Worst No Experience Ever 9/8/2011

Had tickets to see Elton John last night (9/8/11). This would have been my first time at Blossom, as I have only lived here for 3 years. We live 25 minutes from the exits to Blossom Music Center, so we left 2.5 hours before concert. We couldn't even make it to the concert. The traffic didn't even move. We were still 4.4 miles away at 8pm, the time the concert started and had only moved 1.2 miles in an hour and 10 minutes. We totally missed the show. I will NEVER buy tickets again for any Blossom event. I may as well taken the money we paid for the tickets and flushed them down the toilet. Luckily I have seen Elton John before, but he is my favorite, so I was really looking forward to this show. I just cannot believe we saw nothing. more

Terrible Traffic! 7/11/2011

I'm from far outside of town (4 hours one way) and wanted desperately to see Sara Evans and Rascal Flatts. Bought tickets even though the drive was terrible because people said how beautiful the Blossom Center is. We went to dinner at Red Lobster at the next exit up and at 5:30 we headed up to the next exit to head to the concert (started at 7:30). We sat on the exit ramp until 7:45 and didn't make it to the parking spot until 8:40. I got to see the last two Sara Evans songs. The amount of drunken kids was absolutely insane. They did not card nor provide wrist bands to make sure you were of age. We did happen to find a spot on the lawn away from the entrance that was almost quiet enough to hear the music. We couldn't see anything and with the amount of noise the other fans were making gossipping and drinking it was hard to hear the actual music. I'm all for fans cheering and singing along, but none of these kids even did that. Trying to get out of the lot was even worse. They didn't do a great job making sure all beer from inside the show was disposed of. I saw just as many people in their cars drinking as I did inside the concert. I saw three accidents where the employees who were supposed to be directing traffic were too busy flirting with other employees or the people in the cars. The lines out had 2 lanes going to one road and one lane going to another. They would go down at some points to one lane because people weren't sure where to go. I stayed in the farthest left lane assuming it would take me out onto Steels Corners like the sign said, but of course there was someone directing traffic FINALLY onto another back road. Not knowing the area or having a GPS system and getting shuffled into a windy curvy road in the dark was quite frustrating. For a show that only lasted a little over an hour by the time I got in and waiting in traffic for a total of 5.5 hours, I wouldn't ever go back. I used more gas idling and stuck in traffic than I did on the drive up to the concert and home. more

nice place to see a show 4/19/2011

this place is kinda in the woods so thats nice, outside the venue theres a great seen before and after the show. inside the place is nice the lawn isnt to bad to stand/dance on all night, the sound is great in the pavillion but just ok on the lawn. theres not that many hotels near by so get your reservations ahead of time. all in all a fun place to see a show, if they fixed the sound on the lawn it would be one of my favorites, but bad sound is a major downfall. more

Beautiful setting for concert 1/21/2011

My husband and go to Blossom every summer 3-6 times for concerts. We have seen everything from mellow James Taylor and Stevie Nicks to Bon Jovi to Kiss to Def Leppard Rod Stewart and everything in between. I don't understand the negative reviews here. In the dozens of times we have been there we have had maybe 2 problems with traffic jams. There a couple speed traps in nearby small towns, so be careful of that. The grounds are stunning and we feel totally at ease, safe and comfortable there. So much better than going to The Q or a city atmosphere. Yes, the cost of food and drink are expensive, but they are at all concert venues, that's to be expected. Blossom is well known for being the best outdoor amphitheater in the Midwest. If I lived a little closer, I would be there every week. more

Joffrey Ballet/Cleveland Orchestra - Fabulous! 9/5/2010

To think that we considered staying home because of the god-awful reviews we read here! Based on the traffic problems we read about, we sought alternate routes that completely avoided Route 8. From Chagrin Falls we took 91 south through Hudson, nearly to KSU. We traveled west on Graham and approached Blossom from the south. Piece of cake! it was 45 minutes from Chagrin Falls to the gate and then a few more minutes for parking. The parking was free, orderly, and in lots that were paved and reasonably well marked. From lot D, it was an easy 10 minute walk to the pavilion. There are trams available from the lots to the Music Center, for those who need assistance. Going home was just as easy. The crowd was a mixture of mature adults and families with children. The lawn was full of kids, running and playing. I didn't want the potential distraction of kids during the performance, so chose to sit in the pavilion. But I wish I had brought my children to this venue when they were younger - what a great, stress-free way to expose kids to music and dance. Overall, a wonderful, relaxed venue. more

