me short and long cuts as well as a Brazilian hair treatment which gave me the soft, non-frizzy hair I've always wanted. He is professional in every way, funny, easy to talk to, great at helping you figure out what will look good and fit your lifestyle. Go to Johnny! more

JOHNNY VALENTINE MAKES MELOOKFINE!! 8/10/2010

When I sit in Johnny's chair, I'm never nervous about the outcome. I just tell him to do his thing and have yet to run home in tears. I've gotten countless highlights, trims, and keratin treatments from Johnny over the past 3 years and have ZERO complaints. Johnny is very attentive to detail when I tell him to let my bangs grow or just cut split ends, but he is also talented in creating his own style that enhances your features. I always leave Johnny feeling satisfied with my cut and color. I recently completed the Keratin Treatment with Johnny for the third time and just love it. The first time I was nervous that my thin hair would be destroyed but it actually makes my hair feel stronger and healthier - not to mention that Johnny's prices for this expensive treatment are the most affordable I've seen in the Philadelphia area. It's sad but I laugh when the rainy/sweltering weather makes people's hair frizzy and curly while I walk down the street without an umbrella and my hair looks perfect. Johnny has a great personality and is full of random knowledge that is more than enough keep you entertained through your appointment. I can assure you that his calendar for the upcoming months will be difficult to squeeze into as more and more people are getting word of the specialties that this hidden gem offers. I HIGHLY recommend scheduling an appointment with Johnny ASAP and earlier in the day as opposed to later because you'll want to show off your hairs - it's a sin to just waste the vision on your pillow!! more

Johnny Valentine=Great hair! 8/10/2010

I'm someone who is extremely picky when choosing a stylist for my long thick sometimes wavy/sometimes straight hair and longed to build a long lasting relationship with a stylist after having been dissapointed by so many. But my search came to an end when I met Johnny Valentine. He is a true master stylist, from our initial meeting, he took the time to understand my hair and my concerns, and explained in detail what he was going to do step by step- this guy knows hair! He is a true professional, who makes you feel so comfortable while in his chair, chatting like old friends. My hair looks fabulous every time and it grows out beautifully too- which is a testament to a great cut. Johnny is a true talent! more

Very happy with my haircuts 8/9/2010

I have thick and abundant curly hair, and it is hard to find somebody that understands how to cut it in a way that both keeps it under control and looks flattering. Johnny Valentine took the time to talk to me and understand what I wanted, and gave me a haircut that really fit my hair. I have been going to him for almost two years and I am very happy. more
