Violates Minnesota statutes and dismisses it! 3/4/2010

A member of the maintenance crew for this company entered my apartment illegally (did not provide notice in advance or leave written notice after the fact). When I brought this issue to management I was dismissed with an ""it was an honest mistake"". Illegal entry of a place of residence is never an honest mistake. I have had issues with leaky ceilings that have been reported and not fixed. I was told I had to call back when the leak was occurring otherwise it couldn't be fixed. I was called, at work, and asked to move my vehicle because there was going to be carpet work done on the apartment above where I was parked and the old carpeting was going to be thrown off the balcony and could damage my car. I was given minimal advance notice and had to take an hour and a half out of my work day to bus home, move my car, and bus back. Neighbors are noisy, police appear to be called here often, nothing is done to improve anything. Pros: Very few Cons: Poor management, terrible maintenance, violates state law more

Preys on young adults 9/3/2008

Uptown is a well known and well loved area of Minneapolis and only the deserving should be able to set up shop. BT&A could not live up to that description if their life depended on it. The office, landlord, OR caretakers were available EVER to provide any assistance. They made an effort to ignore phone calls, failed to return calls, and even chose not to answer the door when quite obviously I was knocking on it. The caretakers of the building were unresponsive to the many noise complaints I attempted to make. The rent checks didn't process for weeks and there was no physical office. THey had a phone number but she was only available for a couple hours a day. Prior to moving out, being that I was unsure if I was going to stay or leave, they allowed me to skip signing and sending the ""Do you want to rent with us again?"" paperwork BUT when I moved out on the correct date, after ONE YEAR, they tried to evict me, charged me to not showing up to court, said the lease was ""indefinite"" and that I needed to sign out of it, charged me 5 months after I moved out PLUS late fees and sent me to a collection agency with a total of $8500 due. Two years later, after working with a lawyer and them taking my ""payment in full"", they have destroyed my credit report and made it impossible for me to rent again. A fellow friend of mine, ex-roommate, called the company for a recommendation for his new apartment and they felt it necessary to inform him that they will MAKE SURE that the amount stays on my credit report and that I am UNABLE to rent ever again. Now, seeing as this wasn't the subject matter he was calling about, why bother to address that issue? I have an entire folder of paperwork and nasty letters that they continued to send me for a year. I recommend NEVER renting from this company. Not everybody's experience is the same, but this will hopefully shed some light and help you make a better choice when renting in Uptown, where more and more companies seem to be failing. Pros: location, price Cons: management, neighbors, caretakers more
