Brio tries hard for atmosphere, but it's a sterile, chain-restaurant approximation of classic Italian architecture. At a recent visit, I peeked under the tablecloth and my table a...

Eh, just ok 3/13/2011

went here for brunch and ordered eggs Benedict, friends ordered pasta. The Benedict was bare bones, skimping on sauce, eggs a little overdone, and small portion of potatoes. The pasta dishes seemed normal sized. They do have a great outdoor space with umbrellas. Would come here for mimosas and light fare, but wouldn't come here if you're hungry and expecting to be full. Hostess was slow. Waiter was more efficient. more

Great food (for a chain), and unusually good service 4/19/2010

Brio isn't winning any James Beard awards. But I have to give the place props at times. Their food is always pretty damn good. It's reliable. And while yes, it's a chain, it doesn't really feel like one. It feels like it's a Buckhead original. Go there for brunch on Sunday and see the high-brow Buckhead set, plus the younger crowd dressed in designer jeans and Hollywood sunglasses. more

Great place to eat and meet people 11/13/2009

I am always given a big welcome by the staff when i arrive they are so polite and take an interest in what I've been doing and where i've been going. I must say Im very much a regular there (5yrs) ever since I got off the plane from London. The food has always been first class and there lunch time $2.95 specials are unbeatable. The wine list is vast and the desserts are dangerous. A lovely place to take people to lunch or dinner. Pros: Polite Staff with attention to detail more

Best Italian Food 11/8/2009

The food seemed unique and food was great Pros: Good service and presenation Cons: Price more

Very Disappointing 8/19/2009

This was a big dissappointment from the start to the finish...unhappy waiters, unfriendly receptionist who stood talking to the waitresses for several minutes while we waiting for a greeting. Once we finally got to a table, the restaurant staff was not unpleasant, but very inefficient. The food was bad. And it was expensive for the offerings. We will not go back. Cons: unfriendly, poor service, bad food more

Food is outstanding--service even better! 3/10/2009

Was very welcomed from the start, everyone smiled and cared about my experience. The manager came over and even bought me dessert because it was my first time there! I loved it and will go back more

I LOVED IT!! 10/4/2008

I personal like it there. I love the food. I don't have any problems with the service whenever I go there. more

If you want to be rushed to eat, this is the place for you! 5/31/2008

My boyfriend and I went to Brio for the second time last night. The service was not comparable to the service that we received the first time we went. Our waiter was very sweaty and he seemed very rushed even though there weren't many people in the restaurant. We were rushed to select what we wanted from the menu, and then when i wanted to change my order, the waiter told me that they had already began to cook my meal and i should just stick with what i ordered. I had to explain to him that i didn't want what i had originally ordered (since we were rushed) and i still wanted to change it. We received our food about 5 minutes later. Everything just felt very rushed. We literally took 20 min to eat. It had to be the fastest dinner i ever ate. He even rushed us when he was asking if we wanted dessert! The only reason i gave this restaurant 3 stars is because the first time we went our service was absolutely perfect. Pros: prompt seating, valet Cons: very rushed, not where you want to go for a relaxing dinner more

Delectable Tuscan Cuisine, Great Atmosphere, good service 11/27/2007

I've gone to Brio several times. The food is extremely good; the sauces are not too heavy and really flavorful. I love the ravioli, bruscetta and seafood dishes. The ambiance is warm and visually pleasing; the staff is prompt and personable. Even though Brio is a chain, the food has the taste of an independent, authentic tuscan restaurant, so you don't feel like you are eating at a chain. The deserts are also great, if you have the room to eat them ( they serve generous portions of their appetizers and entrees.) Overall Brio is one of my favorite restaurants and I will continue to eat there for years to come. GREAT FOR A DATE! Pros: Value more

Great Food and Service 9/3/2007

I have dined at the Ptree location a few times. Each time the food and service was great, especially the seafood dishes. I have also dined at the Ashford Dunwoody location. I wasn't impressed with the food, but the atmosphere was great. Pros: Great Seafood Dishes more

