family friendly italian 1/12/2010

family and friends of ours have tried cafe jordano numerous times and we all agree it is da bomb! yes, you must come early to enjoy the delicious food or you will have to wait. don't worry, there is a bar if you need to pass the time and don't want to talk to your dining companions. Pros: great prices, good size portions Cons: wait can be looooong wait if you show up after doors open, more

Must Check This Resturant WOW!!!!!!! 1/7/2010

My family and i have been here numerous times, always have been impressed with the food, and the staff.Very friendly, fast service,If you come at 5:00 when they open for dinner you'll get right in otherwise expect a wait that is well worth it. Must try Kalamari app. and Buffalo Jordano Dinner, to die for. The wine is extremly affordable by the bottle 16.oo $ Good choice to choose from Italy to Astraila.Always highly recommend to our friends and neighbors. Bon-Appite Pros: Cream Sauces Cons: BUSY BUT WELL WORTH IT more

Good prices even better food 10/15/2009

Went with a friend during a busy lunch and found the food to be good and simple. Nice clean flavors. Only drawback is the lack of service. The waitress never came back to refill or ask about the meal. My friend mentioned they are like that all the time. Taste is more important to me than service so I'll knock off a star for that. Overall, it is a good place. Pros: Best family style Italian Cons: Servers are inattentive more

Fantastic Italian Food at Great Prices. 10/11/2009

I've been eating at this restaurant for years and have never been disappointed. I traveled through Italy for two weeks and never got a meal close to as good as I've gotten in this restaurant.\r Get there when they open to ensure you don't have to wait. They open at 5. \r Great food - Great prices. What else could anyone want in a restaurant.\r Also, it made it in 5280 Magazine for top 10 restaurants priced at under $50 for two. You can spend much less than that if you don't get drinks or dessert. Pros: Fantastic Italian food from a real italian. Cons: The secret is out. You'll probably wait for a table. more

AWFUL OWNER!! 9/11/2009

wouldnt suggest this lack luster restaurant.\r Owner was ridiculously rude. First timers opted to leave after spending only 15 minutes in her presence. \r Arrived with a party of 5, asked if we could pull up a chair after ordering a 6th persons dinner due to him being late because of traffic. SHE WOULD ABSOLUTLY NOT do this for us. Not in the rules she said. She was extremely rude. I wouldnt suggest this restaurant. Cons: ALL more

Awesome Food! 8/11/2009

I'm bot a big fan of Italian food and was a little iffy on trying Cafe Jordano out. But when I took my first bite I was SOLD! They were not stingy on the food at all. There was nothing bad about the food or the place! I will absolutely go back! Pros: Best Italian Food I've Ever Had! Cons: nothing more

Lakewood's not so best kept secret 5/24/2009

Honestly, I'm reluctant to give Cafe Jordano the exceptional review it deserves because my wife and I would like to keep it our little secret. Alas, the word is out and the restaurant has a cult following like none other. We've been dining here regularly for the last seven years, and the food is unmatched at this price point. Bobs Favorite is their most popular dish, but be warned, its highly addictive. Having waited tables and tended bar through college, I'm continually amazed by the efficiency and competency of the wait staff. Even at full tilt, the place operates like a well-oiled machine. Pros: Top Notch Cuisine, casual atmosphere, great prices Cons: Long waits during peak hours more

You've got to try it! 1/18/2009

Love this place. Everything positive people are saying is true. Yes there is a wait, BUT....they also offer takeout, so why not phone an order in and go pick it up? We do that most of the time because we have little ones and it's just easier to eat at home. But when it's the two of us, and we want good Italian food, we head straight to Cafe Jordano! Pros: Really Good Food! more

WOW! Amazing food and excellent service. 1/8/2009

My husband is a Chef and I've worked in restaurants for years and sometimes have a difficult time going out - I want awesome food with quality service and I don't want to break the bank either. Our first trip to Cafe Jordano was New Years Eve and I was floored. I love, absolutely love Italian food and oh my god it was DELICIOUS! We were told the wait was that of a typical Friday or Saturday night and that was fine by us. We waited maybe 45 minutes but for such exceptional food and wonderful service, it was well worth it. I can't think of any restaurant besides Cafe Jordano that I would actually sit and wait at for a meal but Wow! We'll keep going regularly and wait on Friday and Saturday night cause if you are going to wait for food, shouldn't it be the best Italian food in Denver?\r The price was lower than I was anticipating, the ambiance was relaxed - great for a family visit, date or out with the kids.\r We were very impressed and can't wait to go back! And bring everyone we know who appreciated great food! Stop reading and go already! Pros: Best Italian food in Denver, excellent service and value Cons: No reservations but worth the wait more

Outstanding neiborhood Italian 7/12/2008

I went to Jordanos for the first time and I think it is already my favorite Italian restrauant . I live in the area and drove by a million times thinking it was just a sandwich place and never stopped. We had great service and the meals were outstanding. Its gets very busy from opening on so get there a little early for Dinner. Pros: food, service and atmosphere Cons: Busy can be long waits. more

