Chadaka blends a very laid-back, chill atmosphere with food so good you'll forget you're dining in the Valley. It's not fusion, but more of a modern take on traditional Thai--slightly upscale, but reasonably priced. Highlights include the Crying Tiger, thinkly sliced steak with a tangy citrus sauce, the Siam pork chop and the roast duck. Other standard Thai fare such as curries, coconut curry soups, vegetarian dishes and seafood are also quite good. Ask for the brown rice with your meal; as odd as it sounds it's exceptional.\r
Chadaka also features a full bar, lunch specials and happy hour drink and food specials. During the week, there's adequate parking in nearby garages or even on San Fernando Blvd., but on weekends parking can be a pain and there's no valet.
Pros: Food, small patio seating, bar, ambience, interior design, food, family-friendly, chill without leaving the Valley
Cons: Weekend parking