TRAFFIC 8/5/2010

August 5th 2010 Tim McGraw and Lady A concert was outstanding at least what we saw. Drove from Boardman Ohio and took the turnpike all the way up to State route 8. This only took 55 minutes. Its 600pm and plenty of time to get to the 700 start of the show. We got to hear 2 songs of Lady A which is the main reason why I took my 6 year old grandaughter to the concert. Something has to be done with the traffic getting off the turnpike, construction wasn't the problem. The problem was tied up in traffic from 6 until 800 for about 10 miles only. I only saw 2 places with police officers directing traffic. Over 2 hours to go 10 miles or even less thats crazy. We left early missing some of the show because we didn't want to get caught in the mess leaving. Blossom is an outstanding venue one of the best I've been to, but PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT ACCOMENDATING THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC. more

BMC best venue in region/country! 7/27/2010

the pot and rude people can't be held against the venue HELLO! The chairs/caps all those restrictions ARE posted on the BMC website prior to the show, those resrtictions are on place nearly 90% of the time. BMC is a fantastic venue one of the best in the country. Nearly every act that goes on that stage comments how impressed they are with BMC.. top notch all the way. I have encountered pot/drunks/rude people at every venue I"ve been to in CLE area, you want church people then go to church dude-your way off on this sorry but you ARE! Pros: BMC best venue in region/country! Cons: none more

Restrictions, restrictions, restrictions 7/21/2010

Last night was my first night at Blossom. We get there and we had to park in Lot 3 which is literally about a mile away from the stage. So I had the chairs with me we got to the line where they check your bags and they said that I couldn't have the "camping" style chairs there because they were too big. So we walked ALL the way back to the car dropped off the chairs, walked ALL the way back. Once we got in, we got our water that cost 5 dollars each and they took the caps to the water. We asked to have them, since we had lawn seats because people can knock over your drink. They said they don't allow caps on the drinks because of the lawn mowers. But once you sat down, there were a bunch of people with caps on their drinks. Whatever. If you're going to restrict it for one person, restrict it for all. We are grown ups, don't treat us like we are children and can't handle caps on our bottles. They need a website to list their rules and regulations for those who have not been at that venue before. Jack Johnson was great, but the venue was terrible. And people that sit around you are very rude. They will lay their blankets on yours and take up your seating and they have no problem putting their feet on your blanket ... thats kind of gross. If you do go, I suggest pavilion seating, 20 bucks more expensive, but its worth it. Oh and one last thing you can smell individuals smoking pot ... while there are kids sitting around them. So if you are against drugs, I wouldn't suggest you go then or even at all. Terrible, terrible venue!! Pros: Nothing Cons: Everything more

Worst Experience 7/9/2010

I am a huge Brett Michaels fan and I love and buy anything that has to do with Brett Michaels. I recently saved up enough money to attend Brett's concert at Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio on July 8, 2010. I was really excited to see Brett live for the first time, but my experience was the worst. Although Brett's performance was great, I was treated with no respect and was told to leave the facility. I purchased tickets for section 14, Row K, Seat 17. I am 5'3 and I knew it would be up close and easy to see. But I was wrong, I was at the other end of the row and I couldn't see anything. So I had asked the Facility Supervisor if there was anyway I could get better seats in the back of section 14 just so I could see. (The show was not sold out and plenty of seats were still open) The supervisor was very nice and moved me back to the handicap seating because no one had purchased those seats. When Brett come on stage, a security card had come to me and told me to leave because I was not allowed to sit there because it was handicapped seating. I tried to explain to this elderly man that I had been given permission to sit there by the supervisor of the facility. The security guard preceeded to yell at me in my face and told me to find another seat. Brett had made an announcement for everyone in the lawn seating to move into the pavilion and fill up the empty seats. I turned around and stood in another empty seat when I was told again that I could not sit there because those seats had been purchased. The elderly security guard grabbed me by my arm and dragged me out of the seat.... When I tried to tell the security guard that I would go back to my original seat he told me no and proceeded to lead me to the back of the pavilion. I showed him my ticket and he said you lost your seats and it would be in my best interest if I would just leave the concert.... I paid $160.00 for two seats and didn't even get to see Brett Michaels perform... I will never go back to Blossom Music Center for anything!!!! Cons: Rude Security Guards more

