Best Calzone in Long Beach!

Worst

Usually I can Say nothing but Great Things about this Place...Pizza Always Great, but my last experience went horribly wrong Waited a hour and a half for pizza, once they dropped ...

Great 2/16/2011

its the cheese. lots of it. thats why everyone likes this pizza joint. the pie was saucy without being memorable, but it could've been buried under so much mozarella that it didn't stand a chance, cheese, crust, reasonable prices and generous toppings make this place. i had the medium meat lovers. better than any of the chain restaurants out there. it was completely satisfying. i could go for a slice now. more

Awesome 2/16/2011

So I'm new to Long Beach. And one of the things I hate most about moving to a new place is finding my new go to food joints. I drove past this place one day and thought, "Canadian Pizza?" But then I reasoned it must be amazing because it's combining my two favorite things: Canadians and Pizza. Then of course I turn to trusty ole' yelp for advice, and then order up! Let me just say, this is one of the best food decisions I've made since moving to the LBC... My pizza was piping hot, had an amazing crispy crust, and just overall satisfied my pizza craving. The thing I love most about this place is their two for one specialty pizzas. The reason being so is because I love how I can mix and match the pizzas because I'm usually torn between 2 different choices anyway. Thanks to this concept, problem solved. And so are my pizza woes from now on! more

Nice 2/16/2011

Ahhh, this is one of my favorite pizza spots! The flavor is intense.. their crust to die for.. and they serve hot and fresh. Every delivery I have received has arrived hot, and ready to devour.. I am a very huge fan!! If you order for the first time, be sure to get the fresh feta cheese on the side, then crumple over your pizza to indulge. You mouth will thank you tremendously. Oh yeah, new favorite pizza is the mexican pizza.. nice!! more

ZOMG Canadian Pizza...was delicious! I was floored that a pizza could taste this good, without so much grease! Their dough is just right. The crunch is unique and the pizza is also packed with cheese. I ordered the special 6.99 Large pizza (tuesday special) with 1 topping (i ordered half pepperoni and half pineapple) and it was heaven! Next time I will order their specialty pizzas to get the full experience. LBC is the place to be for cheap, great, crisp - without being burned - pizza! P.S. I love mom and pop places that have great names (like Canadian pizza) that seem to have nothing to do with the food joint. But I love it!! The owner started a new trend .... Canadian pizza rules! more

Great 2/16/2011

When I very first moved out to Long beach I would pass this place and think.... "What the hell is a Canadian pizza about? Canadian bacon maybe, shit I don't know"... Well I still can't make the connection. BUT I had the BEST freakin' pizza that I have had in a while. OK... So basics go for the 2 for 1. I got two small, premium, hot, delicious, un- dry un-condom tasting, packed with toppings, melty, gooey, crispy, chewy pizzas. So I call for delivery and the girl had no idea what I was trying to order. "Can I order the Venetian"? There is no such pizza mam. "I'm looking at the menu right now" No sorry, no such thing. *siiiiiiiiiigh* OK well can you just make it "Yes." Alright cool, you aren't knowledgeable about your own product, but you made it for me anyway. The crust was delicious. Like, it was bubbly and had that good crispy bottom where it gets fried in oil in the oven. *Mouth actually watering reliving it* I ordered "The Venetian that 'doesn't exist', but if you ask for it topping by individual topping they will make it". It had feta cheese, mozzarella, spinach, salami, peperoni, and green peppers... BOMB.COM And the Canadian, which consisted of pepperoni, Canadian bacon/ ham, green peppers, and olives. HOTDAMN.COM!!! My total came up to 19 bucks and some change. That included delivery fees. and I ate that pizza for 3 days. Pizza Hut can keep their dry ass 10 dollar pizzas, because we all know they are skimping on toppings now. :| Canadian Pizza is what's up man. more

Pizza is sooooo good!! Bomb crust + bomb sauce= greatness. Wings are pretty good too. Word of advice: It's a pick-up type of place, so bring someone with you so one person can park on the street and wait while the other person runs in. more

