Best Cupcakes in Georgetown!!! 5/9/2012

Georgetown Cupcakes and Sprinkles have nothing on Bake and Wired! You must taste it to know the difference, but since I used to work in Georgetown I have tried all of them multiple times and know this is truly the best. Their coffee is also very delicious, but a coworker complained that it had too much caffiene- that's a plus in my book. more

Best Mocha 12/20/2011

Might be the best mocha in DC definitely gtown. Parking sucks though. more

This Review Made Me Want to Eat a Cupcake 8/30/2010

More trendy coffeeshop and bakery than strict cupcakery, Baked and Wired packs a very full house at all hours of the day. The shop is crowded with tourists, students, families, and the occasional native, which shows its wear on the frayed staff serving up organic drinks and a surprisingly wide array of sweet-tooth cravings. Of course the cupcakes are the main draw ? screaming colors and flavors prominently plated under tantalizing names like the Chocolate Cupcake of Doom. Though I have noticed a surge of non-traditional bacon-infused food products around town, thankfully the Elvis cupcake just has banana, chocolate, and PB, sans pork, making it a personal favorite. Seating is comfortable but scarce, and loud. Better to escape to sprawl on the waterfront grass a block away, enjoying quality cupcake splendor with necessary serenity for full cupcake consumption concentration. more

Hipster cupcakes 5/28/2010

Where Georgetown Cupcake serves the neighborhood's preppy population with iconic pink boxes and flower topped cupcakes, Baked & Wired is the hipster/indie alternative. There is absolutely zero pretension at this no-frills bakery and the quirky staff is always welcoming. Order the Vanilla latte cupcake and then go to the other side of the shop to get ""wired"" aka get a cup of fresh brewed coffee. Oh! And don't forget Fido. Baked & Wired has dog treats to bring home to your favorite pup. Pros: More than just cupcakes. Mmm.. Cons: You can't order drinks and food at the same counter. more

Little piece of heaven 5/23/2010

As cupcakes continue to become the most popular dessert items I must ""force"" myself to continue to try out all of the locations. Recently when a friend recommended Baked and Wired to me, I had my doubts on it topping all of the other cupcakeries I had tried but I was completely wrong. The creative use of parchment paper instead of a cupcake wrapper makes Baked and Wired cupcakes unique amongst its competitors. At first glance you will notice this cupcake shop delivers larger cupcakes than many of the other bakeries in D.C. With many selections of flavors I had to try their red velvet to see how it compared. I was in heaven instantly! Thus far Baked and Wired is in the lead for the best cupcake in D.C. ! Pros: Large, moist, heavenly Cupcakes more

Great cupcake preveyor or GREATEST cupcake preveyor? 4/28/2010

Cupcakes area luxury item. Do I need a $3.50 frosted afternoon pick me up? No. Does a mere $3.50 radically possess the ability to turn my day around? Absolutely. Plenty of places in DC offer ""cupcakes"" but they are mere immitations of what the good lord intended these little baked delicacies to be. Vanilla, strawberry, chocolate all are fantastic. Even if you have your allegances declared to another institution give this joint a try and tell em if im wrong. Pros: Moist, flavorful and always fresh Cons: Lines? more

Best Bakery in DC 3/31/2010

I'm a HUGE Baked and Wired fan, which I don't feel gets enough good buzz among all the other cupcakeries in DC. Although I do like knowing that I'll never have to stand in a long line outside of B&W's storefront just to get a cupcake or a cookie. Baked & Wired's cupcakes have pretty much a 50-50 ratio: LOTS of cake and LOTS of frosting. Just the way I like them. Don't expect dinky little cakes here. Their classic flavors are just as amazing as their signatures, like the Cherry Blossom cupcake that comes out every Spring. The cake is always moist and dense, and the frosting very creamy. I've also had their cookies and brownies, which are amazing - they have a cookie sandwich with two peanut butter cookies with chocolate ganache in the middle that's so simple yet so satisfying. Their brownies are just the right size and come in different varieties, like with peanut butter. They're perfectly fudgy and not too cakey. B&W is also good for just stopping by, hanging out with a book or laptop and sipping a latte. They have a coffee bar on the other side of the baked goods counter that offers very coffee drinks, either hot or iced. They also have quiche and granola for those needing something savory or healthy. Pros: Wide array of baked goods Cons: runs out of certain flavors quickly, not open late more

Only two places for cupcake this is 1 6/10/2009

Co-Best cupcakes in DC, with Red Velvet. Only downside is they change their menu everyday so you may not get your favorite everytime you go. more
