I love Thai food and the food at Chadaka's is tasty. However, beware... I got very ill after eating bad shrimp at the restaurant and will never return to eat there. I love thai fo...

Know before you go 10/11/2005

The food is excellent and the service is decent. The whole ambience is very upscale yet it's surrounded by such places as Starbuck's and Noah's Bagels. Be careful -- if you check the menu on their site before you show up, be aware the prices listed are NOT the prices things actually are. When I got there, the menu had much different prices, even though the choices were pretty much the same. Overall, the food was delicious -- I had the Roasted Duck Breast and the Spinach Wonton Soup. For lunch, though, $25 is a bit extreme for me. If money isn't an issue for you, I'd say go and try this place! Pros: ambience, food, service Cons: pricey more

Yum! 10/1/2005

We thought this was a world apart from the other Thai restaurants in the area.. well worth the slightly expensive parking price! We will be going back again and again. A+++ Pros: Ambience, Service, Food-Delish Cons: Parking Fee more

The perfect Saturday evening in Burbank. 8/15/2005

After reading the LA Times review I thought I'd wait and give it a try after all the buzz had subsided. Well the place isn't as busy as I anticipated, but it should be. My wife and I arrived at 8:30 on Saturday, it was crowded but not CROWDED. The food was wonderful and the waitress was perfect. The decor is unlike anything else in Burbank. Everything we had was superb, we'll see you there again soon if anyones reading this. Also, we saw Broken flowers, finally a movie that doesn't rely on special effects and pretty faces. Chadaka and a great movie....priceless. Pros: Curry Panang, Broken Flowers, A waitress named Ton more

You call this Thai food? What a joke! 8/12/2005

If you're looking for a nice place to chill and people watch, then this is a good choice. But if you're looking for real, actual GOOD Thai food, then this is NOT the place to go to. Other than their Curry Dumpling Tapa, everything was terrible. The Salmon was tasteless - the curry didn't even penetrate the surface of the fish, the beef musamun was horrible - (You want real musamun, try Indra's ) - the coconut soup was also bland and the grilled beef in the Beef Waterfall too tough. I must admit though that the food presentation and the atmosphere is really, really nice. But at $75 for three people, I think I'd rather stick to the restaurants in Hollywood. (Funny how bad reviews always seem to be removed. This is the third time I'm reposting my review!!!) Pros: Ambiance, Romantic, Service Cons: $$$$$$$$$$$$, Bland/Tasteless., Thai Food? LOL. more

Totally Impressed 8/3/2005

Unlike the previous reviewer, we had a wonderful experience. We've been to Thailand every year since 1982 and the food here at Chadaka is excellent. This is the fourth restaurant from one of the oldest Thai families in Hollywood. Chao Krung was the first of the four, it opened back in the 70's. The Head Chef at Chadaka is ""Auntie Tim"", noted by The Los Angeles Times as one of the best Thai chefs in the US (1999). Pros: Quality, Cuisine, Ambiance more

HAPPY HOUR 7/20/2005

FInally Burbank has a sophisticated, chic envronment to spend some time at after work. 1/2 price appetisers, beers, house wines and well cocktails with $5 specialty martini's and 1/2 price bootles of wine on Tuesdays. The staff is great, I've been going for months and the food, delicious. Pros: 1/2 price beer, 1/2 price appetisers, Great people more

ON THE MONEY! 7/8/2005

After reading the glowing review in the Los Angeles Times and visiting the Citysearch site I was sold. The pear salad was the best salad I've ever had...no kidding. The waitress was beautiful and attentive, my Sauvignon Blanc was perky yet unprecocious, and the lamb was outstanding. Parking can be a b@%ch, try the lot behind the restaurant on Palm. Pros: PEAR SALAD, NOBILO SAUVIGNON BLAN, LAMB more

Lovely evening 6/25/2005

My husband and I enjoyed it very much. Other than the parking problems on a Friday night, we found the food and service to be excellent. Martini's are a bit expensive for Burbank, but the restaurants decor sets it apart and makes the $9 bareable. The problem is you drink 6 between the two of you and your bill gets rather high. That's the price you pay for being a lush. more

Home away from home. 6/22/2005

It's getting harder and harder to make it home after work anymore. The people at Chadaka Thai are so warm and welcoming that it's become my second home. The food is terrific, the drinks are strong and the staff is kind and beautiful. A 10 hour work day couldn't have a better ending than an evening at Chadaka Thai. Pros: Friendly Staff, Strong Drinks, Terrific Food more

