I took my girlfriend out to the baymeadows chilis location a few nights ago. When we arrived we did not notice a host so we stayed in the front so we could be seated. A manager by the name of Randy directed us to our seat. We were enjoying a drink when we noticed multiple cockroaches underneath the table. i asked the waitress if we could be billed because we were not interested in staying. By the time our bill reached the table so did the food. Randy stopped by and asked what the issue was and we explained why we were leaving. I was not offered the food to be taken off of my bill so instead of wasting my energy I paid for the food we both had no interest in consuming....... more

It's new years eve, I walked up to the bar and asked for a beer. Instead, the grumpy bartender he is, yells at me then gives me someone elses shot and takes my money and over charges me. That starts off the night. It's a small bar, crowded, and disgustingly filthy throughout the bar from the entrance to the bathrooms. I promise I'm not a picky dude, but I'm struggling to have fun. The bartnender, who works there everytime I come up there, is rude. The entire bar is flithy. The band is too lout for a small corner bar. This place is not fun, I advice to avoid it. It's surrounded by enough bars to make this place avoidable. I wish I never spend my money here. more

I always go to Chili's after a long day. Their 2 for 1 Happy Hour drink specials (ALL DAY) are what call my name. If you're in the mood for a margarita, this place can make one of the BEST I've ever had. If you sit in the lounge area, you can enjoy quite a few TV's and a very lively atomosphere. I always enjoy going there for the Jaguar games, throwing back a few cold ones and cheering for my team. The serving staff is hit or miss, but if you get a good one, WOW. Just makes the experience that much better. I would recommend this Chili's to anyone who hasn't been there. It is definitely worth a shot!!! more

I was at their sister bar..Your Place Sat. night for a friends b-day. As we are always busy this was a treat for us. I paid first for a coke and 1 beer with my credit/debit card. She asked if I wanted to open a tab...I said no. Then later ordered wings and fries. They were horrible. Over cooked and dried out. I told them and they did nothing. I paid again with card & left. Note...at NO TIME did I have a tab. I paid each time I had ordererd. Tonight I looked at my bank account online...and discovered that the first charge for the drinks was totally wrong and the food charge was doubled. I called the bar to ask them why. I was not upset or rude...just wondering what happened. I spoke to a man who when I asked for the manager, laughed and said "well he guessed he was the acting manager". I was trying to explain WHY I was calling and what we got...he rudely interupted me and raised his voice to me...yes yelling...and told me it was their NORMAL...STANDARD procedure to DOUBLE charge every customer who uses their credit card to pay! That they hold it for 3 or more days to make sure they will get paid. That most bars and restaurant do that. I told him I have never had a bar or restaurant do that. He yelled at me saying yes they do...and all of their OUR PLACE/MY PLACE bars here and in St. Aug do. I tried to finish speaking and tell him had I known that.. I would have paid cash instead. Again interupting me...He started yelling and told me that its posted there in the bar. I asked where...because I never saw a sign saying that...and as it IS dark in there and nothing was on bar in front of me or pointed out to me.. I still felt bartender should have explain it at time of paying. He got really nasty then and I got upset at that point and said the whole thing sounded odd to me because the charges showing on my card STILL were not reflecting the right amount EVEN IF I had been double charged like he said their policy was, That I was going to call the owner and my bank about it. When he started yelling again I hung up. I went to tell my fiance what happened. While I was gone the "MAN"called my phone back and left a rather LONG Smart Aleck message on my voicemail. YES PEOPLE HE STAR 69 me!!!!! Imagine my surprise to get a call back from him when I never gave him my # and he even made a laughing comment about it on his message to me. He thought it was funny to do it! I then called their other bar "MY PLACE" and told the manager there what happened. He said the guy has already gotten in trouble before for rudeness to other customers. That this is the last straw. He also said the man should NEVER have called me back like that. I asked him to take my name and # and have the owner call me tomorrow if not sooner. He said he would. I do hope the owner calls me. Nowhere on my receipt does it authorize for them to charge double or hold more then I agreed to pay. The bar and grill was dark, and there was no posted sign on the bar where I was. I want to say...I was NOT rude to this guy. I did not raise my voice until near the end after all his rudeness to me. Then instead of losing it, I stated what I had to say and as he was yelling I hung up rather then get into a non-productive arguement. He claimed on the message that I was rude to him. I wasn't the one who kept interupting and yelling. He does NOT have good customer service skills and I hope the owner is as upset that a customer was treated this way as I was. I have been to their MY PLACE bar twice before as it is nearer to where we live. They are very nice and great with customers there from what I saw. I would go to MY PLACE again so long as that man from OUR PLACE does NOT work there. more

