BUYERS BEWARE - Ikea quality furniture with almost a Pottery Barn price. \r \r My wife and I tried to save a few dollars and purchase a piece of furniture from a small shop instead of one of the ""big box"" stores. BIG MISTAKE. The product itself was most likely built and assembled overseas and then shipped to the USA. Once here, I can only suspect that it was sent to my home without C.G. Sparks ever opening the boxes to inspect the actual product. When we finally got our hands on the set, the screw holes barely aligned with the pre-drilled holes in the table legs. To make matters worse, I had to travel to my local HW store because one of the hex bolts was not even long enough to grip into the pre-drilled hole. Lastly, the benches wobbled and one was missing a critical piece of foam at the base of the leg which is supposed to stop the bench from scratching the floor. Instead of being shipped a pre-cut piece of foam I was sent several pieces of felt with a note that said ""I tried a few diff options - this was the best."" The best? How could a company that sells $1,700 pieces of furniture not perform the proper due diligence to cut the felt to the correct dimensions for use with the furniture? Once again, it's now up to me to fix the issues with this furniture set. I must measure and cut the felt pads that were mailed to me (UPS ground nonetheless) in order to prevent the furniture from ruining my wood floors. \r \r Although the product looked nice on their website I caution any buyers considering purchasing from this shop. After receiving my shipment it took C.G. Sparks over 10 days before I received my cheap pieces of felt. \r \r Lastly, there is a substantial amount of wood filler used throughout the product to cover the imperfections in the teak wood. If you want high-quality reclaimed wood furniture I suggest looking elsewhere. more

My new favorite store 1/1/2010

So extremely happy to find a store like this in Salt Lake. I bought two beautiful tables that have become conversation pieces and have completely transformed my living room. They are completely one of a kind tables and were very reasonably priced especially since they are antique pieces. The owner of the store is very friendly and warm, and I wanted to spend the entire afternoon in her store. I can't wait to return! Pros: Unique one of kind furniture more

Beautiful, Unique Furniture 10/8/2006

In the name of ""Full Disclosure"", I'm a friend of the owners, but this store has to be one of the best furniture stores in Salt Lake. They import antique colonial furniture from India. Spectacular one-of-a-kind pieces that are, without exaggeration, heirloom quality. If you're looking for something unusual, something that guests to your home will admire, check out CG Sparks. You won't be disappointed. more

Amazing Tibetan Antique Furniture 10/8/2006

I happened upon this gem just driving down 5th west one day to turn around. The outside could not prepare me for the amazing collection of furniture and antiques they have inside. Many beautiful large trunks and smaller accent pieces. After wandering around quite a bit I settled on a wonderful glass and accacia almirah with a few nice accent pieces to help set it off. This was some cabinet with what I can only describe as an old world ruggedness. I am refinishing some rooms in my house and will defintely be returning there for some more stuff. Pros: selection and quality more

One-a-kind, high quality furniture. 10/8/2006

I was so surprised and pleased when I walked into this seemingly deserted warehouse and found the most beautifully-crafted wood furniture pieces I could imagine. Since my initial visit I have returned numerous times. Each time I visit, the inventory and merchandise is different. There is always something new and unique. I have not only furnished my office but also my home with pieces from CG Sparks. I most recently acquired some beautiful glassware and wooden chairs that I just love.\r EchoRoad more
