Grocery Store and Restaurant authentic and Great 2/28/2010

I am ethnic foodie. Went to this restaurant recently and loved the Pad Thai, Larb salad, Papaya salad, and Penang curry. The grocery store next door was nicely stocked. The owner was friendly and helpful. This is not your local Kroger folks, it's an ethnic store. It did not smell badly as was alluded to in another review. I'm going back today for another authentic Thai fix. more

Real Thai for Real People 1/19/2008

Bangkok Restaurant is the best Thai we have found in central Ohio. Fresh, spicy, and fantastically delicious, this fare is not dumbed down like many other Asian restaurants in the area. Always packed on weekends, the prices are better than fair. Eager to please, the staff goes out of their way to please. BYOB Cheap, authentic Thai cuisine 7/19/2006

We love this place. The food is excellent and not watered down to cater to the customer who doesn't know the difference between Thai, Chinese, and Japanese food. The evening server is so nice and helpful and the prices are ridiculously cheap. Feel free to bring your own alchoholic beverage of choice because they don't serve. Pros: Cheap, high-quality, authentic Thai food; good service Cons: less than ideal furnishings, not close to downtown more

Thai reaturant is very good, but the grocery is not recommended to go. There is no value to shop at this store because bad service. People who work there are not friendly to customers more

Overall, this was great, although initially we were extremely disappointed by the combination appetizer platter - they clearly came out of a box, and the calamari sticks were thick tasteless rubber. I don't recommend them at all. The main meals, however, were delicious. My combination Pad Thai was the best I've ever had, and the meat - beef, chicken, pork, shrimp - was very good quality. The $1 sodas also get 2 thumbs up. Service is very good, and the restaurant has a good atmosphere. Shame it's not in a better location. Most Authentic Thai Food in Columbus! 7/18/2005

This is by far the best ""mom & pop"" thai food in Columbus, and as someone who has eaten Thai/Laotian food all her life, I can vouch for authenticity here. The prices are dirt cheap and the food is absolutely wonderful. My recommendations are the Tom Kha Gai, Bangkok steak (ask for a side of steamed rice), and the pad kee mao (ask for the ""skinny"" pho noodles instead of the big thick ones).