It's not all that 6/21/2005

Hmmmm, after reading the glowing reviews I'm left wondering if we were there on an off night or the owner's have a loyal following who posted. When I walked in to the restaurant there was a young man outside, walking in at the same time as I was - I figured he was a patron, but as he reluctantly greeted me I realised he worked there. Service was slow, unfriendly and twice we were brought drinks and appetizers that belonged to the table next to us. Mango mohito, while tasty, was weak. Crab noodle dish a bit too heavy on the fire. Duck portion was small, but my husband enjoyed it. Maybe we'll try again - Pros: atmosphere Cons: service, attitude more

It's mine and you can't have any. 6/20/2005

Anyone reading this review needs to take the title seriously. I have died and gone to heaven and I've made sure that St. Peter knows that none of you are on the guest list. Chadaka Thai is so sinfully good I want it all to myself. You can try and get in by name dropping but unless you know the man himself, it's not going to do you any good. You're all still welcome at all the other average Thai restaurants around town, but remember, Chadaka is mine...and you can't have any! Does St. Peter have a red cape & horns? Pros: HEAVENLY GOOD, SINFULLY DECADANT, NUMMY more

Happy days are here again! 6/14/2005

An absolute uncredible Thai Restaurant. I had the Spicy Catfish and my friend had the Halibut. The customer next to us made us try their Thai Beef Jerky, Yum! After a couple Singha's we unbuckled our jeans and talked about when we'd have time for the next visit to Chadaka. more

Burbank is worth the trip 6/14/2005

My advice : Friday night, arrive at Chadaka Thai before at around 8ish. Order the Nua Kem and the calamari appetizer. With this, enjoy a Franziskainer Beer or a Mango Mojito. For your entree, the shrimp panang and the grilled garlic chicken. At this time you can have another Franziskainer Beer or a Mango Mojito. Enjoy the creme brulee for dessert. Enjoy a couple more drinks at the bar. If it feels right, do a little dancin'...go home satisfied for an evening well spent. Pros: Calamari, Mango Mojito, Creme Brulee more

Outstanding!!! 6/13/2005

Stopped in for lunch and was pleasantly suprised by this newcomer to Burbank. 9 out of 10 would be my rating. Parking is sparse, try the lot behind the restaurant. more

Great Thai Restaurant In Burbank 6/13/2005

Finally we don't have to eat at PF Changs anymore. Chadaka is such a treat it needs to be experienced to get the full effect. From he alluring facade to the welcoming interior you're sure you've entered some place special. We started with appetizers, curry dumplings and fresh Thai rolls. Our entrees included panang curry with chicken, halibut & an ahi salad. Dessert was offered but we were far too full. A full bar is available if you're in need. Wine is fine for me. Good selection of California and Australian varietals. more

Food is always top notch 6/13/2005

There isn't a restaurant in Southern California that does it better. The food is always top notch, the service is the best in Los Angeles and the decor is beautiful. Sit at the bar and get to know these people. Always a great time. more

Nice contemporary Thai ambience 6/13/2005

The decor was appealing and the jazz fusion music was pleasant to the ear. It is an intimate and quaint Thai restaurant. Of course like most Thai restaurants in the US, the food doesn't really cater to the Thai palate but more for the American palate. The PAD THAI I had was slightly too salty(too much fish sauce), but the noodles were moist and not dry. If you like to chill and relax with a few friends, then I think you would like this place. more

Great Job! 6/12/2005

My girlfriend and I walked around the media center last night thinking what we wanted for dinner. We walked pass your restaurant for the first time (I am assuming your restaurant is fairly new, because we never seen it there before), and we knew we wanted to try the restaurant out. First, I was intrigue with design from the outside. As I walk in, everything was perfectly design. From the choice of lights, to the scale of the vase, to the simplicity of the walls. We were really impress. At this point, I was hoping that if the food is as good as the decoration, we'll be having a good night. Wow, the food was amazing. I had the Spicy Catfish fillet and my girlfriend had the spicy duck salad. The sauce was very tasteful and sophicated. Thanx for a great experience and I will definitely be there again. more

Best Bar In The City 6/9/2005

Did I say City? I meant Planet. The bar is a half circle made of under-lit frosted glass. A large crystal Buddha keeps his eye on you from above. With a large selection of specialty cocktails and beautiful women, it's good to have such a quality chaperone. A large selection of appetisers and a comprehensive menu add to this enjoyable experience. Pros: Bar, Drinks, Bartender more

The Best Thai Food I've Ever Had 6/4/2005

That's right, you read it correctly. THE BEST. I don't believe you'll find better thai food in LA, unless you're eating at one of the owners other thai restaurants. The owners are the same people that have Thai restaurants in Beverly Hills Adjacent, and in the Silverlake area. Thank God they've come to Burbank too. Prik King and Crying Tiger are my favorite entrees. more
