Bachman's

In the twin cities, one of the premier florists is Bachman's. Bachman's has several store locations. The stores are so much fun to visit. Not only do they offer an amazing variety of flowers, plants, shrubs, and trees, they have an excellent collection of gifts! What a great place to find a gift for that special female in your life. They have pottery, candles, vases, collectables..just to name a few. The gifts are very high end and unique..you will find things here you've never seen. I can spend hours in these stores. more

The other day my wife and I place an order for flowers to send to her mother. She called back and adjusted the order so that the flowers delivered at our home instead of her mother's. The customer service on the phone was abrupt. Okay. Fine. My wife calls again this evening asking when the flowers would be delivered (supposed to be today). Customer service was, again, abrupt and didn't offer to check the tracking to see if the flowers were even out of the shop yet. Just not taking care of us. I understand it is a big holiday season but to get repeat business you have to take care of the customers especially when it is busy. Rude customer service. The doorbell rings. We look out the window and see a guy walking away. I open the door and the flowers are sitting outside the door. We had delivery instructions to bring to the rental office if we are not home. I follow the delivery man to the truck and ask why he rang and ran. Bachman's policy is to drop the flowers off at the door. I asked what happens if someone steals the flowers, we have a front door but the entry area is open with other townhomes having access. We'd have to call Bachman's and they would deliver flowers for free. Great, but what if we needed them that day? He didn't care. Very rude, poor service and did not follow delivery instruction. A call back to customer service. It is, in fact, Bachman's policy to drop off the flowers if not cold outside and to not deliver to rental office because it might "slow down" the deliveries. Nothing about the fact that the delivery was made to a common area. To top it off, my wife's mother also received a delivery from the original order before we changed it. Rang the apartment and left it in the entry way to an apartment building with maybe a hundred units...and this is after she said she would be right down. But, to show this isn't just one experience, two years ago the sales people at Bachman's were very rude when she was shopping around for a florist to use at our wedding. They didn't get our business then and they won't get our business in the future. Customer service was rude and uncaring, delivery was rude, in store people have been rude, and the delivery policy is unreliable if you don't have a private entryway only for your own family. Our business will be going elsewhere. more

My husband and I are not green thumbs to say the least. So when it came to landscaping our house, we were clueless. We knew that we has to do something after four years of living in our new house surrounded only by wood chips. We went to Home Depot and looked at plants, but could only pick plants based on shade or sun. Then we stopped at Bachman's where they were very helpful, helping us fine low maintenance plants, and they ended up looking great. more

I have always loved the quality of plants and items at Bachmans. True they are a bit more pricey than other places, but the quality is there. They guarantee their plants so if they don't do what they are supposed to, you can bring them back! I have found the staff to be very knowledgeable and have brought them many questions about trees, bushes and plants I have at my house and what to do about them. I have given many gifts from Bachmans and I am always confident that I am giving the best possible quality! more

Selection is usually very good—they carry lots of plants and flowers, and a wide variety of types of everything. When calling to place special orders for flower arrangement, they haven't been terribly helpful. Follow-through for the retail florist side of their business is lacking, in my opinion. You can't beat the selection, but the service isn't great. more

Bachman’s is a Minnesota landmark. They have many stores around the twin cities and also sell plants and flowers in Byerly’s grocery stores. You will find a lot more options here than you would at a huge warehouse home and garden center. Additionally they grow a lot of their stock here in Minnesota. more

Many people think that Bachman's is spendy - but I think it is well worth the money. I love their selection of indoor plants and they frequently put them on sale. In the spring they also have awesome sales on their outdoor plants. They have a great selection of indoor and outdoor plants as well as gifts. I love the Lyndale Avenue store around the holidays since it is all decorated! They have trees decorated and a huge selection of gift items. more

If you want a huge selection of tropical and outdoor trees and plants, as well as floral and gifts-Bachman's is the place. The employees are wonderful. The extremely knowledgeable and always staffed help desk has aided me in identifying several mystery plants plucked from my yard in the past couple of years. Their perennials are almost always big, lush, and ready to survive harsh Minnesota winters. They may not have the most exotic varieties available (for that-go to Tangletown Gardens) but their plants are in great shape and the shopping experience is always pleasant. For a food treat-try the onsite bakery/coffee shop Patrick's Cafe. Good coffee and excellent french pastries served in a nice courtyard under cute yellow garden umbrellas. more

We have been going to Bachmans for over 10 years. The nursery offers wide range of plants for all types of gardeners. They have a huge selection of annuals, perennials, trees, fresh flowers, pots, fountains, etc. I think you get the picture. If you are shopping for your garden, you should at least one visit to this mainstay. I would suggest visiting others so that you may pick up the odd plant or variety. Great customer service and return policy, if needed. They are so friendly and it is the first place I think if I need advice whether it is about my lawn, flowers or an insecticide. more

As an apt my dweller most of my life I had no idea how to garden...or much about it all. I was then given money by my boss and told to buy flowers and to landscape the front of an apt building. I had now idea where to even start. I drive over to Bachman's and wonder around not knowing what to even do. A sale's associate spots me and takes me under her wing. We planned out everything and she helped me pick every piece out I needed. She saved the day. I have the highest respect for Bachman's and recommend it highly! more

Bachmans is the nicest nursery in the twin cities. The quality of their products far surpass any other nurseries in the city. I have recieved nothing but excellent product and service everytime i have shopped this store. They are more than helpful when it comes to helping you make the right purchases for your wants, abilities, needs and location. I have recieved the best advice just from chatting with the friendly employees. more
