Birch Street Bistro

My wife and I have been to a thousand restaurants over the years, and while we often patronized Del Fino, we never went to this great little place. \r We decide to go to Birch Street for a drink while we wait for our table at Del Fino. \r First off - I was blown away by the bar. It's beautiful and comfortable. The serivce was tremendous - both at the bar, and every time we've dined since then.\r The menu is not overwhelming, and it's delicious. I've tried about everything except lamb which I don't like anyway.\r Finally - not that this matter much - but the owner is a courteous and professional guy. you get the feeling he really wants to know what you think when he asks, instead of just going through the motions.\r \r When it's a special occasiona and we're not going in town - this is the place we go.\r \r more

Accomodating and knowledgable staff. Food was fabulous. We felt welcomed and enjoyed our night out. Pros: Ambiance and food. Cons: Usually a wait call ahead to get your name on the list. more

My husband and I have been to the Birch Street Bistro twice and we plan on returning. We bought a gift certificate each time we were there. It has a great atmosphere and the granite bar is very nice. We also love the booths across from the bar. They have a good selection of beer and the food is excellent. The staff is great. more

We had a nice experience here. Waitstaff was friendly though a bit slow - food was above average and priced moderately. Wine was great. Pros: cool ambiance, variety on the menu is great - tasty food- friendly staff more

Birch Street Bistro is my new favorite place. We go there to sit outside in the huge courtyard (shared with 2 other great Roslindale restuarants) or to sit at the big marble bar. The food is tremendous with lots of variety. They do a pizza special everynight, very creative toppings that are always fabulous! I had a cheeseburger last night that was the best I've had in a long time. For an app, we usually order the chicken, pineapple, red pepper kabobs that are out of this world though last night we had huge fried shrimp with a coconut curry sauce that was wonderful.