Outside in the Valley 6/4/2009

All you people need to pull the stick out your a## and enjoy a frickin concert. Blossom is a great place to see a concert outside in NE Ohio. Here is a little secret ......plan on not paying for $8 beers or cocktails and still get drunk. This works trust me....there called little airplane bottles :) Pros: The atmosphere Cons: Beer Prices more

Nothing bad about this 4/14/2009

My husband and I go to at least 3 to 4 concerts every year at Blossom. I love it there. The only thing that is bad about it is the fact that you pay too much for something to drink. Other then that I think it is worth paying the money for lawn tickets which is really not that much. You can see no matter where you sit. If you go to an indoor concert the people look like ants and you cant see nothing. I would rather sit out in a lawn and be able to have room to move then being cramped in a building with a bunch of crazy people. more

Absolutely terrible 8/20/2008

For anyone who is reading these reviews, NEVER GO TO BLOSSOM MUSIC CENTER FOR ANY REASON. It was my worst experience ever with a concert venue. I was in the center up against the rail during the concert I attended. Somehow, every single person crowd surfing FELL on my head. I wonder why. Maybe it's the TERRIBLE SECURITY GUARDS. I have attended concerts where I was in almost the same position, and the security guards scooped up the people and did not let anyone kick my face or completely fall on me. As I tried to put my arms above my head to protect myself and haul the people off me, a security guard (who wasn't doing anything but standing there) proceeded to tell me if I strike another "security guard" that I will go to jail. That's funny, because I don't recall striking any one of the fatass half-retarded security guards who are lazy and don't do their jobs. I do recall trying to protect myself from getting hurt. And of course, you're way overpriced for EVERYTHING. I'm sure that won't change, it will only get worse because hopefully people will stop coming to your venue. I left way early from the concert I attended at Blossom Music Center because everything was so terrible. And forget parking and trying to get out of there, anywhere you park you'll end up walking four miles. Once again, thank you for a HORRIBLE time. Sincerely and Truthfully, Jessica Anne Stofko Pros: None. Cons: Everything. more

wow what a waste 8/19/2008

Ok so me and my girlfriend go to see a concert and first of all tickets where way to over priced, second of all the parking flaggers where lazy, rude and basicly worthless. so then after we walked a mile to get to the gate the security check sucked, not because it took so long they didnt even check 9/10 of the people. now we finaly get to the second stage and got our way to the front of the crowd and we were fine untill the crowd surfers started, dont get me wrong i have no problem with them there just having a good time. its the bouncer/ security gaurds that sucked . they all where fat as a house and couldnt even hold there own weight. noot to mention that they dropped about every 8 out of 10 people. then they cursed at us because we were protecting out selfs because they where doing the job , not only that they threatend to take me and my girlfried to jail for pushing the crowd surfers off of us. they were basicly the rudest dumbest lazyest stupid security gaurds i have ever seen , and ive been to well over 100 concerts. so after finaly have a little fun for maybe 20 minuets me and my girlfriend headed to the hill and after 5 minuets we dicieded that we couldnt take any more and left because you couldnt see or hear anything . so after about 100 dollars and being there for an hour tops ive decided i will never return to that place. so people thinking of going to a show there see if the show is comming to any other near by venues because you will be very disapointed and feel how i feel Pros: the band was great Cons: parking security kindness of employies sight and sound more

Avoid at all cost 7/31/2008

While there may be a couple good shows that come to Blossom the drive and traffic keeps me from ever going there again. One lane roads, nonstop traffic issues, horrible parking, mud lots, overpriced drinks, and terrible security have made this a place to stay away from. If a show starts at 8pm you better be on the road close to 6pm and close to the venue because it will take you an hour to park and walk the 3 miles to the venue itself depending on where you park. The sound there is ok, it's not great by any means, and it is a cool looking place but by the time you get to the gate your will want to hurt someone or yourself. I have been going to shows there since the late 80's and it has only gotten worse. No changes have been made to the roads, no two lanes, just a lot of stop and go traffic for miles backing up even to the Turnpike. If you want to actually see the opening band, go early because there is no doubt you will be stuck in traffic. Pros: Cleveland orchestra Cons: prices, venue, travel, roads, seating, security, parking, traffic more

