family and friends of ours have tried cafe jordano numerous times and we all agree it is da bomb! yes, you must come early to enjoy the delicious food or you will have to wait. ...

Worst

I have heard a lot of good things about this place so since I work near the area, a few coworkers and I decided to check it out for lunch. From what I could see the lunch menu was...

Go here for awful service! 3/25/2005

The service here is AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL! We waited for over an hour for a table. When we asked the hostess about a table( after we saw her seat some friends that had just walked in and avoid the list ) she made an excuse and was rude! We wanted to leave but after waiting an hour you are sort of commited and hungry! This place is totally overrated. I will never give them my business again. There are much better Italian places in Denver. Cons: Customer Service more

RudeOwner/Hostess 12/20/2004

The owner/hostess was horrible. We arrived at 7:47 for a 7:45 reservation, and were very rudely approached by this person who claimed our table had been held for 30 min. Add to this that their sign on the outside of the location is mostly out, makes it rather difficult for first time customers to locate. In an almost threatening manner she told us unless we were seated in 5 min. our table would be given away. Our party was driving around the parking lot trying to find the place, but arrived in the very nick of time. She was also overheard by members of our party, telling people as she sat them that we were responsible for their long wait. Her behavior was unacceptable, as good as the food is, we will not go back. I guess ownership has it's priveledges. Pros: food Cons: , Owner-Hostess, difficult to locate more

Great food, great value 10/4/2004

Although we had to wait a while (about a half hour at 8:00 on a Thursday night) I was promised by a friend that it was worth the wait. It definitely was. It was a great Italian family atmosphere. My main dish was exquisite. Not monster gonna require a heart bypass later portions, but good dinner sized portions. Great service. I would recommend it again as it was one of the better if not best italian restaraunts I've been to in Denver. Only recommendation i have is get the soup and not the salad (the salads are swimming in dressing). Pros: Good food, Good Value, Good Service more

Budget friendly Italian 9/21/2004

I live nearby and when I'm in the mood for good Italian I come here. You do have to arrive close to opening or you will have to wait for a table. I love the Shrimp dishes and the garlic bread is great for dipping into the sauces. Not a big fan of their salads. Pros: Good Food, Great prices Cons: , Service more

Birthday dinner 9/16/2004

We went to Cafe Jordano for my husband's birthday. While the food was OK the service was terrible. We felt very rushed. Either only the regulars go here and you are expected to know what to order or they wanted to go home and we were some how holding them up (as were all the other patrons.) This is just down the street from us and I was rather disappointed (based on the other ratings) that this wasn't better. Pros: Close to home, very short wait more

One of my favorites 11/16/2003

One of my three favorites in Denver. Best Italian I've had yet, Better than Maggiano's and better than Buca di Beppo and less expensive. Sometimes you have to wait - they don't accept reservations. Not a big deal for me. Pros: food Cons: wait more

Mediocre at best 9/19/2003

I have heard a lot of good things about this place so since I work near the area, a few coworkers and I decided to check it out for lunch. From what I could see the lunch menu was pretty similar to the dinner menu...After we ate we all decided this was ""Italian"" food you would find in a cafeteria. Very bland and resembles something I could find in the frozen food section of my local grocer's. I got the spinach cannelloni and while it was edible, not anything great at all. A nice place for a cheap meal when you're feeling lazy but not something I intend to revisit...garlic bread was cold and hard and my salad leaves were struggling to breath in the amount of ranch poured on (not to mention pepper wasn't offered). Too bad... Pros: clean, easy to find, quick Cons: mediocre food, no flavor, cold garlic bread more

Good, not great 2/25/2003

This place is a bit of a drive for me and my friends, but we decided to try it based on the reviews. We all agree that the appetizer was fabulous. the shrimp were tender, the tomato cream sauce was so scrumptious we sopped it all up. but then.. the entrees let us down. My pizzaiola was tough and covered in gravy. I've got family in NY and went every summer, Little Italy has some of the best Italian in America, and pizzaiola steak is NOT supposed to have gravy on it. The pasta dishes were decent if a little bland, and the chicken entree was dry. For dessert, the waitress hyped the ""homemade Tirimisu."" It was ok, but it was on the dry side. I've had better. I suppose all the good reviews were from locals.. there are hardly any other restaurants in the area. Drive folks, Drive! Pros: cheery atmosphere, friendly waitress, wonderful appetizers! Cons: tiny wine/drinks list, very far drive, mediocre italian food more

Home-style Italian 12/23/2002

Cafe' Jordano services authentic Italian family cuisuine with excellent pasta dishes and deserts. Arrive early for lunch, around 11:15am if you want a seat, it fills up rapidly. Try Bob's Special one of the finest things on the menu, chicken breast fillet in a wine cream sauce with asparagus and melted cheese. Warning, Cafe' Jordano will not seat incomplete parties, this can be annoying. One of the best Italian restaurants in Denver! Pros: Great Food, Reasonably Priced, Excellent Service Cons: Noisy, Open, Very Busy more

Real Italian! 12/15/2002

This restaurant may be small but it is extremely busy, and for a good reason! The food is cooked fresh and authentic. Don't go unless you have resevations or don't mind waiting a while to be seated. If you have the time to wait however, the food and experience are worth it! Pros: authentic Cons: crowded more

Love it love it love it! 9/12/2002

I've been going to Cafe Jordano for years now, and I'm so happy they expanded! It used to be if you got there right at 5 when they opened, unless you were some of the first in line, it was a 30 minute wait right off the bat! I absolutely crave ""Bob's favorite"" . Mmmmmm, maybe I'll go tonight! Pros: mouth watering, wonderful sauces, delicious Cons: mediocre wine, service needs improve more

Hometown Girl 8/1/2002

Easily the best italian food in Denver with a neighborhood feel and prices so cheap I still can't believe them. Their specials (Bob's, Barb's and Mark's) are really great, and the owners are always around to chat. Pros: Inexpensive Cons: Waiting sometimes more

A Little Bit of Heaven 7/23/2002

The food is exquisite. The service is speedy. The waiting in line is irritating but worth it. Elisa, the owner, is an exhuberant hostess. It's the type of place you are happy to recommend to anyone and the type of place you are proud to bring your family and friends to. The old world hospitality and genuine good food is something I look forward to at least once a month! Pros: price, quality of food, Elisa Cons: crowded, warm to hot in temp, waiting in line more
