i've used chris bee's services before, and i had a very pleasant experience. in fact, i was quite impressed by him. he did a great job finding us a place. in ausin, it is tough finding an apartment without using a realtor. he showed us five properties in the area that we wanted, and he drove us to all of them. he also doesn't try to sell you on the most expensive or try to get you to go beyond your budget. i would definitely use him again. more

I worked with Chris Bee in finding an apartment for one of his clients. You could tell the man had a firm grasp on all the communities we talked about. He even cited published sources while advising his client, showing that he took an active and current interest in the Austin market in general. He had a deep repport with his client and was overall a pleasure to work with. He seemed to be the kind of locator who would go the extra mile for a client to make sure they weren't rushed or pressured into making a bad decision to make a quick buck. more

With all the negative reviews of Chris Bee, I considered canceling my appointment and finding a new realtor. After finding a great apartment this morning, I had to give a good review to counter out the negative ones. While Chris is eccentric, he works hard and did great for me. You can tell that he really cares about finding you a place to live. more

I had a great time finding an apartment with Chris Bee. I was in the process of moving from Houston to Austin and had zero time to schedule an appointment. I had already worked with a couple apartment locators who told me I would never be able to find anything within my price range in the central/campus area. I was in a time crunch to find an apartment before school started and made a trip to Austin for the day determined to find a place. I contacted Chris Bee along with a few other locators, and out of the four that I called, Chris returned my call immediately and knew of at least three places off of the top of his head that he could show me. I met up with him within minutes of hanging up. Yes, there were files in his car, however they were neatly stacked and out of the way in the backseat, and the ones he was using to give me immediate information about the properties we were visiting were set out of the way on the center console. Chris Bee was a genuine guy who was extremely knowledgeable of the area and the properties' information. He showed me at least seven places in only a few hours. He was extremely patient with me and listened carefully to what it was that I was looking for. He actually understood what I was looking for better than I did. I ended up with a great town home with wood floors in an apartment complex in the hyde park area overlooking the pool for $100 less than the original asking price. Yes, he did take a couple phone calls during the showings, however, his job depends on the amount of people he helps and there are so many individuals in his line of work that it makes it so easy for people to just move on to the next locator if he doesn't pick up. For someone to drop everything they're doing to help you out is extremely difficult to find and I really appreciated all of his hard work and generosity. He took me to any apartment I wanted to see, all WELL within my price range that met the qualifications I had specified and then some. I had two days to find an apartment in Austin, so I have contacted an apartment finder agency to make sure I can move fast and find something that I like in a particular budget range. I was very disappointed that the agent I worked with showed me only a few apartments which I couldn't accept (i.e. ~2h of search). Luckily, one of my future colleagues suggested me Chris Bee. I have contacted Chris on Thurdsay afternoon and on Friday morning he showed me a nice place which I decided to rent. So I am grateful to Chris, first of all because he accepted to wok with me at such a short notice, and second, he listened and new what to show me. He is a very nice guy, who is willing to help you, and puts soul in what he is doing. I strongly recommend him. more

"I'm overwhelmed with joy right now because I just got the BEST BEST BEST apartment in Hyde Park and I owe it all to Chris Bee! Mr. Bee went above and beyond the call of duty as a Realtor. He met me 20 mins after my first phone call, at his conveniently located office, and took me to see 4 different places I was interested in and even threw in an extra one that was not on the list. Contrary to some of these other post, Chris Bee proved to be a very helpful and reliable broker. While planning a move to Austin from out-of-state, I had a hard time getting most brokers to respond to my emails and phone calls. Chris Bee responded immediately and sent us listing that actually fit our criteria; something many of the other agents/brokers did not do. From his listings there was a house fresh on the market, in our preferred area, with no pictures. Chris Bee went out to the property that day and got us pictures! He tracked down the agent in charge and made all the arrangements for us to submit an application; three days later we were approved for the house. Chris Bee was extremely attentive and showed great follow through. He may come off as a little eccentric, but he works hard for his clients. He took a lot of stress out of our long-distance move. On a side note; Greenlight Locators, who gets a lot of positive reviews, was the worst at getting me relevant listing and then they just stopped replying to my emails all together. more

I have a somewhat different opinion about Chris Bee. At first, I was very skeptical about dealing with him, based on the accounts posted above. But he turned out to be a nice old guy, and even though I didnt end up leasing the places he showed to me, we parted with pleasant greetings. more

He found me a really great place quickly and within my price range. It was great working with such an honest and efficient person. I really appreciate all the hard work he put into finding me the right place! more

I don't know what the other reviewers meant about having bad experiences with Chris Bee. I had nothing but a great experience with him. He took me to about 15 or so properties until I found the exact one I was interested in. He never took me to a property that was out of my price range or location requirements and he showed me multiple places that I hadn't found online even though I spent approximately 12 hours searching. Chris has been in Austin for a very long time and has been working in real estate forever, which is why he knows the area so well that he has memorized the phone numbers of apartment communities and the names of the people who work there (he doesn't store them in his cell phone's contact list like the rest of people on earth). So yes, he is pretty unconventional. There Are a lot of files in his car, which he uses to track of all the places he's found for his clients but I never saw garbage on the floor or anywhere else and he kept the outside of his car looking nice as well. Chris is an old-timer in Austin. He doesn't use a laptop like a lot of other realtors but instead uses a filing system, a fantastic memory, tons of paper print outs, and multiple key rings that resemble the Key Master in The Matrix. Chris also packs a warm and friendly attitude, a quirky sense of humor (just ask him to tell you about the apartments on Enfield with free central air) and a willingness to help all types of renters, including those with a budget of less than $600 a month. I heard one leasing manager refer to him as a ""sweet, sweet man"" and I agree. Chris may not be the typical person you run into but he knows Austin way more than anyone I've ever met. Give him a chance and see if you don't agree. more

Look. Chris Bee definitely marches to the beat of his own drum, but that's a good thing! He is NOT a drinker you idiots, he's eccentric. Welcome to Austin! The truth is, he's a hard workin' non-B'S givin' agent. I've used him for all my moves in Austin. I've tried other Realtor, but he really is one of the best. I'm picky and he doesn't mind it! He doesn't try to push me into anything. He's is consistently helpful and honest and I admire that greatly in a Realtor. When I first met him, I was a little put off by his demeanor, but I quickly realized how hard he is willing to work for YOU. He will undoubtedly fin the perfect fit for you and not try to peruse you into something out of your budget or just not what you're looking for. He has 30 years knowledge of Austin and knows all the little gems! He worked with me until 10pm to find a place! He's not afraid to go the extra mile for you and that's extremely rare, especially in a college city. more

I've had a very good experience with Chris Bee. He is kind and trustworthy. He put a lot of effort into helping me find a place. He never pushed me out of my price range. He knew all the properties available well. He always either answers his phone or returns calls very quickly. He seems a little scattered, but he is good at his job. I've delt with one other leasing agent in Austin and my experience was not good, so I am compelled to recommend Chris. more

I don't care what anyone else says. Melissa Gregory did not only find my perfect home, but she did so in less than an hour. She really knows what she's doing. She is down to earth, and really easy to get along with. It takes a lot for me to praise a business, but the service at Avignon was great. Call Melissa yourself-- you won't regret it! more