First time visitor at Blossom Music Center 7/28/2008

I will never waste my money on a show at Blossom ever again. I had to park clear in the back of a grass parking area. I arrived at 9pm to avoid traffic problems and came in on the back roads. I did get into the parking area right away, but after this was accomplished, it was all downhill from there. After walking a mile to the gate, I entered to discover that I couldn't hear the music from the lawn area. In additon, my wheelchair companion (my aunt) couldn't see anything, We were told that there was a spot for wheelchairs clear in the back, where the stage looked so small it may as well been invisible. So of course she still couldn't see anything. Granted there was close parking for handicapped. I met my Aunt there, so she was in close parking. So it was pretty much a huge disappointment considering that this was the first concert my disabled Aunt and I had ever attended in our lives. No one was directing traffic in the grass areas. So traffic was at a standstill for 2 hours. People were urinating everywhere for lack of restrooms in the grass parking areas.. The Rascal Flatts concert wasn't a fun experience. Couldn't see and could barely hear the music. Pros: Close handicap parking Cons: Cost, filthy restrooms inside, and poor parking assist more

Know where you are going. 7/14/2008

If you take the time to look at a map and to put a little planning into it should be pretty easy to figure a back way to Blossom. There are many roads that lead there, so pick a back road and enjoy the ride. You do not need to go route 8 to Steels corner that will take you forever, no matter where your coming from. Remember your going out for a good time, relax and enjoy yourself. Police are heavy there, but you would cry if they were sparse. Pros: in summit county Cons: beer cost. more

Let's all WAKE UP and boycott Blossom 6/23/2008

Going to a concert at Blossom has become absolutely ridiculous. Hours to get in, insufficient sound at the show and more hours to get out. I don't know if you've noticed but the music volume on the lawn in so low you can have a normal conversation with someone 8 feet away with no problem. Which lets any rowdy people on the lawn completely drown out the show. It would be better to sit at home and listen to a greatest hits CD on my home stereo. At least then I wouldn't have to endure TWO FREAKIN HOURS to get out of the parking lot plus 17 extra dollars in Ticket Master "convenience fees" on top of my 30 dollar ticket price. It's time to shut down this inconvenient albatross and the best way to do this is to STOP BUYING TICKETS. Who's with me??? When Blossom stops selling out show, the acts will start booking at better, more convenient venues like Wolstien Center or the Q Pros: Can't think of any Cons: Can't get in or out in under 3 hours more

blossem has went down hill 6/22/2008

i was very upset at the concert of eric clapton. we spent alot of money having family come up from indiana and only seen 30 minnets of the show. i myself would never buy or come back to blossem again . i used to come to many concerts there but i would never buy again. i had bought 6 pavilian seats and what a waist. we could not even fight the croud to get our seats. we allso had a handicap person with us wich inconsiderate people would not move for we only wanted what we paid for.i was soooo inbarresed to be there and to even invite them back to any concert there. i gave you such high reviews befor but that has all changed. i hope other people write you. i allso filled out complante forms at blossem . i wish you would compesate us for something .joan williams 7601 spafford cleveland ohio 44105 Pros: i did like it here Cons: i do not like it now more

Disapointing 6/3/2008

I saw James Taylor perform at blossom in 1978, so I was very excited to see him last night. The most disapointing thing was that the group seated behind us was so drunk and obnoxious that we could not hear over their yelling. When my husband asked them if they could be a bit quieter, they then decided to heckle us. During intermission we moved to the lawn and found the crowd younger and better behaved! There was no security visable in the pavillion, only 20 year old ushers to keep an eye on things. I will not be going back to Blossom. It seems selling beer is more a priority than providing a good concert experience. It seems that in 1978 my 20 year old friends and I had more respect for the music and the people around us. Pros: James Taylor is still a great performer Cons: Too many drunks, lack of visable security, extremely expensive food and drink more