Great Service, average food! 2/18/2007

We went here for Valentines Day! The high ceilings give it a very spacious feel, which made it feel not so romantic. I don't have kids, but the kids around us were given balloons by the staff, which I thought was really cute. The food was a little salty for my taste, and my boyfriend and I ended up swapping the dishes we ordered. The Seafood Bruschetta was incredible--a really new take on your traditional bruschetta made with lobster and shrimp. Service was prompt even though the restaurant was crowded for Valentine's Day. Pros: service, valet parking, prompt seating Cons: salty food more

Overpriced. 8/7/2006

Romantic!? do you want to dine with the peachtree ""Highway"" in front of you?. I went a few times there but the food have never been awesome especially the last time. I had this Tournedo : Just ridiculous, the meat was dry, cooked without ANYTHING (no seasoning at all) with some kind of artificial smashed potatoes straight from the frozen section of Kroger. That is definitively not Italian food. Completely over priced (I guess for the beautifull view). Lemonade oversweeted wich is actually not made from lemons but from concentrate (from Kroger too). Pizza are greasy...I am just wondering if the tenants have ever been in Italia. more

Great Lunch, Brunch, and Patio 6/26/2006

Just had another wonderful lunch with a good friend at Brio. We arrived early, still cool outside, on the wonderful beautiful patio, facing world famous P'tree. Pros: Very Good Italian-American cuisine Cons: Parking can be slow! more

The frozen bellinis are delicious! 6/7/2006

I have dreams at night about this place's pork tenderloin and wedge salads. The frozen bellinis are excellent, the waiters are always quick and curteous, the wait is usually fairly short. Pros: Good Food, Great Staff, Drinks Cons: Sometimes a long wait, but for a good reason! more

Great choice for Italian. 3/18/2006

If you're in the mood for Italian, I would definitely recommend Brio. The quality of the food is very good for a chain restaurant (I love the pasta with diavalo sauce). The dessets are well-presented and something you would normally see in a high-class restaurant. The prices are only a few dollars more than Olive Garden, but the value is much better. Pros: unique menu, food quality, desserts Cons: need to ask for bread more

Great atmposhere; not so great food 11/20/2005

My Dad and I orderd the lamb. It was definately not the best I had ever had, but it was okay. I never had my drink glass refilled, and neither did my Dad. Towards the end of dinner, I was melting ice cubes in my mouth! The atmosphere was awesome. However, if you are looking for something quiet and romantic, this may not be your place. It was noisy, but we didn't mind. We also had the dessert trio. My favorite was the cheesecake, and then the crème brulee. The chocolate cake is dry and very dense. I am glad we tried it, but I will not go again. Pros: atmosphere, free parking Cons: food, service, portion sizes more

it's ok 9/12/2005

The food is bland and nothing special but the have quick service for lunch. Def. not impressive Italian. The lunch menu is priced OK but it is SO LOUD in there it can be hard to hear the person across the table. Pros: price, service Cons: noise, average food more

You must try the Cheescake! 6/9/2005

Ok, to be completely honest, the food is average. The lasagna is probably one of the best entrees on the menu. But you will be very surprised at how affordable this restaurant is! But what's absolutely to die for, the Cheesecake!!! Any time I'm visiting Atlanta, I always stop by and just order the cheesecake. It's is so creamy, made fresh in the restaurant. They place the cheesecake on it's side and place on the plate and somehow form a very very thin top layer of caramelized sugar on top of the cake and top it with a strawberry. Then they have this absolutely delicious raspberry sauce drizzled on the cake and plate to make it taste even better. I'm telling you, there is no cheesecake better than Brio's, I guarantee it!!! As a matter of fact, I'm leaving now to go get a piece. Pros: romantic, affordable, good for large groups Cons: the wait when busy, noisy more

really great comfort food 3/2/2005

I just don't know how anyone could not like this place. Yes, it's very cheesy but I think the food is always good. I don't think I've ever taken someone here who didn't love it. And it's a great place for kids because it's so loud. Everyone should see martini night at least once in their lives. Pros: food, location, wine list Cons: cheesy, loud more
