Because there seems to be a lack of good cab service in Providence, I was prepared to be let down. I'm happy to say that Checker Cab did not disappoint. With my 5am pickup, and a trip that was less than 5 miles, I thought for sure they'd be late, or not even show. The dispatcher was pleasant and professional. He took my reservation the night before. The driver showed up right at 5am, was super-friendly, and the cab was clean. After being stood up by many Big Daddy cabs, I'll be calling Checker Cab from now on. There seems to be a few different phone numbers out there... but the one I used was 401-944-2000.
