Brava Theater 4/29/2006

The Mission used to be SF's thriving theater district. Then something happened (an ice age?) and most of the theaters got shuttered and/or knocked down. The spot of the Mission Safeway used to be a gorgeous theater. One of many… Brava is one of the classics that was closed up for a spell, but now it's remodeled, and presenting all sorts of art by woman (hence, why the official name is Brava For Woman in the Arts). Regardless of their insistence on discriminating against men, they're putting on good, local, political presentations here. It's a beautiful place to see a show. more
