Worst

If you would like an eyebrow wax, GO TO A DIFFERENT SALON!!! The scheduled me with a hair stylist (Michelle) for my eyebrow wax and pedicure. The eyebrow wax was still not right ...

We highly recommend Bana. There are 3 of us who live in different towns and Ann Arbor is the middle ground where we always go for a girls getaway. Going to the spa is our big treat to ourselves so we don't like to be disappointed. They made us feel so comfortable and pampered. The place is decorated so beautiful and cozy. We all agreed, best facial ever. Some places we have been to we felt like they could care less about us being there. The only complaint here was it took forever to cash out, they need more help at the front desk. Not a biggy though, we will be back next year for sure. Loved it. Pros: Great staff and atmosphere. Cons: Need extra help at front desk more

Relaxing Spa Atmosphere 10/14/2008

Bana Salon & Spa is a wonderful experience! They are a full-service salon and spa including hair creations, manicures, massages, facials, and soon palates and yoga! The colors and decor in the different rooms and spaces are inviting and warm. I have been going to this salon since it first opened and every time I get my hair cut and colored, I get many compliments; often from strangers asking where I get my hair done! more

Bana Salon & Spa is a wonderful experience! They are a full-service salon and spa including hair creations, manicures, massages, facials, and soon palates and yoga! The colors and decor in the different rooms and spaces are inviting and warm. I have been going to this salon since it first opened and every time I get my hair cut and colored, I get many compliments; often from strangers asking where I get my hair done! The staff are very involved customer needs and are happy to provide their input so you walk out a new improved you! Love the Starbucks coffee and treats as I relax and process! more

worst manicure in the world 7/16/2008

THIS WAS THE WORST MANICURE I HAVE EVER HAD and it was VERY expensive!!! I was in from out of town and part of a bridal party so I didn't want to complain about the service because the bride (my best friend) booked us all the appointments. It was cramped, small, and had very little lighting. I chose a dark nail polish and it looked horrible (because the color was unever and the bottle must have been old because it wasn't smooth). The top coat was sticky and old and other girls in the wedding party had the same problem. I had to end up paying $65.00 for a manicure and pedicure and I had to buy the nail polish so that I could fix my nails before the wedding. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! more

Best kept secret in Ann Arbor 3/20/2008

A great find! Everyone is very friendly and willing to accommodate clients' busy schedules. They are especially helpful in assisting with product selection without being pushy. The decor is inviting, attractive and comfortable. Rob is a skillful stylist and a real expert on color recommendations. You might even be lucky enough to receive a neck and shoulder massage preceding your shampoo. Bana offers a wide selection of services appropriate to a broad age range. This place is a little hole in the wall. Everyone was nice and I liked decor. However, everyone in the salon that day was over the age of 40, hair dressers and customers. My hair cut seemed a little too 80's for my style. If you are young, I wouldn't suggest this place. I give it a 3. Pros: friendly staff, nice furniture Cons: location, Age range more

I love this salon and spa. Everyone was extra friendly and the services that I had were wonderful!!! I have been to many salon and spas, but this one has been the best. The salon is kind of hidden, but it is worth finding. The massage and facial were the best. I loved my hair as well, but that's not as relaxing:) You really should check this place out!!!!!!!! Below my expectations 12/21/2006

When I first got in, she told me to put a pair of those special undewear on. I was wondering why I needed one of those if I was getting a brazilian. Turns out they had put me down for the incorrect service. I was fine with that. The young lady that was helping me that day was very nice and made me feel comfortable. However, the service she provided was just mediocre. This was the second time I had gotten a brazilian and felt that the person at Fran Coy Salon did a better job. The individual at Bana took a longer time and seemed to have to go over spots several times. When she was done, there were still some hairs left, not just one or two that I could get rid of myself. What bothered me was that she said next time I could try trimming the hair beforehand to make it less painful. Isn't she supposed to do that?? Pros: Beautiful decor Cons: Average service more