The best 2/16/2011

Location is borderline sketch, parking can be a hassle and the dining area basically non-existent but they make a damn good pizza. Another gem in Long Beach. It is best you call ahead and pickup or have them deliver as their dining area consists primarily of one table "inside" and a few seats outside. For some reason, their retro rubbermaid trash bin resonated a positive vibe within me. Very park like. The essence of the place was reminiscent of a pizza parlor that the kids from the film "Kids" would eat at..minus the a.i.d.s but pack your purel just in case. No restrooms here. As for the pizza itself, I couldn't find a single fault other than the fact I should have ordered 2 mediums rather than 2 smalls. We got the mexican and supreme specials. The crunchy chorizo (part of the mexican special) + corn meal crust (standard on all pies) complemented each other nicely. Extra hot 10-piece buffalo wings were good but not great. Wings were sitting in a cesspool of buffalo sauce and spice. A little excessive in my opinion. Throughout the duration of our meal, a handful of people were walking in and out, ordering whole pizzas or individual slices. A bustling joint, to me, is always a tell-tale sign of a quality place. more

Awesome 2/16/2011

had to try this place when I walked past..This place is right in between two bars and it says its Canadian! IDK what's so Canadian about it.. besides the Canadian bacon.. I thought there would be more Canadian dishes there. I had ordered a pizza - med meat lovers. Walked back to the bar.. had another drink.. and then we walked back to this pizza joint and grubbed. Fed 3 just right.. the cheese on this pizza.. was melt in your mouth falling off the crust yummy. Cant remember the last time I had pizza with dripping cheese.. sooooo good. and for that 5 stars The scenery of ppl walking by was interesting... I think take out is the best option on this one! more

Nice 2/16/2011

My bud J told me about this place as it's one of his favorites from back in the day. This is a small place with not much room for sitting down, kinda works as a delivery hub or pick up and take with you. They have various specials like on Monday you can get a large one topping for $6.99 or they have buy one specialty a regular price and get one free. Which is a great way to explore different options. Now to the nitty gritty ..., sometimes I judge a pizza on how it takes the next day and this one holds it own. They have a unique dough which is soft yet crispy. Appears to have slight crunch due to the "corn" powder underneath. The sauce is flavorful not sweet or bland. Cheese is cheesy but not stringy. I have been here several times and have not been disappointed. Keep up the good work Canadian Pizza. more

Amazing 2/16/2011

Not on purpose by any means, but I celebrated Canada day like the best of 'em with a few slices of Canada's finest. I threw in a little Mexican for good measure, so that none of our neighboring countries felt left out. The "Mexican" style from Canadian Pizza was just the right bit of caliente with a dash of cheese and the crust was out of this world. The crust was dusted with pure bliss...pure cornmeal bliss. It was damn good, eh ese! Hazel Q you got Long Beach down on lock, girl! more

Nice 2/16/2011

They have an awesome new online ordering system now! It can't get any easier than that. You don't even have to talk to a person on the phone to order pizza anymore! Well, kinda sad that we've come to that... but, hey - the convenience is nice :) more

Good 2/16/2011

Canadian Pizza is hands down the best pizza joint in Long Beach. I have to say, Canadian Pizza is as Eddie C. describes, "The pizza here is really good." Canadian Pizza makes flavorful pizza. The taste of their pizzas are certainly good and AMAZING! The crisp crust has a savory buttery flavor and keeps its crisp integrity, even after it goes cold and reheated. I took home a pizza and had plenty of leftover slices for two days and on the second day that I re-heated it, it tasted just like when it was freshly made. The price of their pizza pies are so inexpensive too. My hubby and I paid $15 for two medium pizzas. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and ham with pineapple pizza. We were amazed by how good these pizzas were. The cheese, tomato sauce and all the ingredients are fantastic. Only comment... I think they should change the name from Canadian Pizza to Long Beach Latin Pizza since the pizza is made by all Latino folks. Note: Canadian Pizza is in a dodgy location. The dining room is rather third world and shanty. I took my chances dining here, sat outside in the rickety patio furniture and dirty tables. I saw a lot of homeless and little homies wandering by. As much as the ambiance of the place sucks, the pizza here is incredible good. more