Well Worth the Wait; Best Italian in Town 7/3/2008

As an excellent home chef with Italian heritage, I can vouch for the delicious food at Cafe Jordano with lots of dining experiences. I've been eating there over 15 years. Yes, you have to wait if you don't arrive right at 5, or later in the evening. Yes, the staff can be a little rushed, but it is to be expected at a bustling family owned business. So, if you want to go somewhere quiet and candlelit, this isn't the place. On the other hand, if you want delicious well-executed, Italian dishes that always taste excellent, and a fun and packed social atmosphere come here and Manga! I literally crave this place. Recommended with authority! Pros: The excellent food; easy parking; a menu that keeps your favorite classics Cons: Busy; 30-60 minute wait if you don't time it right more

Fine Dining without the Fine 1/9/2008

This is my third time to the restaurant and it keeps getting worse. Each time the wait has taken longer and longer. \r \r Service - We arrived 10 minutes early with reservations and were still not seated until 20 minutes after the reservation (total wait 30 minutes WITH RESERVATIONS). Then it took another 20 minutes before the waiter even took our order. Service was lousy and the waiter had his head in the clouds. We had to ask several times for the ""complementary"" bread, drink refills, etc.\r \r Food - I ordered Fettuccine Alfredo. It was watery and the cream sauce lacked much flavor. The portion was slightly small. My father ordered their special, Shrimp Scampi. Not only did it not have any pasta on the dish, the portion was so tiny. He had to fill up on bread afterwards.\r \r Wine/Drinks - Their selection of wine was small and most of the wine listed had ""replacement"" wines instead. And if you order a soft drink, it is $1.50 and they bring you a can of soda (the same 12 oz can you can buy for $0.50).\r \r Prices ? Our meal included salad and bread in the price. My Fettuccine was $9.25.\r \r Overall ? I will never return to Cafe Jordano. Three strikes and you?re out. As much as I hate the chain restaurants, I would recommend Olive Garden or Macaroni Grill over this place. They are too tiny and too snooty. While acting like they are a four-star restaurant, they are far from it. They are ?Fine Dining? without the ?Fine?.\r \r If you are looking for a great family-owned Italian restaurant, try Mama Roma's instead. Pros: Parking was close Cons: The WAIT, the waitstaff, the food more

Italy meets the west.... 9/17/2007

Great authentic italian dishes in a family-owned Italian resteraunt. One of the things that makes this resteraunt unique, however, is a selection of Buffalo Italian dishes. Not what you would call their most authentic dishes, but they are to die for. more

Awesome food 11/2/2006

I love Jordano's! The best dishes are the ones with names like ""Bobs"" or ""Barbs"". The gnochi is fabulous, as is the tiramisu! The salad is really simple, but the soup is good with bread for dipping! The atmosphere can get kind of loud, but it makes me feel right at home and you know everyone is enjoying themselves. They can get very busy on Friday and Saturday nights, so be prepared to wait! Or make reservations for parties of 6 or more. Pros: Fabulous food Cons: Wait times more

Yummy cheap italian 7/11/2006

Went on 07/10/06 with my picky mother-in-law and hubby for dinner. They had been closed for a couple of weeks for vacation and this was their first night re-opening and it was busy. We got there around 8pm and waited for about 20 minutes to get a table. The service was great (but I admit it hasn't always been that way), my mother-in-law couldn't make up her mind so they took our soup/salad order while she decided. The food was really yummy, we had a shared appetizer, three entrees and a bottle of wine for $60 (not including tip) and we all loved our dishes. Can't wait to go back for more of Bob's Favorite! Pros: Food and the price Cons: The wait and sometimes the service, reservations only for parties of 6 and more more

Best former ""hole in the wall"" Italian 6/11/2006

I've been going to this place for years and have watched them go from a tiny hole in the wall to a larger and more classy place. The food has remained the same and is some of the best Italian i've ever had. Their Chicken Marsala is AMAZING! It's a little hard to find unless you're looking for it, it's nesteled in a King Soopers strip mall in the 'burbs. Pros: Food Cons: Busy more

Will never eat here again 1/23/2006

This was the worst Italian food I have ever had. The pasta was overcooked, the sauce was bland, the bread cold and the service slow. more

Amazing! 11/27/2005

The food is amazing here! Each time i eat here i get a different dish...and each dish is amazing, i've never been disappointed at my selection choice!! Thanks Jordano's!!!! more

The Best of Italy is in Lakewood! 9/19/2005

My family and I have been dining at Cafe Jordano for years now and have never been dissatisfied. Their Mussels appetizer is wonderful and I REALLY love the Shrimp Scampi! Order it over Pasta or you will get Spaghetti on the side. The wait can be long but, always worth it! Come early and get right in except on the weekends... Pros: Fabulous food, Friendly service, Inexpensive Cons: The waiting more

Great Italian Food Makes Up For Everything Else 7/24/2005

Cafe Jordano has been one of ouyr family staples since it opened. The food is great and inexpensive. Try the Mussel appetizer and Egplant Parmigiana or one of the Buffalo dishes for the entree. The wait is sometimes long and we have seen ""friends of the owner"" seated before people already waiting and the service is sometimes spotty, but the great food makes it worh going to. Pros: excellent food, good value Cons: wait, spotty service more
