HELLO ALL I USED TO LIVE IN VA BEACH BACK IN 1987 AND WENT TO CAPT GEORGES ALMOST ALL THE TIME I REMEMBER THE WHOLE LOBSTER AND ALASKA KING CRAB LEGS AND RAW OYSTER BAR AND SALA...

Fantastic Seafood 7/23/2004

We live in Richmond, but every time we go to Virginia Beach we make a point to come here. We came here first years ago on the advice of a friend. I was skeptical because I had been to several buffets in VB and had not been happy with any of them. I was surprised, not only is this place great for a buffet, but its fantastic for a seafood restaurant. It was previous stated that you get King crab Legs, its actually Snow crab legs, but they are all you can eat and included in the price. Also, I agree I wouldnt come here for a special occasion such as my mothers birthday or an anniversary. Go some place like Half Shell. But every other time go to Captain Georges. Dont be discouraged by the long lines, they seat you fast! more

Best all you can eat Crab Legs... 7/17/2004

This is the Best Seafood Restaurant in VA-Bch, from VA-Bch resident!!! If you are looking for a HUGE family buffet with Alaskan King Crabs legs on the bar all year round, crawfish and scallops and several different types of shrimp, plus Ribs, Prime rib and salad bar with fruits and vegetables and great desserts. Plus they now have a sports bar, which you can order from there menu or use the buffet. If youre looking for more atmosphere and more elegant surroundings the Captain Georges in Pungo is the one for you; you can watch the sunset over the water while you eat. At $25 a person and kids 5 and under free with all you can eat Alaskan King Crabs legs on the bar and Great eats, you cant go wrong, when you have tried the rest in the area, youll never go back anywhere else except Captain Georges Pros: Now More Parking, Very Large Buffet, Sports Bar more

Ends Don't Justify the Means 5/28/2004

I asked many people, ""What's the best seafood in VB?"" They said, ""Capt. George's."" My mom, dad, and brother drove up from Orlando for Memorial Day weekend, and it just so happened that the 26th was my mother's b-day that night. I took them out here and when it was all said and done, we weren't very satisfied with the ""menu"" nor the ""service."" Our bill was well over $130, which was completely outrageous. Granted, it's much better than your avg. buffet (ex. Ryan's or Golden Corral), but it just wasn't worth it. I'd go again, certainly, but I wouldn't take someone there for a special dinner, like my mother's birthday (and first time in town). more

if you really want to fill up on seafood this is the place to go. Loads and loads. The quality was surprising good as well. more