My Place is that hole in the wall bar that has tons of regulars. Most of the people that go there have lived in Jacksonville for a long time. Some of them are douchebags who think they are way cooler than they really are, others are more laid back and fun to drink with. The ladies are sociable but be aware of the beer googles. I love the bands, they are hit or miss but always entertaining. If you haven't been to My Place yet I suggest you check it out, just be sure to have an open mind and a few drinks in you before you go! Do not come here. The service is so bad i could not believe it. The bartenders act like they are college professors in ignorance. Another bad practice as you can read in other articles here- They charge a sur charge when starting a tab. EVEN IF YOU TELL THEM YOU ARE PAYING CASH. I was buying drinks for 3 friends and sitting at the bar- this old woman working there added a 25.00 pre auth for every drink we ordered "15 drinks-pre auth's in total" Add that up!!! It sent my account into a circle of nsf hell for months- and when i inquired at the bar as to why there was so many i was cursed at and laughed at. Besides the terrible service, weak drinks, over priced liquor, and terrible personell at the bar- the bathrooms looked like they were straight out of harlem. Pros: NOTHING Cons: EVERYTHING more

This place has a habit of pre auth 25.00 charges for every purchase you have. If they do not like you and say you pay for a group bill on your "tab" you could be looking at an additional 200-300 in preauth's "25.00" a peice. I came in on aug22/2009 for 2 jack and cokes and pay right away- no tab, so there should not be a pre auth fee- my tab was 10.51 and had 2 pre auths for 25.00 I could not understand this as it was a POINT OF SALE PURCHASE. I went in on a Fri nite, and had an ok time. i look at me account on monday and they have two holds both for 25.00 on my account. (totals $50.00, my bill by the way was $10.00 plus tip) i called them to see if they could remove at least one of the $25.00 charges and they refused (rudely) stating that it would release the money in five business days. The bartender also siad "yeah its just how our systems work, so your out the money till then" so for five business days i am without forty of my own dollars because they are holding it hostage. i was under the impression that the restaurant industry was aldo in the business of customer service, guess not at "my place bar and grill". good luck if you venture out there, but be prepared to be held hostage. We go to My Place about once every other weekend. It is usually a very good place to hang out, have a few drinks and listen to some music. The bands very from 70's and 80's rock to jazz to modern rock. The band usually starts around 10:30-11 on the nights we have been there. If you want a seat, I would suggest you get there by 9:30-10. The place does get crowded later on. If you are a smoker you are in luck, if not, it is very smokey. The patrons all seem to be very nice as we have never had any problems and we usually end up making some new friends for the night. Overall a good place to do some drinking. Pros: Cheap drinks, good music, good service Cons: Smokey if not a smoker, line for bathroom (single stall) more

This place has a great local atmosphere with a very friendly clientle and staff, especially during the day. Excellent reasonable priced bar food (great and generous burgers, crinkle cut fries and the usual offerings). Looking for linen? Go somewhere else. Not your typical sports bar theme, but the TVs are tuned to sports related activities. Good cold beer, 20 oz cups of domestic are $2.00 at this writing. Daily drink specials that change at some point, but as of today, 11/14/2006, Crown Royal, Stoli 80, and the like are $2.00 plus tax. I haven't found a better deal and believe me, I've looked! Good rock music played live at night. Pros: Smoking allowed, good food and drinks at great prices. Cons: No mirror in men's room, although one is just outside the door. more

Large beers, good wings and a true sports crowd make it enjoyable to go here alone or with a group. At other sports bars in town, I have felt pressure from staff to try to turn over tables even during major events like the Super Bowl. When I go to a sports bar to watch a game, I want to see the whole game and you can do that here. Pros: full service bar, ample parking more
