People choose to dine at the Carnelian Room because the restaurant has a fabulous panoramic views from 52 stories up. This is definitely a nice place for special occassions such as corporate events or weddings. Unfortunately the quality of the food didn't seem to match the top-notch scenery. At dinner last night, it took some serious brute strength to saw through my steak, and the creme brulee was missing the crunchy layer of crystallized sugar! It actually tasted more like pudding than creme brulee.
Not worth $50pp in my opinion, but can't complain much since it wasn't on my dime.
