I never realized how expensive those cakes on the cake tv shows are until I was shopping around for a cool birthday cake. I wanted a big show stopper cake but when I got quotes from various bakeries they were half my entire birthday party budget. I found Cakes Confidential on a wedding site. They made my birthday cake exactly like I wanted and I was still able to afford an open bar:) more

Yay! Fake Wedding Cakes! 1/11/2011

I was a super stressed bride planning my destination wedding in Mexico. I worried the hotel staff wouldn't be able to create the type of wedding cake I wanted. I emailed a picture of the wedding cake I wanted to Cakes Confidential. They said they could make it and ship it to Mexico for me. My fake wedding cake arrived in perfect condition and looked perfect for our beach wedding. I recommend Cakes Confidential for destination weddings any where. They're easy to work with and do a beautiful job. more

We used one of their cakes at our wedding. The display cake was flawless and the sheet cake tasted great. I really recommend it for NYC brides. more

Last Minute Wedding Cake 5/17/2010

Cakes Confidential saved the day for us. My buttercream wedding cake started to melt in the summer heat before any of the guests even arrived. Our wedding planner called Cakes Confidential and they were able to rush over a 'fake' wedding cake asap. Fake cakes don't melt:) so no one ever knew about our buttercream disaster. more

Best budget wedding cakes 5/17/2010

NYC's best kept secret for brides on a budget! They have amazing cakes, amazingly low prices, and friendly helpful people. We didn't want to drop 2K on a wedding cake. We rented a beautiful cake from Cakes Confidential, saved $1,500, and then spent the $1,500 on our super fabulous honeymoon in Vietnam:) Highly recommended! Pros: friendly, low pressure service, and great, affordable cakes Cons: no parking more

NYC 's only Elegant, Inexpensive Wedding Cakes 5/4/2010

We were going to skip having a wedding cake altogether until we found Cakes Confidential. In NYC all the other specialty bakers seem to start at $10 a slice which was way out of our price range. With Cakes Confidential we had a beautiful 4 tier cake for only a couple hundred dollars. Pros: beautiful, elegent, INEXPENSIVE wedding cakes Cons: Limited cake flavors more