YUMMY 2/16/2011

YUMMY...a little more expensive than Domino's and Pizza Hut if you have coupons but way more tasty than both and even Papa John's...This is the best pizza I've had outside of a sit down gourmet restaurant...and I would have never tried it if one of my bestie's hadn't recommended it (thanks MAF)...My godson loves this place and could probably eat almost a whole pizza to himself now...he's only 8 and recently his appetite has skyrocketed to NFL player status...LOL more

Amazing 2/16/2011

The Mexican, Mediterranean, and Greek----my top 3 fave pizzas at this "hole in a wall" looking place. I love the cornmeal on the crust....the toppings are always generous and fresh. My favorite pizza place in the LB area. more

Great service 2/16/2011

Tuesday 6.99 for a large one topping. It is really a great deal, crust is tasty, and it's not dripping in oil. Some pizzas are so greasy that the pizza box is heavy from all the oil that seaped into the box. No excessive oil here. The crust is not oily nor brushed with any oil... I also got the breadsticks which are baked fresh from the same crust they use to make the pizza. Next time I'm going to get the cheesy breadsticks. It comes with a a side of marinara. Awesome place for takeout pizza. Best place for takeout pizza in Long Beach (out of Buono's, New York Upper Crust, Dominos, Pizza Hut, Papa Johns, Pizza Pi-close second place but much more expensive than this place) more

Great 2/16/2011

Whaaaaat?? This pizza is SO SO good! And 2 for 1! Why? I don't know! But I'll take it. If I ordered this somewhere fancier, I would still be impressed. Creative toppings. Delicious crust. Fast delivery. We also tried the Spaghetti and Meatball dinner for 2, and were thoroughly impressed. 2 huge baked pastas, 2 salads (I wish the salads were something other than iceberg), and delicious garlic bread. It lasted us 4 meals total. more

Awesome 2/16/2011

I don't know how they do it, they must have magic or something in the kitchen, but' it is the best pizza around. Hands down! It's difficult to have it and then go back to the Hut or Domino's. $6.99 special on Mon-Wed for large with 1 topping. Excellent. Props to magical elves in the kitchen. more

Nice 2/16/2011

Eat here. Try it for yourself. ..... It is really super good and yummy. There isn't anything bad about it. Please don't expect a nice resturaunt - it isn't. This place is super small with like 3 chairs outside to sit and eat. That is really the only bad thing about this place..... ......The reason it is so good is because the pizza here has the most yummiest crust and it tastes as good as it smells. They are inexpensive, fast, yummy, and closeby (if you live in LB).....really there aren't too many places in Long beach that serve a yummy pizza. The only other better place would be Pappalucci's on 2nd st. They are much more expensive, but are like NY - so to me it's worth it. I don't like to eat crappy food. So if you wanna try a new spot for pizza, go to Canadian. They are the shit- trust. You will be back for more. more

Great 2/16/2011

I don't like chains, so this place is def off the chain, especially when compared to those other establishments! Forget about Pizza Hut, Domino's, etc...sure, this place might be a few pennies more expensive, but it's worth it! Get the 2 for 1 specials. You must also get the cheese bread - it's like a small pizza all on its own! It's not really a place where you can sit, chill, and enjoy a beer; opt for delivery. more

Bob 2/16/2011

Canadian Pizza is on the regular call list. Very dependable. I use them sometimes when I'm on a 4th street crawl. Let's say you missed supper and you're in one of 4th street's finer establishments that doesn't have a kitchen, and taking a 'time out' is absolutely out of the question. Then just give 'em a call. 30 or 40 minutes later you'll be soppin' up that excess alchohol plus be the instant hit of the party. I usually get the 2 pizza specials - $21 (2) large $16 (2) medium. The cheese they use is really good and mixes well with the medium thickness crust. Pepperoni and Hawaiian are my favorites. I can't remember ever being disappointed. One thing though if you're going to pick up, parking can be difficult more
